Q1. (John 1:1-5, 14) When did Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origins? In what sense were they hidden while he was on earth? In what sense were they still present?

Before the world began.  Jesus, the Word of God.  John makes it clear that Christ's origins are "in the beginning with God."

"  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Hidden - Came as a man, ate, drank, had parents, brothers and sisters.  Still present - performed miracles, healed the sick, cast out demons, raised the dead, without sin, holy.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. People of darkness did not receive Him.  He brought the light of the Glorious Kingdom to dark earth, and set it ablaze. But to as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God. John 1:12a

Jesus glory and kingly origin began in the beginning with God the Father. He was there (God the Son) when the world was created and along with God the Holy Spirit, is co-chair of the world.

While on earth Christ glory and kingly origin was hidden through Him being born human. What people saw was a man teaching about the Kingdom, not knowing that He was fully God and fully human.

Jesus glory and kingly origin were still present through Christ ministry on earth. It can be seen through Him casting out demons, raising the dead, loving all mankind, and healing people. Being the Son of the living God, Christ was able to perform everything He done. He went from place to place teaching about the Kingdom.

Q1. (John 1:1-5, 14)
When did Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origins?
In what sense were they hidden while He was on earth?
In what sense were they still present?

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ did not have a beginning because He existed from all eternity.
He was never created - He always existed.

While He was here on earth He veiled His glory in a body of flesh.
When He became flesh, it did not mean that He ceased to be God – He was still Divine.
However, in coming to earth as a man, He became subject to all the conditions of our human existence.
He was subject to temptation, and He could have sinned.
We see this in the gospels where both His human weakness and His divine majesty are showed.

Nevertheless, while here on earth His glory was still present, and visible.
There was no flaw or blemish in Him – He was perfect in everything.
His reputation glory was shown to all by all the amazing things He did.
Through His perfection and excellence His glory radiated onto those while they remained in fellowship with Him.
There was also the visible outshining of His glory which took place on the Mount of Transfiguration (Matthew 17:1-2).
Being God, He still possessed His inherent glory - the glory that belongs to Him alone.
Ultimately, the glory the disciples saw told them that He was truly the Son of God.

Q1. (John 1:1-5, 14) When did Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origins? In what sense were they hidden while he was on earth? In what sense were they still present?

There was never a time when Jesus glory and kingly authority did not exist.

There was a time when He was on earth that He laid His power, glory aside.  He went about as a man but He was still fully God.

They were  still present in His miracles, His wisdom, and at the transfiguration.

God Bless!

Jesus’ glory and kingly authority was at the beginning of creation.  He was there in the beginning with God.  “ In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God’  John 1:1-2”

When Jesus was on earth, He showed his humanity, humility and preached the word of His Father to all.  He sought to fulfill  His father’s plan of salvation to all mankind.  He did not show His heavenly powers, even to Satan who tempted him in the wilderness.

His glory was present because He healed the sick, raised the dead, casted out devils

Q1. (John 1:1-5, 14) When did Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origins? In what sense were they hidden while he was on earth? In what sense were they still present?

A. He is the creator God....Who was before anything was created. The Self Existent, all Glorious One, the King of the Universe.

B. His glory was hidden in human flesh. In the wilderness tabernacle the topmost covering was dolphin or badger skin, concealing the glory inside. A type and shadow of our glorious Lord while on earth. He was humble and lowly and meek, and yet He had a Kingly bearing. His speech stunned His hearers, and they wanted to kill Him when he spoke about Who He was....the Messiah, the promised One. His glory was present and revealed when He performed the miraculous....healing, restoring life to the dead, feeding thousands with a few fish and loaves of bread. His glory shone on the cross when He forgave His murderers, and reviled them not, and when He was beaten and spat upon and did not retaliate with words or actions...the perfect lamb being led to the slaughter for you and me.

Q1.

a)     (John 1:1-5, 14) When did Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origins?

The Gospel of John, clearly asserts the pre-existence and coexistence of the Word and God, as written “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God.” (1:1) Jesus, the Lord of Glory, was Life and the Life was the light of all people. (1:4) And that Glory He had with the Father shined over darkness, which could not overcome the Glorious Light. (1:5)

B)    In what sense were they hidden while he was on earth??

Can God cease to be God ? Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). I personally do not think the Glory of Jesus was hidden when He was on earth. I’d like to believe that the people during Jesus’ era did not understand the Divine mysteries He was unfolding. Did Jesus not say, “I and the Father are One.” (John 10:30) What was the reaction of the people ? Did they not pick up stones to stone Him.

Jesus, who is God, who lived among humans, was full of Divinity, Grace and Truth. His own twelve were unable to understand Him. “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and you still do not know me? (John 14:9) Many today are still skeptical of Jesus’ Divine nature.

c)     In what sense were they still present

Many of the blessings which come from the Glory of Jesus is still very much present today. The Church, the people of God still stand in awe and astonished by the many miracles done in Jesus’ name – the cure of sicknesses and physical disabilities – the overcoming of human miseries – the power of Satan broken in Jesus’ name through exorcisms just to name a few. Jesus is incredibly present, though not in Person but in Spirit and his Glory endures forever.

Q1. (John 1:1-5, 14)

Q. When did Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origins?

A. In the beginning [as scripture say " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God..." John 1:1] But God has no beginning!!!

Q. In what sense were they hidden while he was on earth?

A. I think His glory and authority were not fully revealed because the Word became flesh, thus His human nature might have been the reason why these attributes of Jesus were not fully expressed.

Q. In what sense were they still present?

A. Being also God, Jesus had glory and power which were seen by the disciples as he performed miracles and at the transfiguration.

1. John makes it clear that Christ's origins (if you can call them that) are "in the beginning with God."

2. Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:15-17)

3. Jesus brought the light of the Glorious Kingdom to dark earth, and set it ablaze.

When did Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origins.

John1:1 declares in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. Jesus glory and authority began in the beginning with God. Jesus glory preceded time itself.

In what sense were they hidden while he was on the earth.

His glory and authority was not hidden.

verse 2 states in him was life and the life was the light of men. In Jesus day man couldn't comprehend the glory that was in him, because of his {man's} dark heart. II Cor.4:3 says, But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them who are lost.

In what sense were they still present.

Verse 5 states: And the light shines in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not. Although man in Jesus day rejected him, he brought the light of the glorious kingdom to dark earth and it ablaze. The light always out shine darkness.

Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origin from befoe the beginning of time, he is one with the Father.

These origins of Christ were hidden from everyone while he was on earth because he came not for his own glory but for the glory of the Father

Jesus origins, while hidden from all, but the disciples, Through his works that displayed his authority by raising the dead, healing the sick

and walking on water showed his authority through the god head. He did works and spoke as the Father told him to do.

1.  And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.  John 17:5

2. Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
    rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,

    being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man
,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death
        even death on a cross!
Philippians 2:6-8

3.   The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father,      full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Q1. (John 1:1-5, 14) When did Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origins? In what sense were they hidden while he was on earth? In what sense were they still present?

The Word was an agent of creation (Psalms 33:6), the source of God’s message to his people through the prophets (Hosea 4:1), and God’s law, his standard of holiness (Psalms119:11). In Greek philosophy, the Word was the principle of reason that governed the world, or the thought still in the mind, while in Hebrew thought, the Word was another expression for God.

John’s description shows clearly that he is speaking of Jesus a human being he knew and loved, but at the same time the Creator of the universe, the ultimate revelation of God, the living picture of God’s holiness, the one who “holds all creation together”  To Jewish readers, to say this man Jesus “was God” was blasphemous. To Greek readers, “the Word became human”  was unthinkable. To John, this new understanding of the Word was the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Jesus glory and kingly authority has origins much before the creation of the world, but we can see his statement in the book of proverbs 8:23-30 speaks clearly how He was in the creation, and John in the new testament 1st chapter clearly states about the light which has come to the world which is dark but the darkness did not recognise nor received it.

Hidden -  in the sense that He was son of man in human, ate slept cried drank etc, performed miracles healed sick cast out demons and raised the dead, lived holy unblemished and sinless.

At present they are still present, as he told his disciples they will perform greater miracles then him and bring people to salvation, now we see that happening.

When did Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origins?

In the “beginning” was the Word but I don’t think there was hardly a beginning when He was with God from the beginning but God has always been. The only other explanation for that would be that Jesus was with God since His beginning, as He is the first-born but that is going into some deep, heavy ground which I can’t answer so no further comment on that one.

In what sense were they hidden while he was on earth?

They were hidden, so to speak as Jesus came to earth as one born of man, or, “Son of Man”, as He always referred to Himself and He didn’t come as the King who would sit on David’s throne in the manner that Saul, David, or Solomon, etc., did.

In what sense were they still present?

They were still present though through the miracles He did and the wisdom and especially the humility shown by Jesus.

" 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3  All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4  In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." (John 1:1-5)

Q1. (John 1:1-5, 14) When did Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origins?

This passage of scripture indicates for all time and there does not seem to be a point of origin - it has always been. Conveying this in language is rather primitive because to believe in Jesus is to believe in the heart which for human kind starts with the first heartbeat, since we do not really feel any other point in time, it is with the believer's first heart beat, in fact it is why the heart beats.

In what sense were they hidden while he was on earth?

In the sense that Jesus lived as one of us, that our lives can hide the glory of God. The Way we live can hide the Glory of God. Our struggle is to uncover the Glory of God in our daily lives.

In what sense were they still present?

In our journey to uncover the Glory of God we reveal to ourselves the presence that has in a sense never left us but can be difficult to find in our daily lives.

The darkness appears to have always been as well but does not hold authority once the Light of Jesus's Glory shines. For each of us this is so personal that sometimes it can't be put into words but is thought and feeling which is shared with Jesus.

Christ's origins: in the beginning (Word was with God and in "us" in Genesis; He is co-creator; always there before time itself; before all things

Present: miracles (occasions seen)

Not Hidden: considering light and darkness in this life (not understanding the importance); we have an expectation of His power

When did Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origins? In what sense were they hidden while he was on earth? In what sense were they still present?

Answer:"I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began." (John 17:4-5)............so Jesus glory and kingly authority started before the world began.

Jesus' glory and kingly authority began when he was in heaven seated at the right hand of our Father in heaven.  They were hidden on this earth as Jesus wanted to call attention to his ministry more than his being.  His kingly authority are present through his miracles and answered or unanswered prayers.
