That we dont get to choose the gifts we want or have, they are distributed to us by the Holy Spirit, according to Fathers will for our lives and purpose for our calling. He created us for His purpose and pleasure, therefore gives to us spiritual gifts according to His plan.

What is the role of the Holy Spirit in spiritual gifts?

He is the distributor. He knows exactly what we need when we need it, according to Fathers plan.

All the spiritual gifts are given to us by the Holy Spirit

For me, the important lessons to learn from this verse is everyone has a gift. Every single Christian! Those who do not know their gifts must still possess one. The choice of gifts is not ours, and the giver of gifts is the Holy Spirit Himself.
