ducminh
Rahab had heard about the miracles performed for the Israelites in Egypt. She believed in His power and knew He was going to give them the land to the Israelites as He had done with the Amorites, Sihon and Og. She was certain in her faith because she had made the choice to hide the spies and betrayed the king of Jericho. Joshua 2: 9 And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. 10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. 11 And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath. Faith is not something one can simply express with words and empty prayer. It is the truth that has to be nourished and grown within one’s heart. It must be cultivated through all activities of life. It is the oil that must be stored for our lamp when we need. The parable of the ten virgins given by Christ (Matthew 25:1-13) is the perfect example telling us that we must prepare for the End Time, when the nations on earth will experience their total destruction, and Christ will come back for the judgement of our world. The eternal punishment or salvation is very much depending on our decision in this life, whether we make the choice to live in obedience to God’s commandments and His laws, or to satisfy our ambition, ****, pride, and all kind of vanities that this world is offering. Having faith in Christ does not mean getting baptised and attending church services; we must show our preference through our journey on earth. Christ, though He has suffered for the forgiveness of sin, but this does not mean we can continue to live the way of the pagan world while professing him as our Saviour. Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Heb 10: 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Q2: Joshua 2:2-11) What indicates that Rahab believes in Israel's God Yahweh? What does she believe about Yahweh? She hid the spies from the King's emissaries asking about them, lied to protect them saying they had come and gone back out the city gate. In V. 9, she confesses her faith to the spies by saying she knew the Lord had given them the land and that terror had fallen upon all of the inhabitants because of them....and how they had heard about how the Lord had dried up the Red Sea and what was done to Sihon and Og, Kings of the Amorites. "For the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath." How deep is Rahab's faith? Deep enough to defy her King, which meant risking her life and probably that of her family as well if she'd been discovered hiding the enemy. How deep a faith does someone need to have in order to be saved from the destruction of a city? Enough faith to first, believe destruction is imminent, and then to take action to either escape or if not enough time for that, to seek the Lord's protection while remaining in the city. From eternal punishment? Enough faith to believe that there is only One way to be saved from that eternal punishment: through God's Son, Jesus Christ and His death on the Cross and resurrection from the dead and to ask for and then receive this precious, free gift. So amazing and so simple that a small child can be born again, and yet so many will never ask or receive, believing instead that their works will attain a place for them in Heaven. Joy Duckett
Q 2. What indicated that Rahab believes in Israel's God Yahweh? What does she believe about Yahweh? Rahab had heard of the Israelite's God, Yahweh, and the miracles that He had done on behalf of the Israelites. She stated, "I know that the LORD has given this land to you." "... for The LORD your God is God in heaven above and in earth below." Rahab and purposed in her heart that she would anchor herself to Yahweh. She had grown to respect and fear Him, How deep was her faith? Her faith was deep enough to risk her life and the lives of her family. Had she been found out she and her family would have been killed. How deep a faith does someone need to have in order to be saves from the destruction of a city? Enough faith to act upon that faith. She knew that she had to hide these spies. She might possibly have sensed that the Israelites God, Yahweh, was watching and she was on His side. Rahab wanted to be saved from destruction because Yahweh was powerful. From eternal punishment? We just need faith in Jesus Christ, God's Son. Believe that He suffered death on the cross to pay our sin debt and that He rose from the dead. Jesus ascended to heaven and is sitting at the right hand of His Father praying and interceding for us. We who believe in Jesus will join Him in heaven and had eternal life.
Ganti Vivek
Rahab believed in Israel’s God Yahweh, because she had heard how the Israelite's were brought out of Egypt, the miracles that Yahweh had performed till they reached Jericho, and in v9 she confesses her faith to the spies stating that - for The LORD your God is God in heaven above and in earth below. Her faith in our lord is so great that she took risk of her life to hide the spies, if found she and her family would have been killed by Jericho king, here be can observe that she took advantage of the salvation when preached that about life and death that is ahead of her by taking right decision at right time by saving herself and her family members and others, here we are reminded about another lady in the bible Samaritan women, when Jesus was at the Jacobs well he preached Gospel to her that is about living waters which if she drinks she will never be thirsty again, she believed and brought rest of her family to salvation, that is faith we want in our lives while believing the scriptures. DawnMc13
By Rehab making the choice to hide the spies it shows that she has sided with them. Her reason given is that she has heard about the actions of their God and has determined the their God was more powerful than the gods of Jerico. She reorders her life because of this belief and takes great risks personally in hiding the spies. We need this same faith - that reorders our lives against the culture around us that serves other gods. This is a saving faith.
Eilen
The fact that Rehab hid the men shows her belief in God. As she claimed, she knew that God had already given the land to Israel. She was willing to help them achieve their goal. She believes that Yahweh has mighty power over all things on earth. He controls everything. She knows that He performs miracles as in the parting of the Red sea to save the Israelites. She has already seen what God has done for his people. c) Rehab has very deep faith since believes that God can conquer all. She had faith that she and her family would be saved when Joshua’s army invaded the land. d) One has to have faith in God being the only one who can save us no matter what situation we find ourselves. We have to remember that is God who guides the doctor, the surgeon who might heal us. He is the medium through which all things are made possible. Throughout the bible we see instances of people being healed or saved because of their faith in God. Acts 16:31 “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” e) Unconditional faith that Jesus died for us so that we might be saved is needed for us to be saved from eternal punishment. The depth of this faith is summed up in the Gospel according to John John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. How deep is Rahab's faith? How deep a faith does someone need to have in order to be saved from the destruction of a city? From eternal punishment? Rahab seems to know what has been going on with the people of God. The Cananites have been observing. God chose his people that they might be a witness to other nations. Even though at tines they were disobedient God has used the nation he chose to be a witness to himself. It seems that Rahab has taken apon herself to embrace a belief in Yahweh -the only true God
van
Rehab indicated that she believe in Israel's God by choosing to take risk in hiding the spies Joshua sent. She believed that, "Lord our God is God in heaven above and on earth below. This shows that she had replaced her previous belief in Baal with a belief in the Lord. Rehab faith in God show in her taking a chance with her life, which if caught she would have been killed, in hiding the spies on her rooftop. Your faith must be strong in believing that God would deliver you from the destruction of the city as well as save you from eternal destruction. hanks
Q2. (Joshua 2:2-11) What indicates that Rahab believes in Israel's God Yahweh? What does she believe about Yahweh? How deep is Rahab's faith? How deep a faith does someone need to have in order to be saved from the destruction of a city? From eternal punishment? The fact that Rahab hid the two spies, at great risk to her own life, proves her faith in our Lord. She had heard all the stories about how Israel’s God had performed miracles on behalf of His people, and she realizes that Yahweh is much more powerful than the gods of Jericho. She knew about the parting of the Red Sea, as well as the victories over Sihon and Og, the mighty kings of the Amorites. She also knew that they were not too far away on the other side of the Jordan about to enter Canaan. Her faith was deep, just like the faith of someone who needed to be saved from the destruction of the city. It was a faith based on what she had heard about the mighty working of God, so she put her trust in His power and mercy. It was such a deep faith that she bet her life on it. It is the same deep faith required to be saved from the destruction of a city. However, it is unlike our saving faith, were we put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life with God. We don’t only believe what the Bible says about who Jesus is and what He has accomplished, but we also fully trust Him for our salvation. Jesus told us in John 14:6: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me. This is the deepest faith, a faith that we bet our eternal life on! He is the way – the only way.
Delivered
Q2. (Joshua 2:2-11) What indicates that Rahab believes in Israel's God Yahweh? Rahab’s faith was indicated by her actions of ‘loyalty’ to the God of Israel, actions that showed kindness to the two spies from Israel. Q3. What does she believe about Yahweh? Rahab believes Israel’s God has power over the whole universe, that the God of Israel can do whatever he pleases in the heavens and on the earth, countries are at His disposal, that He is the all powerful, Almighty God. Q4. How deep is Rahab's faith? The depth of her faith was revealed in that Rahab feared the God of Israel, her works revealed faith springing deep from within her heart, actions full of strength and courage as she stood against the enemies of Israel. Q5. How deep a faith does someone need to have in order to be saved from the destruction of a city and from eternal punishment? All have been given a measure of “faith” to believe and the believer is called to live by their faith, for God knows our works and our thoughts, thereby our works of righteousness will be accepted as a sweet aroma up to God; It is through faith in the Messiah in which we receive ‘STRENGTH’ that enables the believer to walk the walk of faith, strength to tread the narrow road, for it is through faith in action that we are able to fight a good fight, to finish our course, never forgetting that the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness. The fact that Rahab confesses "that the Lord your God is God in heaven above and earth below" indicates she has faith in the Hebrew God Yahweh. She believes Yahweh is the true God of heaven and earth. Her faith in God is deep enough that she risk her life to hide the spies. For someone to be saved from the destruction of their city their faith in God must be deep and true. Gladys E.
By hiding the spies and kyi g to her own people indicates that Rahab had believed in Israel's God. She believed that the God of Israel is the God of heaven and earth and He has given Jericho to the Isrealites. Your faith must be so deep that you can do anything that is pleasing to God without thinking about anything detrimental to you, and you would be saved from eternal punishment. Stanley Tavaziva
Q2. (Joshua 2:2-11) What indicates that Rahab believes in Israel's God Yahweh? What does she believe about Yahweh? How deep is Rahab's faith? How deep a faith does someone need to have in order to be saved from the destruction of a city? From eternal punishment? Rahab recognized something that many of the Israelites did not—the God of heaven is not an ordinary god! He is all powerful. The people of Jericho were afraid because they had heard the news of God’s extraordinary power in defeating the armies across the Jordan River. Today we can worship this same powerful, miracle-working God. Our God is powerful enough to destroy mighty, wicked armies, as he did in Jericho. He is also powerful enough to save us from certain death, as he did with Rahab.
Debra Grant
Q2. (Joshua 2:2-11) What indicates that Rahab believes in Israel's God Yahweh? What does she believe about Yahweh? How deep is Rahab's faith? How deep a faith does someone need to have in order to be saved from the destruction of a city? From eternal punishment? 1. Rahab has heard stories of the Hebrews who have been encamped just across Jordan in Shittim. She had heard of their God and the miracles he has performed on behalf of his people. 2. Jews' God has led them to victory in war and has power over nature, Rahab sees Yahweh as greater than Jericho's gods. Yahweh is superior. 3. Rahab, sides with the true God at risk to her own life. Her confession of faith, "the LORD your God is God in heaven above and on earth below," shows that she had replaced her previous belief in Baal (to whom were attributed those characteristics), with a belief in the LORD. Her faith is strong enough to believe that God is worth trying. 4. Robyn G.
Rehab believes because she has heard the stories and not only thought of what they mean, she's concluded God is more powerful and dominate over Jericho's gods. Her fear and assertion led her to not only talk to the spies, but to aide them with help and turn against the powers in Jericho. She believes God is more powerful than other gods. She believes He has given their land to His people. Rehab has very deep faith. The Israelites have experienced God's miracles and blessings and they grumble and complain. Rehab has only hears of His power and not even witnessing personally, she believes. She confesses God's reign and then risks her life to serve without ever experiencing it. Faith must include action and obedience. Simply knowing doesn't demonstrate our acceptance. God loves us and has many instances where he saves people from judgment because of their faith. To really believe, we must stand firm in convictions despite consequences and adversaries. Faith is the acknowledgement of believing put into action. As for eternal punishment, it is clear---there is only one way. We must acknowledge and believe in Christ dying for our sins and the love that portrays, but that intellectual aspect is not enough. We must have action to our faith, we must turn away from sin and work for the glory of God's kingdom. Faith is not easy, if it was God's promise to never leave us or forsake us wouldn't be necessary. How deep is Rahab's faith? How deep a faith does someone need to have in order to be saved from the destruction of a city? From eternal punishment? Rahab acts to protect the spies and acknowledges God as her God. She trusts in Him at risk of her own life. She believes God has power over hers and that Jericho will fall if he says so. Her faith is deep enough to deny her own gods and her own king. She trusted enough to put out a scarlet cloth to identify her as committed to the Israelites and their God
Lissette Trahan
Joshua 2:11 "And as soon as we had heard [these things], our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he [is] God in heaven above, and in earth beneath." “God in heaven above, and in earth beneath”: She confessed the realization that He is the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all that exists, therefore the Supreme One. The recognition of God for who He is will get a person saved. Rahab has fulfilled the Scripture in Romans: Romans 10:10 "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Rahab does not know this God of Israel personally, but she believes in her heart that He is truly God. Rahab realizes the idols are not real. She expresses here, that the LORD, He is God of everyone. This type of faith gets God's attention. The sinful life she is living cannot keep her from being redeemed. God will wash her and make her sins white as snow. This is the type of faith that makes us Christians.
charisbarak
She had heard about the exploits of the Israelites and how God had saved them in many ways I think she believed all that was said about Him and desired Him above any other gods. She had a very deep faith. She acted on that faith when she invited the spies in and hid them. She also believed the spies when they told her how they would save her & her family. That same belief (trust) is there for salvation.

Anstey Jeremiah
Q2) By her statement of faith or confession of Jo 2:11; and in that we learn two things (1) .. fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and (2) faith comes by hearing (what the Lord did to the Egyptians, Og and Simon. Note she did not attribute this to the man Moses). By not attributing God's victory over the Armorites to man, Rahab shows that she believes that God is responsible for everything in heaven and on the earth. Her faith and I believe, her prayers to Yahweh, caused her to believe that God would find a way to save herself and, her encounter with the spies could well have been an answer to her prayers. She may have thought then dying for treason was worth her effort to seek the God of Israel and let Him know that she acknowledges Him as "God of heaven and the Earth".
