Commissioned
Day 18 Meditation (Revelation 20:12). What do the records contain that are opened before the throne of God on Judgment Day? The Books that are opened before the throne of God on Judgment Day contain all our deeds done in this life. How do they differ from the Lamb’s Book of Life? The differ from the Lamb's Book of Life in that they contain all of the activities of those whose names are recorded in the Lamb's Book of Life, those who ill be citizens of the New Jerusalem. How is it “fair” that we escape judgment by having our names written there, even though we have committed many sins? It is fair that our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life even though we have committed sins because our Omniscient Heavenly Father, as the Alpha and Omega, knew that at the end of time those who would repent of sins and accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Who paid the price to make it “fair” and just? Jesus Christ, the sacrifical Lamb made it "fair" and just for us to have our names written in the Lamb's Book of Life when He died on the cross. He died in our place so that we would have eternal life.
LLS
Day 18 Meditation (Revelation 20:12). What do the records contain that are opened before the throne of God on Judgment Day? The books recorded our deeds done on earth, works that done in obedient and evidences of our belonging to Christ. How do they differ from the Lamb’s Book of Life? Salvation is secured for all who names are written in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain, saved not on the basis of works but on the basis of Christ's being slain. How is it “fair” that we escape judgment by having our names written there, even though we have committed many sins? Who paid the price to make it “fair” and just? It is "fair" and "just" that we escape judgment because God in His mercy and love has given His Son, Jesus Christ to pay the penalty of our sins by dying on the cross. For God himself had provided the perfect sacrificial Lamb, Christ as a ransom for our sins. So, whoever confess the name of Jesus and believe in His Son escape judgment and has passed from death to life.
Old Jerry
The records that are opened before the throne of God on Judgment Day is the one that contains the deeds that we did when we were here on earth. But it is not our deeds that get us into heaven it is God grace that gets us there. So the Lamb’s Book of Life are those that God has given grace to enter into heaven. The only “fair” thing about our names being written the Book of Life is that Jesus died for my sins.
Wayne Hall
Some hear the Word, yet they do not allow it to take root because the seduction of worldly pleasures and comfort overcomes them. Others end up rejecting the Word because of persecution or trials. Others hear the Word and open themselves to understand and accept it so that it transforms them. Those who have “ears to hear” allow the Word to bear fruit to the glory of God. It is up to the hearer to decide whether to take the Word seriously and pursue understanding; only a few are willing—the rest have ears, but they do not have “ears to hear” (Matthew 7:13–14, 24–27). Whenever Jesus says, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear,” He is calling for people to pay careful heed. It’s another way of saying, “Listen up! Pay close attention!” Speaking in parables was one way in which Jesus sought to gain the attention of the crowds —people love stories, and the parables depicted events and characters with which they could readily relate. But unless they were willing to tune out other distractions and come to Jesus to understand the meaning of His preaching, His words would be only empty stories. They needed more than ears, however keen they were; they needed ears to hear. There will always be some disagreement about whether certain texts are to be taken literally or figuratively and to what degree, as evidenced by disagreements over the book of Revelation, even among those who have high regard for Scripture. For a text to be interpreted allegorically or figuratively, there needs to be justification in the text itself or something in the cultural background of the original readers that would have led them to understand the text symbolically. The goal of every interpreter who has a high view of Scripture is to discover the intended meaning of the text. If the intended meaning is simply the literal communication of a historical fact or the straightforward explanation of a theological truth, then that is the inspired meaning. If the intended meaning is allegorical/typological/symbolic/figurative, then the interpreter should find some justification for it in the text and in the culture of the original hearers/readers https://www.gotquestions.org/allegorical-interpretation.html
t-c
18 Meditation (Revelation 20:12). What do the records contain that are opened before the throne of God on Judgment Day? How do they differ from the Lamb’s Book of Life? How is it “fair” that we escape judgment by having our names written there, even though we have committed many sins? Who paid the price to make it “fair” and just? A record of what we did with the gifts God gave us (our time, talent and treasure), to make Christ known. To give a cup of cold water to someone in need in the name of Jesus. How we loved those that God put in our lives. We are at this judgement because we have salvation in Christ. This determines what we did with our salvation in Christ. I don't really know if fair is the right word to describe it. So much of life seems unfair. But those who trusted in, relied upon, and clung to Jesus Christ for salvation will be saved. And God is the perfect judge so if He deems it to be right then you know that it is. Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe. Sin has left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow. Thank you Lord Jesus!
haar
Day 18 Meditation (Revelation 20:12). Q. What do the records contain that are opened before the throne of God on Judgment Day? A. Record of list of the people of God, their deeds and the reward for each person. Q. How do they differ from the Lamb's Book of Life? How is it "fair" that we and Saaccescape judgment by having our names written there, even though we have committed many sins? Who paid the price to make it "fair" and just? A. The difference: the Lamb's Book of Life on the other hand contains names of the redeemed ones by grace alone and not by any merit or works. And the price was paid by the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross for me and every one that believes and accepts Him as Lord and Saviour.

How do they differ from the Lamb’s Book of Life? How is it “fair” that we escape judgment by having our names written there, even though we have committed many sins? Who paid the price to make it “fair” and just? According to my Bible it states that those who don't believe in Christ will have to bear the weight of their sins and penalty of them and also be cast into the lake of fire eventually. For once we appear before Christ our character and eternal destination is determined by the Lord. Records - are all of the people listed according to whether or not accepted Jesus Christ and their deeds and what their rewards are. It is different in the fact that it is not based on the blood of Jesus Christ but on what they did. It is based on the price paid by the Lord when He died on the cross and how every one who accepts Him will be in the Lamb's Book of Life. The Book of the deeds of the people, and the people whose names are written in the Book of Life. b. The Book of the deeds of people whether they were good or bad - vs - The Lambs Book of Life wherein are inscribed the names of the blood-bought citizens of the New Jerusalem. c. Book of Life citizens escape judgment because God in His mercy sent His Son Jesus to die on a cross for us and for the sin of the whole world and as we accept the Grace of God by faith, we receive that mercy. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians. 2:8-9) also Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." (John 5:24) d. Menberu Adane
The word of God tells us that thos who are cleansed in the blood of the lamb, as Jesus told to Nicodemus, are born again from God. Thus, their names is written in the book of life, as they lived with grace day by day getting the mercy and forgiveness of God, throne of grace, though they fall and feel exhausted, but seeking forgiveness every time. That is their ramification as opposed to those who have no salvation because they are not born again by the blood of the lamb, for the lamb to use the book of life to be their testimony. Hence, they are judged by what they did only, naked, and will be paid their wage which is death, because no man is worthy before the holy God unless covered by the blood of the lamb. Jesus is worthy of opening the seven seals of the book in the hand of God in the temple. That always marvelous me day and night that why I am able to get salvation, when multitudes of those who excel me in humanly perspectives are blinded. Thank you Jesu, and help me reach this hope. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

What do the records contain that are opened before the throne of God on Judgment Day? This is the Great White Throne judgment (The Father judges no one.) where Jesus, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah and Judge of the whole earth is seated, to reward all whose names are recorded in the Lambs Book of Life, for their deeds done through the Holy Spirit, in their walk of faith. (for the things done in the flesh for recognition, that is the only reward, those will be burned up as wood, hay and stubble. (Luke 16: 19-31 Jesus speaks to the Pharisees of this time. Jesus also taught about what the servants did with the talents given to them and their suitable reward for each...or in the case of the foolish servant his was taken away and given to the one who had 10 through investing (in the kingdom) Mt.25:14-30) Rev. 20 is about accountability for every life lived, each one precious to our Lord, saved or not, each ones lungs filled with His breath. All who rejected God's free gift of salvation and eternal life through Jesus, and whose names are not written in the Book will be sentenced and thrown into the Lake of Fire , which is the second death. v15).Jesus speaks of this separation in Mt:7:13,14; Mark 9:42, Luke 16:19 and to this time of judgment. 2. How is it fair that we escape judgment by having our names written there, even though we have committed many sins? Grace is the free gift offered to every living soul....a "Fair" and Free" gift to receive or to reject. Those who would cry "foul!" had the same opportunity as you and I, but chose to go their own way and rejected this priceless gift. 3. Who paid the price to make if "fair" and just? Our precious and glorious Savior and King, Jesus the Christ! How we praise and thank you, gracious Lord!

There's a book that records ones deeds in life, and another that lists the names of people that will be citizens of the New Jerusale. How do they differ from the Lamb’s Book of Life? This is a book which names the people who were were saved through the Lamb's sacrifice. These are people who do not have to face judgement because they have already been given eternal life. How is it “fair” that we escape judgment by having our names written there, even though we have committed many sins? If our names are in the Book of Life, it was pre-determined that Jesus knew who would believe and be saved. Of course it is fair. Who paid the price to make it “fair” and just? Jesus paid to save us by allowing himself to be sacrificed on the cross.
hanks
Day 18 Meditation (Revelation 20:12). What do the records contain that are opened before the throne of God on Judgment Day? How do they differ from the Lamb’s Book of Life? How is it “fair" that we escape judgment by having our names written there, even though we have committed many sins? Who paid the price to make it "fair" and just? The names of all unbelievers, and all the evil deeds they have ever done, all their evil thoughts, and even all the deeds they had not done, will be recorded here. It will be a day of extreme terror when all is exposed – it will too late for excuses. There will be a Judge but no jury, a prosecution but no defence, a sentence but no appeal. No one will be able to defend himself or accuse God of unrighteousness. What an awesome scene it will be! In contrast, the Lamb’s Book of Life, will contain the names of all true believers, written in the blood of Christ. There can be no greater accomplishment than to have our name entered here, and this is only by grace since nothing that I have ever done can earn me a place in this book! It is all by mercy and grace, and the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. We are all His creatures. He owns us, created us, and has every right to do with us what He wants. God’s holiness demands fairness and justice. There must be accountability for our sins. The Cross or judgment. In fact, we all only deserve death (Rom 6:23), but God in His great love and grace has decided to elect some to spend eternity with Him. Those chosen can never do enough to express their gratitude to Him. But we can live obedient lives thanking Him. God must finally deal with sin before His new heavens and earth, and He does this on Judgment Day. If we turn our backs on Him, we will meet Him as Judge on Judgment Day without hope. Rather seek Him now, and we will find Him (Deut 4:29) and we will discover that we will be looking forward to this meeting with joy, knowing that there is now “no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Rom 8:1). Lottie
The records contain the deeds that were done by all the ones who rejected the Lord; whether they were good or evil. One had the deeds done and the other records the ones who are saved by the blood of the Lamb. Ones who are redeemed by His grace. It is fair because The lamb paid for all the sins we ever committed. We are clothed in His righteeousness. Jesus paid the price for all of us.
