What is Daniel’s first approach to eat a different diet?

He asked the guard over him if he could refuse the royal food and wine.

What does he do when his first attempt failed?

He doesn't give up, but suggests a different approach, eating just vegetables and water.

What is his demeanor towards those over him?

Daniel has great respect for those over him and does not want the guard to come under judgement.

In what ways do you think God affects the outcome of Daniel’s request?

The Bible says that God gave the guard a sense to be kind to Daniel and his friends.

Daniel was obedient to God and refused to eat a diet that would defile him. He negotiated with the eunuch in charge to accept a 10 day trial of eating pulse and water. Daniel is both obedient and respectful to the eunuchs assigned to him. The Word of God states, If you draw high to God, He will draw high to you." Daniel served God with all his heart and soul. As a result, God protected Daniel and the other 3 Hebrews.

Q4  (Daniel 1:8-16) What is Daniel’s first approach to eat a different diet? What does he do when his first attempt failed? What is his demeanor towards those over him? In what ways do you think God affects the outcome of Daniel’s request?

Daniel treated his superiors, though they were the enemy, with respect and honor.  He did not demand his way, or act prideful in his request, but asked for a chance to show that God's way was better.  He asked for a testing time of ten days and then would respect the final decision of his superior.  God had given Daniel and his friends favor with the official and he was willing to listen to the captives, though he had no obligation to do so.  I appreciate the fact that Daniel, though, "resolving not to defile himself," still acted respectfully and humbly, not demanding or arrogant.  I think that is a good lesson for us to learn that we don't have to be arrogant about our ways when we think we are right, nor demanding, but react with respect and honor and trust God for the outcome.

He refused to eat the king's food.

He thinks of a plan (with God's help) to show the official he is correct in not wanting the king's food.

He was wise and polite.

God was glorified with Daniel's choice.  I'm sure God's hand was in the favor of the official and that there was such a difference between Daniel & his friends vs the other young men after just 10 days.

Q4. (Daniel 1:8-16) What is Daniel's first approach to eat a different diet? What does he do when his first attempt failed? What is his demeanor towards those over him? In what ways do you think God affects the outcome of Daniel's request?

Daniel is a man of strong unshakable faith. He is a great human role model of one who is in this world but not of this world. There are few on the earth today who provide us such a good model of faith. Still we are lucky to study God's word today. And we praise His Holy Name!

Q4. (Daniel 1:8-16) What is Daniel’s first approach to eat a different diet? What does he do when his first attempt failed? What is his demeanor towards those over him? In what ways do you think God affects the outcome of Daniel’s request?

Daniels first approach to not eat the king's food and wine was that if they did it would defile their belief's .

Daniels second approach to not eat the king's food was to eat a different diet than that which was set before them was to get the guard to agree to test their choice of a vegetable diet instead of meat for 10 days.

The demeanor of the guard over Daniel was that God caused the guard to show favor and sympathy toward him.

God's affects the outcome of Daniels's request to not eat the food or drink the wine set before them by first causing the guard to show favor and sympathy toward Daniel, then after their 10 day day test of eating only vegetables and drinking water, their bodies were better fit than the other people involved in the deportation to Babylon.

Daniel had totally submitted himself to God's will; hence, his proposal to go through a test for ten days was a perfect strategy to leave the choice to God in using his servant as per His will.  Sincerely in his heart, he did not want to defy God's law, but he also seeing God's will in causing the deportation of His faithful servant into the hand of a pagan king.

Daniel was ready to submit to the authority of the Babylonian king if that was God's will.  The beauty of Daniel's wisdom is to allow God to excel His power through His faithful servant and conquer the heart of the pagan ruler of the world.

God had shown His favour to Daniel's faith and with the test God's power and His protection was glorified.

Reflecting on the coming ruling of the Antichrist, I believe Christian should learn this example of Daniel.

Daniel makes a request and when that doesn't work, with respect to those over him, he gives a challenge. I believe God blessed them physically because they were honoring Him in everything.

Q4. (Daniel 1:8-16)

What is Daniel's first approach to eat a different diet?

What does he do when his first attempt failed?

What is his demeanor towards those over him?

In what ways do you think God affects the outcome of Daniel's request?

Daniel’s first approach was to ask the king’s chief official for permission not to eat the food and wine served in the royal palace. This might have been a reckless request since it was inexcusable to disobey the king’s orders. This was, however, refused.

In the meantime, the king’s official had put a guard in charge of Daniel and his friends. So Daniel makes another plan. He asks the guard to allow them to eat only vegetables and water at mealtime for the next ten days. After the ten days are up, they must compare how they look with the other young men, and then decide if it will fine for them to eat vegetables instead of the rich food and wine. The guard agrees to do this. Ten days later, Daniel and his friends look healthier and better than the young men who had been served food from the royal palace. So, the guard lets them eat vegetables instead of the rich food and wine. We see Daniel treating all those over him with respect. At the same time he did not fear any possible consequences because he knew he was acting in accordance with the Lord’s standards. This is a typical example in which Daniel boldly places his life in God’s hands, regardless of the outcome, with uncompromising obedience.

Daniel dared to challenge the king rules asking the prince of the eunuchs to give him and his friends a different kind of food. Then, his attempt failed and he asked the prince of the eunuchs to make a test of ten days. As the eunuch consented, after the ten days the difference in the countenances of Daniel and his friend were clear.

God honored them giving them knowledge and skill in learning and wisdom. Besides, they were granted understanding in all visions and dreams.

1.The first approach of Daniel towards the situation was a request that he wish not be defiled by the food and that was a refusal to partake .
2 When the official explained the fact that there is a hurdle ./the king having scheduled the diet and the possibility of face looking worse ,and endangering the official ::: On understanding the explanation of officil ,Daniel asked for 10 days of trial ,with separately made pulses and water ,and make a comparison with the healthy looks /faces of those who ate the kings portion .
3.Daniels demeanor was respectful and open to  a dialogue
4..God made the officials heart kind and tender to the boys ,and walked with the Four ,giving them knowledge ,skill and wisdom ,even to understand visions and dreams ,

What is Daniel's first approach to eat a different diet? What does he do when his first attempt failed? What is his demeanor towards those over him? In what ways do you think God affects the outcome of Daniel's request?

I get the impression that the diet was not compatible to Daniel's culture that is why he did not want to defile himself.  It is unclear to me if he did actually try to eat (which I doubt).  His demeanor was calm, sincere yet humble when he requested of the guard that they not be given the food and wine the king had allotted.  God softened the heart of the heart to grant Daniel's request.

He asked the chief of staff for permission not to eat these unacceptable foods.Atfer his first attempt Daniel said, please test us for ten days on a diet of vegetables and water.

Without compromising, Daniel found a way to live by God’s standards in a culture that did not honor God. Wisely choosing to negotiate rather than to rebel, Daniel suggested an experimental 10-day diet of vegetables and water instead of the royal foods and wine the king offered. Without compromising, Daniel quickly thought of a practical, creative solution that saved his life and the lives of his companions.

As God’s people, we may adjust to our culture as long as we do not compromise God’s laws.

Daniel approached the caregiver and convinced him to give them special food for ten days and if they weren’t in better condition than they would go back to eating off the kings table. So Daniel came to a compromise with the person in charge. The demeanor toward those over him was on of cooperation. God’s hand in this is that He made Daniel and his companions healthier then the others.

Daniel obediently approached the person in charge of them with a request to be given a different diet. When the request was rejected, he humbly modified it and asked for a trial period of 10 days, which was accepted. In other words, instead of Daniel rebelling against his superiors, he became innovative and succeeded. God worked on the minds of those in power and made them understand the request put on the table.

Daniel first asked the chief of the eunichs to allow him not to eat the king's food for the reason that this was defilement to his conscience. The chief seemed sympathetic but felt his own life would be endangered if the king saw that these captives became weakened or unhealthy. So Daniel respectfully tried a different approach. He asked the steward who directly oversaw Daniel and his friends for a 10-day test of only vegetables and water. I think he was fully confident that Yahweh would honor their desire to maintain inner purity and that they would be healthier than the others who ate the king's food. And Yahweh did honor their desire by giving them glowing health and strengthened bodies (even with weight and muscle gain!). God used Daniel and his friends to show us a real-life picture of living in the world, but not being of the world.

Daniels first approach to eating a different diet was to replace the kings meal of meat and wine to a meal of vegetables (pulse) and water.  The guard was afraid of what king Nebuchadnezzar would do if he didn't comply with his orders.  Instead of a protest, Daniel then approached the guard with the suggestion of a test to give them the vegetables and the water for ten days.  God then put it upon the heart of the guard to grant Daniels request and after the ten days, it proved that the meals that Daniel had requested resulted in them being a bit fit and fatter than they other servants who had eaten the kings meat.

Daniel's approach to eating a different diet was to show that it is not the king' food that will sustain their health. When the guard refused to allow them to eat as they desire Daniel did not give up but respectfully insisted by asking for a few days to show that they will survive and look better, in health, than the others.  Because Daniel stood his ground and invoked the name of the Lord, God indeed gave them a prosperous healthy looking and better nourished countenance.

Daniel asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself with the royal food.

Failing which he requested (suggested) a dietary experiment, being submissive throughout his conduct. Daniel knew his place and also discerned the official's anxiety. He maintained genuine respect for the foreign authorities without short-changing God's preeminence.

God blessed Daniel's request.

Daniel's initially went to the chief official over their care and requested different food. This request was met with a firm "NO". When this failed Daniel realized he needed to make a request that tested the assumption made by the chief official and gave the officials a way out. Daniel's demeanor is one that allows for a peaceful solution, an attitude that is not threatening or demanding. In this way the official was willing to accommodate his request especially since he was liked by the chief official. The fact that Daniel was accommodating and not troublesome initially went a long way toward the officials compromise. God was watching over Daniel and his friends due to the faith and love these men displayed. I believe just the fact that these young men were so devoted to God made a difference in their overall demeanor and God aided them both in their mental courage and in their physical condition through their dietary test.

Firstly, he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. When his first attempt failed due to the chief official's fear for his life, Daniel respectfully proposed a safe way for the chief official to test the different diet. Daniel was respectful towards the official and God caused the chief official to show favor and sympathy for Daniel and his request.

Because Daniel was deported to a foreign gentile nation where he suffered changes that are against his Jewish upbringing , he is concerned  with their food that may defile .
He asked to be fed with vegetables only without wine as well. When the guard over him and his friends refused to grant his request, Daniel proposed a short term plan of 10 days trial that the guard accepted .
Daniel was respectful towards those were put over him and his friends.
Daniel wanted to obey the laws of diet in his Jewish upbringing and keep himself from further defilement in the pagan country .
