Q19. (Luke 11:31; 1 Corinthians 1:30; Colossians 2:2) How does Jesus’ wisdom contrast with worldly wisdom? In what sense are “all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” hidden in Him? Just how do you go about becoming “wise” in Jesus?

This question makes me wonder about the difference in the wisdom found in the Old Testament book of Proverbs and that of Jesus in His New Testament's parables. Jesus' parables seem to upend some of the proverbs or at least draw startling conclusions from them that contradict their flat or most obvious meaning. Thus, Jesus' parables or wise teachings bring to the proverbs a deeper, often inexplicable meaning.

I don't think a Christian "goes about becoming wise"  but rather a Christian lives out each minute of her/his day being aware of Christ to the greatest extent possible. Slowly, as this Christian thinks through scripture stories rahter than thinking about scripture, wisdom begins to grow. A person doesn't decide to be wise, then, but becomes wise as his or her patterns of thought change through increased "soaking" in Him and His words.

I can't describe this any better. Sorry.

Q19. Wisdom that comes from Heaven is first of all pure; then peace loving, considerate, submissive , full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
If we harbor bitter envy and selfish ambitions in our hearts these do not come from heaven but are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. These are the differences between Godly wisdom and earthly wisdom.

Jesus is the fount of all wisdom and knowledge, that is Godly wisdom and knowledge. This is the wisdom and knowledge that we need to be striving to learn and use in our lives. Jesus has it all , is the fount of all , so to gain this wisdom and knowledge we must go to Him and ask for wisdom as James tells us to do. We need to pray, study the word and pay attention to other maybe older Godly men and women who can teach us a lot by us listening and observing how they live their lives.

The wisdom in the world is earthly no value in heaven. Wisdom of Jesus is holy and pure that points to victory over the false knowledge or science that the devil has brought to this fallen world.

Jesus is the omniscient God .In wisdom and knowledge He created all things in heaven and on earth. He is the source of all wisdom and knowledge.
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. To obey God is to walk in His wisdom.

Q19. (Luke 11:31; 1 Corinthians 1:30; Colossians 2:2)

How does Jesus' wisdom contrast with worldly wisdom?

JESUS' wisdom is only for HIS followers while worldly wisdom for anyone.

In what sense are "all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" hidden in Him?

HE is the begin of it.

Just how do you go about becoming "wise" in Jesus

When you received JESUS as your LORD and SAVIOR.

Q19. (LUKE 11:31; 1 CORINTHIANS 1:30; COLOSSIANS 2:2)
How does Jesus' wisdom contrast with worldly wisdom? In what sense are "all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" hidden in Him? Just how do you go about becoming "wise" in Jesus?
Jesus’ wisdom is the absolute truth and is only spiritually discerned. It is foolishness to the world (1 Cor 1:21-25), but to us, it is the power of God by which we receive righteousness, holiness, and redemption (1 Cor 1:30). Worldly wisdom is full of lies, hypocrisy and evil. All treasures of wisdom and knowledge were hidden until Christ came. It is through Jesus that it was revealed; this was God’s plan to have His Son, Jesus Christ, live in the hearts of all who believe in Him. Once we put our trust in Him it is not hidden anymore. We start reading His Word and spending time with Him, having fellowship with our Lord. We are guided by the Holy Spirit and combined with the wisdom and knowledge now available, we become wise in Jesus. This wisdom also helps us apply the knowledge to a successful life.

Jesus' wisdom is just the opposite of worldly wisdom.  Jesus says love your enemies, bless those that curse you and despitefully use you and pray for them, the world says to get even. The first shall be last and the last first.  Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth, not the prideful. Whoever want to be great among you must be your servant, the world - wait on me, give me your attention.

All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him, as He is God, Creator of all things, you and everything in the whole earth, He  loves us, provides for us and has given unto us His Spirit, so that we can commune with Him, and learn of Him.

You go about becoming wise in Jesus by spending time in His Word, learning from Him and spending time in fellowship with Him and through His Spirit gives you His wisdom and even giving you ideas that you would never realize on your own but by His Spirit you can have them.

Jesus is everything that we need.  Our righteousness, sanctification and redemption.  Whatever we need we find in Him.  It is only in Him we find real unity.

The heart is the inner man, the nature, the humanity, the whole person.  Jesus changes all that if we allow Him.

Worldly wisdom is selfish and makes one look to one's own or man's own achievements and workings.  It's egotistical.  It concentrates on what is important at that particular time and not for the just now, the result of the circumstance or happening.  (An example worldly "wisdom" will be to hate your enemy, to strike him;  Jesus's wisdom says, " Love your enemy, do good to them that hate you".  It is a total contrast and the result or outcome of the action sooner promotes peace and unity than what worldly wisdom promotes.)

If we give ourselves over to Jesus and allow Him full control,  then that wisdom which is hidden in Him flows also through our actions and thought patterns and we act as He would act and talk as He would talk.

To become 'wise' in Jesus we need to give Him full control of our lives.  Pattern our lives according to His, by spending time in prayer, in studying the Scripture and being with like-minded brethren.

The wisdom of God TO US..(1 COR 1:24,30).  Christ is Wisdom sent from heaven.  Christ is not just a holy prophet, religious teacher, or ascetic; He is the Son of Man sent from on High.  Careful study of ROMANS 10:19; DEUTERONOMY 32:21 underscores this truth: God is the prime mover.

Apostle Paul wrote eloquently about the eternal Christ.  There was no doubt in his mind that Christ is the Logos.  The plan of salvation was ordained by God.  Not the workings of mere man: God alone truly is magnified.   There are five things that God has chosen contained in 1 Corinthians 1:27-29.

Diligent Bible study is essential.  Daily personal prayer time also is a must to have the Mind of Christ.  No short cuts.  Studying the Book of Proverbs has also been a great help to me.
