Q23. (1 Kings 22:10-28) What kinds of pressures is Micaiah experiencing as he prophesies before Kings Ahab and Jehoshaphat? What is his danger from men? What is his danger from Yahweh? Why are the true prophets of the Old Testament so honored by Jesus? (Matthew 5:12; 23:31-32, 37; Luke 11:50-51; 13:34).

Q23. Micaiah is under pressure because the prophecy he has had from God is not what Ahab wants to hear. All Ahab’s  prophets are false prophets and sycophants and tell Ahab what he wants to hear. For this prophecy they have all synchronised their stories so that they are all saying the same thing! Because Jehoshaphat is a devout man who love God he wants to hear what a ‘true’ prophet has to say about the planned battle. Ahab is not happy but calls for Micaiah in deference to Jehoshaphat.  Micaiah is aware of the situation he is going into and yet he knows he must honour God and deliver the message he has had from God even though it will be very different from what Ahab wants to hear and very different from the false prophecies of Ahab’s prophets. So he will be in danger from Ahab but also from the false prophets. Micaiah however fears God more that men. He knows that he loves God and will honour Him by delivering exactly what he saw in his dreams.

Micaiah the pressure that he experience is that said he hate him he wanted him to prophesy the lie but only stand in truth he prophesies what God has told him.

His men were prophesieng lies so by not doing they can kill him or hate him because of truth.

God likes the people who speak truth.

Jesus is the way and the truth so he likes the people who speak truth.

Q23. (1 Kings 22:10-28)
What kinds of pressures is Micaiah experiencing as he prophesies before Kings Ahab and Jehoshaphat? What is his danger from men? What is his danger from Yahweh? Why are the true prophets of the Old Testament so honoured by Jesus? (Matthew 5:12; 23:31-32, 37; Luke 11:50-51; 13:34).
Initially Micaiah sarcastically agreed with the 400 prophets, as he is aware of the life-threatening dangers of opposing the evil and wicked king Ahab. Ahab must have recognised what Micaiah was doing, so his own reply was just as sarcastic. Probably never before had he told Micaiah to tell nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord. Jehoshaphat was a godly king and would want to know the truth. So, Micaiah now proceeds to tell all what God had shown him. He spoke the truth about God having permitted the 400 prophets to speak with a lying spirit so as to deceive Ahab into going into battle that would result in his death. God is sovereign and what He wills will occur. False prophets often contradicted the true prophets in Old Testament, introducing destructive heresies and telling people only what they want to hear. Much like what is happening today. But that brought swift destruction upon themselves (2 Peter 2:1). The true prophets always spoke the truth and what would happen if people do not change their ways and return to the Lord. They always spoke the Word of God, and for this Jesus honoured them.

Micaiah knew his prophecy would not be well received by the two kings. However, he was not afraid to tell them the truth of what the Lord had said. Knowing that his life could be in danger, it appears Micaiah was bold enough to stand before the kings and Ahab's false prophets.

Micaiah knew that he had to deliver the message the Lord had given him to the kings, if not, the Lord may have removed his spirit from Micaiah and he would no longer be his servant.

Jesus speaks of the courage and faith of the old testament prophets because they knew they would be persecuted and put to death for their messages delivered to the people. Jesus is telling his disciples they also will be persecuted and put to death for his name sake, and so this persecution still exist today for the name of Jesús.

23. (1 Kings 22:10-28)

What kinds of pressures is Micaiah experiencing as he prophesies before Kings Ahab and Jehoshaphat?

What is his danger from men?

What is his danger from Yahweh?

Why are the true prophets of the Old Testament so honored by Jesus? (Matthew 5:12; 23:31-32, 37; Luke 11:50-51; 13:34).

Micaiah has been told what the other prophets had prophesied, so he knew that the word he had gotten from the Lord was contradictory to theirs.  Micaiah was also well aware of the fact that if he told the truth and this was not what the king wanted to hear, his life was in danger.  Either he would be imprisoned or put to death.  If he did not prophecy what Yahweh had revealed to him, then he stood the chance of Yahweh removing His presence from him.

Prophets were often persecuted and murdered (stoned to death).  Jesus honored them because they prophesied what God had revealed to them, in spite of knowing full well what their fate could be.

The pressure Micaiah is under is the decision whether to prophesy the truth and face the consequence from King Ahab or not. His danger from men is the physical assault or denial of comfort and food or even death.

Jesus honored the true prophets of the old testament because they usually declared the truth even if that would cost their lives.

A1King Ahab was self deceived; he put his trust in 400 liars.   He could not get the flattery of the Prophet Micaiah.  Micaiah knew that if he stated the truth he would go back to prison.  So bizarre that King Ahab still had such a dislike for this righteous prophet after all that had happened to him and his countrymen!

Micaiah had firm faith in Yahweh.  Disobedience was no option. To curry favor from men wasn't an option.  Like the Prophets Abraham, Isaiah, Ezekiel and many others, he heard the still small voice to preach and preserver in his calling. To not be faithfull in one's calling was anathema.   So we are to give testimony to Jesus Christ, this is the spirit of prophecy.  We cannot afford to be like other church denominations that have renamed on matters of faith and morals; we cannot fall into a state of timid inertia and doctrinal compromise.

What kinds of pressures is Micaiah experiencing as he prophesies before Kings Ahab and Jehoshaphat?

Micaiah is under a lot of pressure.  He will have to decide whether he will give the king what he wanted to hear or give the message that the Lord has given him.

What is his danger from men? What is his danger from Yahweh?

The danger from men is that they might kill him.  Danger from Yahweh is not to fall under pressure.  Continue to trust God.

Why are the true prophets of the Old Testament so honored by Jesus? (Matthew 5:12; 23:31-32, 37; Luke 11:50-51; 13:34).

True prophets are honored by Jesus because they told the truth even if it meant death.

Micaiah experienced pressures of humiliation from both prophet Zedekiah and King Ahab as he prophesies before kings Ahab and Jehoshaphat.

He danger from men death and danger from is to be removed from as true prophet of God if he fails to speak the truth.

The true prophets of old testament are honored by Jesus Christ because they representatives and mouth of God.

There are different kinds of pressure that Micaiah is experiencing as he prophesies before Kings Ahab and Jehoshaphat. Firstly Ahab has suspicious and negative view of Micaiah prophecy. To make matters worse all prophets except Micaiah were prophesying that Israel will succeeded and Syria will be defeated. People surrounding Ahab including Zedekiah and the messenger who went to summon Micaiah were pressuring Micaiah to prophesy in tandem with other prophets in predicting success. However, Micaiah fears the Lord and tells them that he will say what the LORD tells him to say. The true prophets of the Old Testament were so honoured by Jesus Christ because they obeyed God Yahweh and not man.

Micaiah ie pressured to agree with the false prophets because Ahab wants Jehoshaphat to join him in a war against Syria. He's looking only for a favorable report. His danger from men is imprisonment. His danger from God is judgment. Jesus revered OT prophets because they testified about Him.

Micaiah is pushing back against 40 prophets. He is going against everything that was said would happen and Ahab is believing those prophets. The danger from men is that they might attack him and the danger from God is if he doesn’t tell them the truth then he just might be taken out by God. The true prophets of the Old Testament is so honored by Jesus because they always told the truth.
