Rosie1Rose
Q3. (3:4-6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? How does one gain character? Why is true character so important and precious to God? How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? I don't believe we can cultivate inner beauty, it is a gift from God that grows upon us as we spend time in His Presence and slowly grow more like Him. God is purity and holiness. Sin and all its ugliness hurts Him, so a beautiful character is going to be important and precious to Him. It shows the world the one true God. People are always attracted to beautiful characters. It fills a need in their lives because people like that are solid, real and dependable.
Rebecca M
Inner beauty, or personal growth, requires consistent effort as does anything worth cultivating. Bible studies and biblically based books are wonderful tools to stay on track with the values and characteristics of inner beauty. Prayer is also necessary in this pursuit. Character is developed through experiences God gives us - the more we communicate with God during those experiences, the more we develop godly characteristics. True character is important to God because it cannot be corrupted...just as Jesus wasn't tempted by Satan. I believe that a godly woman who continues to develop her inner beauty and who marries a discerning and righteous man will not just "hang on to him", but make the marriage very positive, loving, and fulfilling for both of them. paulcrf
Q3. (3:4-6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? How does one gain character? Why is true character so important and precious to God? How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? A person cultivates inner beauty by yielding regularly to the Spirit of God and letting the Spirit reign in your life. From the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit comes his fruits- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. One gains character by imitating the character of Christ. True character is the Character of Christ. Jesus Christ is God's beloved son so is His character. A heart,no matter how "hard" will be caused to "melt" when pored out with faith, obedience, righteousness, and love. The character of Christ will win any heart. God's child
Q3. (3:4-6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? How does one gain character? Why is true character so important and precious to God? How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? By placing our heart and hope on the things of God and by using the struggles He allows to come into our lives to draw us towards a more loving and intimate relationship with Him. Our inner beauty comes out of the loving relationship we have with our Lord. Good character also comes from the struggles we face and by trusting God to guide us safely through these struggles, valleys, and the mountains of our lives. Through Him we gain our inner strength and the struggles and walking by faith build our character. If our husbands see us facing the trials of our life with faith in God and sees the peace in us that can only come from God during these hard times it makes our husbands feel more secure in the marriage relationship. I think most men want a wife of good character and an inner beauty.

How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? The first step to cultivate inner beauty would be to submit ones life totally to God, serving the lord inn all that you do. As your submission grows deeper the fruits of the spirit will begin to manifest through your daily life and it will become apparent to all that the Lord is working in and through your life. servant for Christ
Q3. (3:4-6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? How does one gain character? Why is true character so important and precious to God? How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? We cultivate our inner beauty by showing reverence, having purity, being gentle, and being at peace with ourself. We gain character by having faith, being obedient, living in righteousness, and having courage to live the life that God wants us to live through him. True character is important to God because he wants us to be the person he created us to be. In his image, so we have to have his character, and be our true selfs because he knows us better than we know ourselves. I think character can help a woman because she will have joy, peace, righteousness, purity, faith, and courage to get her through. She will be believing and trusting God totally. She will be living her life so that her husband will see God through her.
Gann
Q3. (3:4-6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? We cultivate inner beauty when we allow the Lord to have full control of our lives and every thing we do magnifies His name and not promoting ourselves. How does one gain character? By allowing God to work in our lives and doing those things He asks us to do. Then when others see how the Lord works in our lives that builds character. Why is true character so important and precious to God? When we are submitting to the Lord and allowing Him to be our guide and leader to build a character of Christlikeness then are we pleasing to God. For this opens the door for others to see His glory and come unto Him for salvation. How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? When a woman is submissive and true to God and her husband no matter how the husband act or treats her, she can shine a light of Christ to him so that he two can come to Christ and be more submissive. Therefore drawing closer to the Lord and herself through Christ building a greater relationship.
hanks
Q3. (3:4-6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? How does one gain character? Why is true character so important and precious to God? How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? It is by joining our life to the life of Jesus that the Holy Spirit will start producing the character traits found in Jesus (John 15:4-5). We must know Jesus, love Him, and imitate Him, then the fruit of the Spirit will grow in us and give us that inner beauty. It is not possible to do this on our own, we need His help and the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Being like His Son is important and precious to God. We will be putting all our faith in Jesus, we will be living a righteous life of obedience to Him. Any husband will count himself most fortunate and will want to hold onto such a precious jewel. royk
Q3. (3:4-6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? How does one gain character? Why is true character so important and precious to God? How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? If we listen to Jesus, we get the basic lesson - LOVE GOD FIRST AND FOREMOST! Say "Holy Spirit - please teach me to LOVE GOD and BE CLOSER TO HIM. name, Amen" Then we turn it all over to HIM and our work is done. We need to ask for this every day, and ask God to break our hearts, from earthly things, every day. A Christian man can apply this just as well as a Christian woman. Old Jerry
A person can cultivate inner beauty by being submissive to God. When we are doing what God wants us to us will be building up inner beauty. One gains character by being connected to the bible. It will always guide us in the right direction. Character is so important and precious to God because that is what is in us deep down and not what is at the surface. Character can help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband because he knows that he can trust her. When he sees that she is doing something that is pleasing, he will probably also want to do something pleasing.
Guitar Jim
Q3. (3:4-6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? By having the quiet confidence that comes from faith in God. Most of the people I've met whom I'd describe as having inner beauty also have a kind of serenity that they don't have to constantly work at to achieve. It shines through in all they say and do. That attribute can only come from continually submitting to the Holy Spirit and taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. How does one gain character? Again, submission to the Holy Spirit will produce the gifts of the Holy spirit: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Anyone possessing these characteristics will be of good character. Why is true character so important and precious to God? Because true character is the result of a life lived in obedience to God. He likes to see the positive results in our lives of our faithfulness to Him. How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? Any normal man would be more than happy to have a wife who possesses the character we've been discussing here. There's a treasure more precious than gold in a wife who has the gifts of the Holy Spirit in evidence every day.

Why is true character so important and precious to God? How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? A person can cultivate inner beauty by having faith in God, being obedient to him, living a righteous life and have courage to stand up against fear. Character is developed by having a submissive heart to God and spouse, being obedient and ready to serve. True character is precious to God because it brings him joy to see that we are obedient to his commands and submissive to their spouse. Having a joy full heart also brings joy to God because he see's wives are confident and faithful to God. Wives by living a submissive life to God and spouse will help win over a husband who is a non-believer. He see's her joy full heart, attitude and obedient life. Joe_Applegarth
How does a person cultivate inner beauty? The cultivation of “inner beauty” requires an inner peace that arises out of a firm belief, trust and love of God. First and foremost, be humble, love others and always put your Christianity on display to glorify the Lord God. When you do people will see your inner beauty and feel safe and secure around you. That kind of love reflects your love of God whereas the love of self is egotistical, false and arrogant. Secondly, always be kind and caring and before you speak or act ask yourself this one question, “does what I’m doing (or saying), or about to do (or say) glorify God?” Third, always be humble. Inner beauty also comes from the recognition that you are a human being who has flaws and imperfections that can be overcome by living a life of service to God and to the people around us. The bottom line is, your inner beauty comes from true faith, godliness and a love of others but most of all faith in the Living God through His son Jesus Christ. How does one gain character? Why is true character so important and precious to God? Character is a collection of moral and ethical values that comes from faith in God, a strong Christian foundation and by living our lives with the full understanding that God created us for a higher purpose. Character comes by living a righteous, godly life. The answer to this question is in the words of Paul: “May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.” (Philippians 1:11)

Celtic Wanderer
Q3. (3:4‐6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? How does one gain character? By becoming more Christ-like. Learning of Him, hearing his voice and following in His steps. Yielding to the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives and therefore bearing fruit. This is a lifetime project. Why is true character so important and precious to God? God sees the inner beauty of our hearts and lives as being of “great worth". We are created in His image and a good character reflects Him. How can character help a Christian woman "WIN" and "HANG ON TO HER HUSBAND?" This question has implications that I find offensive and potentially accusatory!! Please, revise or remove this question so that it does not reflect worldly attitudes towards women and their responsibility to hang on to her husband. This can not be your intention and meaning! JanMary
On 3/4/2004 at 9:50 PM, Pastor Ralph said: Q3. (3:4-6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? How does one gain character? Why is true character so important and precious to God? How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? 1. Inner beauty is our character and personality. It's the Lord who changes and shapes our lives and character, and Who develops and grows the Fruit of His Spirit (Galatians 5:22,23) BUT, our role is to yield and surrender to His process. We help to facilitate His fruit in us as we spend time in His Word, position ourselves to receive from sound teaching, and through prayer and yielding to His Lordship in our lives. Inner beauty is His character reproduced in us. "A gentle and peaceful spirit is precious to God" I Peter 3:4b. 2. We are new Creatures in Christ when we receive His gift of Salvation, and the process begins as we renew our minds with His Word, and begin to think His thoughts, and to see things from His perspective as we spend lots of time in His Presence, yielded to His Lordship. Phil 1:6 tells us that "He Who began a good work in us will continue until the day of His return, developing that good work and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in us." "More of Him, less of me" 3. Our character is precious to God because that was the sole purpose for Jesus coming to earth....to buy us back from the devil's grip and to redeem us and remake us anew into His image through grace to populate the earth and Heaven. 4. Jesus' character is so lovely, appealing and attractive...we are drawn to Him because of His love and gentleness. His character in us make us appealing and lovely in the same way to those around us, including our husbands (for those who are married). That character bids a woman to fit in with her husband rather than battling for supremacy in the relationship, and to be the helpmeet God designed her to be to her husband.
