Eilen Posted June 5, 2017 Report Share Posted June 5, 2017 We, as Christians, have to live in a way that by our exemplary, obedient lives, we will be able to stop those who criticize the faith. The only way we can accomplish this is living by God’s words, His commandments. We must live a life beyond criticism, above reproach and above shame so that others may see this and glorify our Father, in heaven. Our rebelliousness makes us part of the crowd, we stray from God and His teachings. St. Peter mentioned that our ’blending in’ detract from God’s praise 1Peter 2:12. Being rebellious causes us to hurt God since we no longer do His work wholeheartedly His glory and glorious kingdom is not being preached by us when we go astray. bertha Posted June 5, 2017 Report Share Posted June 5, 2017 Being submissive to authority honors God, first of all because this is a command given to us by God, and obedience pleases God, therefore it honors God. As Christians we carry his name and so our lives reflect on Him. In the secular world, when we see disobedient children, rebellious, uncivil, etc... we judge them by their behavior and tend to look to their parents as being unfit parents, or simply parents that didn't raise well mannered children. It makes the parents look bad. So, our Christian walk will reflect how people view Jesus and might cause people to not want anything to do with Christianity. This brings dishonor to God. Let us then be children of light and walk accordingly, guided by the Holy Spirit bearing fruits of righteousness, that our Father in Heaven may be glorified! Like Israel, we love the blessings, but continue in our selfish ways. God gave his only begotten Son to die for us. He paid the ultimate price on the cross that we may live a righteous, holy life, free from the bondage of sin; obedient, submissive, and dependent on HIM. It is by living a submissive and obedient life, that our light shines before others; letting them see our good works and so bring glory to our Father in heaven (Mat 5:16). The impact of our lives on others will not be lost when they see our good deeds, it may even result in turning unbelief to belief as they witness the obedience of His people. We have this paradox of Christian life; we are free yet we are slaves. This freedom cannot be used as an excuse for sin. If this happens we lose our freedom and once again we become entangled with the slavery of sin. Authentic freedom is ours only when we walk in the Spirit and Jesus Christ is reigning as the Lord of our lives, and it is to be used to glorify God. This we do when we serve Him faithfully. Since we are His slaves, our actions take place in the light of His presence, and we then must try to obey Him in all things. Of course, everything we do should be for the glory of the Lord and the good of His kingdom! It is when we start disobeying God that we dishonour Him and hurt Him. It is as if we have forgotten or have taken for granted the enormous cost of Jesus dying on the Cross for our sins – this must grieve our Lord tremendously. It’s like a slap in God’s face – we forget that God sent His only begotten Son into the world to suffer, be put to shame, and die for us to be saved from the consequences of our sins. We should also remember that when we wilfully disobey God and His laws, we become separated and alienated from Him. Showing even a glimpse of Jesus (which is really all we can do) glorifies God. By not living submissive, obedient lives, we are not coming near to the love, goodness and obedience of Jesus. Christians are to submit to others on a variety of levels, including a broad range of circumstances and settings, which also includes submission in the context of suffering. Submission is the key to unity and harmony in human relationships - in the church, in marriage, and in any relationship, submission is the basis for unity. Submission is at the core of man’s relationship with God and of discipleship. Adam and Eve’s sin was a revolt or rather “insubmission” against God - a refusal to submit to Him. We glorify God by our submission to His will and commands. How is God hurt when we get rebellious? God hates rebellion, and says it "is as the sin of witchcraft" (1 Sam 15:23). In fact, the Bible tells us that there comes a time, if a person remains in unrepentant sin, we should "deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord Jesus (1 Cor 5:5). God's grace is not a license to sin - it only shows our lack of love for the Lord, Who we must obey to please and show our gratitude to Jesus for giving His life for us. How is God hurt when we get rebellious? 1. We are to subject our self, to be subservient, to submit voluntarily." We are to obey authority over us. 2. When we are unreliable and unusable, it reflects upon Christ himself. How we act as Christians reflects directly upon Jesus and his reputation. Therefore, we need to be obedient and living a life of humble submission in an unjust world, following the pattern of Christ himself. As Christian we are Children of God, we know God gives us freedom to live in the world, everybody made mistake or good in ourselves life. And try to find the right way out. We must have experiences to know our Limit help. I believe our God promises us to give Glory until the end of the world in His time. Thanks for Gospel from Holy Spirit the right way our life. God is dependant upon us to live a submissive life to authority because this brings glory to him. If we are rebellious to authority then this hurts the Lord and brings no glory to his name. The glory of God is dependent upon Christians living a submissive and obedient lives for in so living people will see the lives we live and we'll see in US some aspect of God, the Father. A conscientious Christian can be a complainer because he/she is a human like any other human being. However, the complain can be in the form of pointing out some wrong with the intention of correcting it. Otherwise, a conscientious Christian would remain silent and look up to God for vindication. I believe it that every problem in the life of a Christian comes for a purpose either to point out your own sin or a test of commitment. With men, we are to be found blameless--that there would be honesty in all we do. When we get rebellious we are fighting against God--having our own way & not submitting to Him. God's glory is dependent upon us living submissive, obedient lives because it is through us that the unsaved will see the demonstration of God's grace when we walk in obedience to His word. God has given to us His will for our lives, the way in which we honor Him and bring Him glory is in our submissiveness and obedience in carrying out His commands. When we go against God's will we are rebelling and this hurts Him. In many circumstances it can have a domino effect; your disobedience lead to that of another and another, and continues.
