lighthouse2014
On 3/4/2004 at 11:51 PM, Pastor Ralph said: Q4. (3:7) Why should a husband relate to his wife with knowledge and wisdom? In what way does this demonstrate love? In what way does this demonstrate self-interest? Why do men sometimes try to dominate their wives? Why do wives sometimes try to dominate their husbands? What harm does this do? How is domination of another person contrary to God's nature?ece A husband should relate to his wife with knowledge and wisdom because though she is physically weaker with him she still his equal in the marriage. By honouring his wife he demonstrating his love and respect for her. This also shows that her husband has not lost his respect for her even though later in life she will lose her outer beauty. Some men try or do dominate their wives because they consider them to have the lesser intelligence and importance. Dominating a person is of course against God's nature. The Lord is not a respecter of individuals but sees all people of equal importance.

Husbands should relate with their wives with wisdom and knowledge because both are children of the most high god with equal spiritual destinies and destination. They both look forward to the promised life after death. More so, the Lord Jesus Christ had great respect form women Some cultures treat women as subservient and some even treat women as servants. This is grossly wrong and in-Christly. There are situations when some women particularly those that are politically or economically more highly placed tend to have a tendency of pride that leads to acting more superior to their husbands. This is wrong as it is contrary to God's nature and design for our relationship as husband and wife.
charisbarak
Because the wife is the weaker vessel. Besides, God said it! He has taken the time & foresight to really care and see his wife and her needs. Domination----everything for me ruins marriages.

Commissioned
Q4. (3:7) Why should a husband relate to his wife with knowledge and wisdom? In what way does this demonstrate love? In what way does this demonstrate self-interest? Why do men sometimes try to dominate their wives? Why do wives sometimes try to dominate their husbands? What harm does this do? How is domination of another person contrary to God's nature? A husband should relate to his wife with knowledge and wisdom so that nothing hinders his prayers, his communion with God. This demonstrates love because it give honor not only to the wife but also to God. This demonstrates self-interest because the husband should see his wife as one with him. Men and women sometimes try to dominate each other because of erroneous teachings and poor social upbringing that is a part of the old adam and not yet crucified. In any relationship this will be harmful because it shows a disrespect and is contrary to God's nature because He tells us to submit to each other. hmmk
I think people try to dominate each other sometimes when they are insecure. If we would realize the security and honor that God has extended to us - we would find it much easier not to push our own wills and rest in His.
