Phill Haar
The blessings of the seed of Abraham was for all nations Abraham's sacrifice of his son was a test of obedience that is born of faith. God had no need of Isaac's blood but Abraham's trust and obedience. Our need in our sin was met by God's Son who, given in love, was obedient to his father not only for Abraham and his descendants but all nations. Old Jerry
The blessings that was promised through Abraham’s descendants was for the Jews. But we have been adopted because of our belief in Jesus. Abraham was going to sacrifice his only son and God did sacrifice his only son. TraceyF
Abraham's sacrifice is for all nations. Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son, just like God did. Abraham loved his son but his willingness to obey God allowed him to keep his son. As for God, he allowed his son to die as a man on earth to save us. That shows how great the obedience to God is very important.

Krissi
Abraham's sacrifice was for the Jews, but the circle of blessings increased with Christ to include everyone He chooses. We are, then, Abraham's descendants through adoption or the enlargement of the circle. The huge difference between Abraham's sacrifice of his son and God's sacrifice of Jesus is that Jesus actually died, but Issac was rescued. In both cases, a father and son were involved. Abraham obeyed and trusted God even after God demanded a human sacrifice, his son -- Jesus obeyed His father.
hanks
Q4. (Genesis 22:16-18; Galatians 3:16, 29) To whom are blessings promised through Abraham's descendant? In what way does Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac prefigure the Father's sacrifice of Jesus? The blessings are promised to the Gentiles who put their trust in God’s promise to raise His only Son from the dead. These descendants will be as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. We see the similarities between the sacrifice of Isaac in the sacrifice of Jesus. Isaac, like Jesus, is an only son, loved by his father, willing to do his father’s will, and received back from the dead. Then the ram, like Jesus, is an innocent victim that died as a substitute for another, and its bloodshed.
Katy
Q1.The promise of blessings were for all people who follow Jesus and believe He is the Son of God. Q2. Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son , his only son because God asked him to do so. God the Father was also willing to sacrifice His only Son so that our sins might be forgiven. Both Abraham and Jesus were willing to be obedient to God.
Reina
The blessings of God where and still are given, To all who become sons of God through his Son Jesus Christ. Abrahams sacrifice of Isaac was a prefigure of the sacrifice of Jesus in that it was Abrahams one and only Son. He was willing to sacrifice to God the son that he yearned for his whole life. And The Lord seeing his faith and trust and obedience sent a substitute. Likewise Jesus is our substitute. If we believe, trust, and obey. Through Abraham all the nations of the earth will be blessed because of Abraham's obedience of giving his only son. As the Father did in giving His only begotten S on and by Jesus obedience we are free and blessed. Obedience brings blessing. Jesus the one and only Seed. Galatians 3:29 If you belong to Christ then are you Abraham's Seed and heirs according to the promise. I love Dr. Wilson's mentioning of the song: "Praise God from whom all blessings flow" It has more meaning now after this lesson.
Irmela
Q4. (Genesis 22:16-18; Galatians 3:16, 29) To whom are blessings promised through Abraham's descendant? All nations of the earth are blessed through Abraham's seed. In what way does Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac prefigure the Father's sacrifice of Jesus? Isaac is the son promised to Abraham and Sarah in their old age. They have only one son. (Ishmael was by Hagar, the Egyptian maid, then there were those later by Ketura) Abraham was requested to offer Isaac, his only son. Jeshuah is God's only Son. Abraham bound Isaac and laid him on the altar and then prepared to kill him (he fully believed that God would raise him from the dead). So one can say he prepared to sacrifice his son. God did sacrifice His only begotten Son. What Abraham was prepared to do prefigured what God eventually did do.

To all nations, to all who put their faith in him -- Jesus, our Savior and soon-coming King In what way does Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac prefigure the Father's sacrifice of Jesus? Isaac sacrifice was to be by shedding of his blood. It was Abraham's obedience and faith and trust in God that is important here...God rewarded him for this..this was a test of his faith!! He was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, to give back to God what was promised and given to him! There is no greater love!! And bless Isaac's heart! He asked a question of his father but he was obedient to him as well. He had faith in his father enough to trust him and believe in him that he obeyed and did not try to run! A willing sacrifice! hallelujah!

MountainTrek1
Q4. (Genesis 22:16-18; Galatians 3:16, 29) To whom are blessings promised through Abraham's descendant? Paul's response is that Jesus is the seed and Jesus will fulfill its promise. In what way does Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac prefigure the Father's sacrifice of Jesus? It is the same situation where the Father sacrifices the Son and God gives him back to his Father.

Eldress Rowe
The blessing through Abraham's descendant is promised to all nations. Abraham was ready to offer his only son as a sacrifice but at the last minute God provided himself a sacrifice, (a ram caught in the thicket) while God's only begotten Son, Jesus Christ was the sacrificial lamb offered for the sins of mankind. EMC
To whom are blessings promised through Abraham's descendant? God's blessings are promised to all who have accepted Christ who is Abraham's descendant. In accepting Jesus we are assured of acknowledgement as children of God John 1:12 it says those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. In what way does Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac prefigure the Father's sacrifice of Jesus? While there are some similarities in Isaac and Jesus's birth; for example both were only sons of their father whose births were miraculous and preannounced; Isaac did not die, he was saved by the ram provided by God By the way, I still marvel to this day how the very human Isaac, was quiet like a ram to the slaughter, on realising that his father was going to offer him as a sacrifice. He submitted to his sacrifice. I do wish to hear more about Isaac's personality and character. Sometimes I feel we dwell a lot on Abraham's faith and not enough about Isaac's nature. Please help!
