Brother Clifford wilson
Humility is obviously in the eye of the beholder. God beheld Moses as a humble man. How is that? Because the Lord said so. Only a humble man receives the word of the Lord, hears and obeys his word. This humility of Moses cannot be taughtor duplicated by man. I think that humility comes via the Holy Spirit. Jesus stated that only God is good. Moses was very meek above all men on the earth. God chose Moses because a meek person spirit is open to the voice of God. The essence of Jesus humility is God. Matt 11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls. In the yoke of Jesus we find true lowlyness true meekness. Is humility in our souls and Jesus only can feed and teach us? The lesson is obvious find God, follow Christ and take on his yoke of peace, love and humility. God prepared Moses and Moses pre life before the burning bush prepared him by Gods hand. We can not decipher the human growth that leads to humble maturity in a person. Moses as a baby, raised in pharohs house. All the things leading to God in the burning bush. Dr. Gracie L. Adderly
Q23. (Numbers 12:3) Why is Moses called the most humble man in the world? What is the essence of his humility? What is the essence of Jesus’ humility? What is the lesson for leaders today? Moses was referred to as the most humble man in the world because of his consistent selflessness and willingness to put God and the needs of others before his own, even when faced with criticism or challenges from the Israelites he led out of bondage. Moses' humility was characterized by his care for others, selflessness, his lack of self-concern, and his devotion to God. Thereto, Jesus, The Christ demonstrated His selfless service to others by first emptying Himself, left His heavenly kingdom to be born in a manger, among the poor and sinners. He demonstrated selflessness by washing His disciples' feet. Washing someone's feet was generally considered a very humble and even "despicable" task, as it was typically done by the lowest-ranking servants due to the dirty conditions of the time and the practice of wearing sandals; therefore, for someone of higher status to wash another person's feet was seen as a significant act of humility and service. Finally, the ultimate show of humility, was Jesus' obedience to the Father, i.e., by dying on a cross so that by His sacrifice we could all be saved. Through Moses' leadership one might see his compassion and empathy for others as he defended the weak from the powerful. Moses trusted in God's guidance and did as he was instructed. Moses was a strategic leader, able to delegate authority - Moses set up an administrative hierarchy and appointed leaders to assist him. Moses shared in his responsibilities with others, such as when he appointed seventy elders to help him lead the Israelites. Moses mentored the next leader of Israel, Joshua. Moses was sensitive to the needs of others. Moses persevered in his vision, even when he knew he wouldn't complete it. Finally, and most importantly, Moses made time for prayer with God. Jewells
Q23. (Numbers 12:3) Why is Moses called the most humble man in the world? What is the essence of his humility? What is the essence of Jesus' humility? What is the lesson for leaders today? Moses was called the most humble man in the world by God. We see how God chose him to lead his people and positioned him in Pharaoh's house as a baby. He had all the instruction of the world and was treated as royalty and yet the Lord knew he would lead his people. When the time came he took him to the desert to teach him about himself and his ways. Moses learned to hear the voice of God and obey. He was submitted completely under the hand of God and then God sent him back to lead the people. The total dependence of Moses on God is the essence of Jesus' humility. And it is the lesson for the leader's of today. Moses had a heart for the people and the mission but he knew only the Lord could accomplish the mission and God had the plan and the strength and so he just listened, obeyed, and followed the Lord. hanks
Q23. (NUMBERS 12:3) Why is Moses called the most humble man in the world? What is the essence of his humility? What is the essence of Jesus' humility? What is the lesson for leaders today? It is the testimony given by the Spirit of God about the character of Moses. Him being meek and mild as the reason, why he did not take any action to defend himself against Miriam and Aaron. He did not take the law into his own hands, did not stand up for himself, instead he allowed God to intervene on his behalf. Moses was God’s chosen instrument for leading the Israelites out of Egypt, and during his 40 years in the wilderness God had prepared him for this task. He displays his humility by his faith and total obedience to God. It takes great humility to be in charge of as much as Moses was and still be willing to take advice from others. We see this humility in the way he treats his father-in-law Jethro with proper respect. Jesus, too, depends fully upon His Father (John 5:19). "He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth. When they hurled their insults at Him, He did not retaliate; when He suffered, He made no threats. Instead, He entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly” (1 Peter 2:21-23). The humble leader shows respect to others. Good leaders understand that though they may have power, prestige, and position in certain areas, this does not mean they should expect to be spoilt and praised wherever they go. True humility understands that no matter how important we may seem, we must still show proper respect to those whose age or position require it. The humble leader doesn’t try to do everything himself. We must realise that although we are made in the image of God, we are also sinners and wholly dependent upon our Heavenly Father. Clelie
Moses obeyed God in spite of knowing that he was not qualified to be the leader to set the people of Israel free from Egypt. The essence of his humility is his complete dependence on God. The essence of Jesus humility is his submissiveness to God. leaders should be humble and submissive to God in obedience to Him. . Rodrick Banda
In Numbers 12:3, Moses is described as "the most humble man on the face of the earth," a remarkable and somewhat paradoxical description, especially given his prominent role as a leader of the Israelites. To understand the essence of his humility, we need to consider the context of Moses' life and his relationship with God. Moses' Humility: Willingness to Serve: Moses' humility is not about thinking less of himself, but about thinking of himself less. In his interactions with God, Moses often steps aside from his own desires or aspirations in order to serve God's purposes. When God calls Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, Moses resists and makes excuses, feeling unworthy of the task. This isn’t false humility but genuine self-awareness. He recognizes his limitations and dependence on God’s power. Selflessness in Leadership: Moses led the Israelites not for personal gain or glory but out of obedience to God's call. His humility was reflected in his willingness to suffer for his people, intercede for them when they sinned, and endure hardships without seeking self-promotion or personal benefit. Despite being the leader of a nation, he did not elevate himself above others. He lived in constant reliance on God, which, in turn, shaped his leadership. Humility in Conflict: The incident in Numbers 12, when Miriam and Aaron question Moses’ leadership, is telling. Despite their criticism, Moses does not defend himself or retaliate. Instead, he allows God to vindicate him, demonstrating his trust in God’s justice and timing. His humble response, without personal defense or vindication, shows the depth of his character. Jesus' Humility: The humility of Jesus, as described in the Gospels, offers a deeper and more radical example of humility: Servanthood: Jesus, the Son of God, humbled himself by taking on human form. He didn’t come to be served but to serve (Mark 10:45). His ultimate act of humility was His willingness to die on the cross, an act of self-sacrifice for the salvation of humanity. In Philippians 2:5-8, Paul writes about Christ’s humility, emphasizing that though He was in the form of God, He emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant. Loving Sacrifice: Jesus’ humility was also seen in His willingness to engage with society’s outcasts—tax collectors, sinners, and the sick. He didn’t seek the honor of the religious elite but came to show love, mercy, and grace to those in need. His humility was expressed in His understanding that true greatness lies in serving others, even to the point of laying down one's life for them (John 15:13). Uncompromising Obedience to God: Jesus' humility is exemplified in His submission to God's will, even in the face of suffering. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He prayed, "Not my will, but Yours be done" (Luke 22:42). This submission was not just to avoid personal harm but was the act of fulfilling a divine mission for the redemption of humanity. The Essence of Humility for Both Moses and Jesus: At its core, humility is not about self-deprecation but about recognizing one's place in God's plan. Both Moses and Jesus displayed humility through: Self-awareness: Recognizing one's limitations and dependence on God. Service to others: Putting the needs of others above personal desires or gain. Submission to God’s will: Humility in accepting God's purpose and trusting His timing, even when it involves personal cost or sacrifice. Lesson for Leaders Today: Lead with Servant-Heartedness: Leaders today can learn from Moses and Jesus that true leadership is about service. A leader’s role is not to elevate themselves but to empower and serve others, prioritizing the needs of their team or community above personal ambition. Embrace Humility in Conflict: Like Moses, who did not seek personal vindication, modern leaders can learn to handle criticism and conflict with humility. Instead of defending themselves, leaders should seek to respond with grace and trust in God to work out justice. Trust in God’s Timing and Plan: Both Moses and Jesus trusted that God’s purposes would prevail. Leaders today must have the humility to surrender their personal agendas to God’s greater plan and trust His wisdom, even when the way forward seems difficult or unclear. Be Willing to Sacrifice: True humility involves being willing to make sacrifices for the greater good. Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice on the cross is the supreme example, but leaders are called to lay down their own comforts, desires, or even reputations for the benefit of others. In summary, humility in leadership is not about self-deprecation but about service, sacrifice, and submission to God's will. By looking to Moses and Jesus, leaders today can understand that the essence of humility is not a weakness but a strength that enables them to lead in a way that reflects God's kingdom values. Brenda Joy
Q23. (Numbers 12:3) Why is Moses called the most humble man in the world? What is the essence of his humility? What is the essence of Jesus' humility? What is the lesson for leaders today? Moses was dependent upon God and that was a pathway that gave him compassion for the people because Moses was a humble man that humility was what allowed God to use him... Moses was dependent on and cried out to God when there was a need. Moses was an obedient servant. Jesus was an obedient servant. He humbled himself before God. As leaders we are to seek to be like Moses and Jesus, and be fully dependent on God. If we are humble and trust God to lead us, we not only be in His will we will be joyful, content, at peace and satisfied.
Zanele Tlhakanelo
Moses is called the most humble man in the world because he trusted God and dependent on Him in everything that he did. Moses listened to God and carried out the instructions that God as put before him. His obedience indicated that he was indeed a person with humility who was not self-centered but followed every word that was given to Him by God. His essence of his humility was that he never defended himself from his critics but allowed God to fight his battles for him. He understood the Word of God in Romans 12:19 which says "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." When God called him, he told God about his inability to lead but God was not concerned about that as He knew that He would support him. He never promoted or exalted himself. Jesus' humility reflected a gentle and lowly spirit. He was compassionate and took care of the needs of all the people irrespective of their race and status in the community. Jesus came to save all humankind and as such sacrifice His Kingship for all to be saved. He was obedient to the call of God and had to serve people as a sign to His disciples that servanthood is key in the Kingdom of God. Leaders today must know that they are called to serve and not to be served. They need to know how to humble themselves and understand that humility is key in carrying out God's work. Trusting and depending on God are key points because you cannot lead people using your own strength but being obedient to God will always direct your path. epiphone8
Moses was completely dependent on God’s provision and strength from his first dealings with pharaoh all through his leading of the Hebrews through the wilderness. He and his entire people were dependent on him submitting to God. Likewise, Jesus said he was dependent on the Father to fulfill his mission. Both of them were focused not on exalting themselves but on serving others as called by God. I think we can mirror this humility in leadership by looking to God for guidance, wisdom and strength, not exalting our egos but serving the needs of those we lead. Nicolaas A.P. Mostert
23. (Numbers 12:3) Why is Moses called the most humble man in the world? Moses has no **** for power and he doesn't promote or exalt himself. What is the essence of his humility? Moses, more than anyone of his time, is totally dependent upon Yahweh. What is the essence of Jesus' humility? JESUS, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing. What is the lesson for leaders today? Don't depend on on strength and wisdom, depend totally on GOD for success.

What is the essence of his humility? What is the essence of Jesus’ humility? What is the lesson for leaders today? (Numbers 12:3) The essence of his humility was total dependence on God. The essence of Jesus humility was to do nothing on His own but only do what He saw the Father doing. Lesson for leaders today is Jesus calls us first to be meek towards God. To repent, to submit, to obey, to follow -- these are the firstfruits of our humility. Leadership and humility can coexist but we need to trust in and depend on God rather than self.
Mama Eve
Q.23 Numbers 12:3 Why is Moses called the most humble man in the world? Moses was very humble more than any other person on earth, because he demonstrated exceptional humility despite his powerful position as the leader of the Israelites. Moses was obedient to God and he prioritized God's will and the needs of the people. What is the essence of his humility? Moses totally depended on Yahweh. Moses was fully aware of his greatness but he never boast about it. Moses cared more about the cause than himself. What is the essence of Jesus humility? Jesus was also depended on His Father. He was so gentle and lowly. Jesus gave up his divine privileges and took on the role of s Servant in order to do the will of God. Assertive-Having or showing confidence and a forceful personality. What is the lesson for leaders today? Leadership and humility can co-exist. Biblical humility is trusting and a dependence upon God rather than self. George L
Why is Moses called the most humble man in the world? He understood he had the greatest need for God to accomplish anything. What is the essence of his humility? Not placing selfish desires above others needs and God’s desires. What is the essence of Jesus' humility? He too depended upon God for his way and the power to take each step in his ministry. What is the lesson for leaders today? There is no other way than God’s way to succeed. The more you give up your own way the more of God he will share with you. To have more of God grade success you must desire more of God’s person and not just His abilities. Lisa Wolf
Q23. (Numbers 12:3) Why is Moses called the most humble man in the world? What is the essence of his humility? What is the essence of Jesus’ humility? What is the lesson for leaders today? Moses' reluctance to lead yet his obedience to God, shows us his utter dependence on God, hence Moses' humility. The essence of humility is total trust and faith in God for EVERYTHING. In John 5:19, Jesus told us, “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does." We follow Jesus' example when we pursue that strong relationship with the Father and do nothing on our own. The lesson for leaders today is PRAY. KNOW GOD. PRAY MORE. Act in obedience to Him. He is in charge.
Krissi
The verb origin of the Hebrew word for humble/meek Pastor Ralph wrote -- “to afflict, oppress and humble” -- puts a cast on the meaning of humble that makes sense to me. Perhaps, humility, or being humbled, is not just an attitude of mind, but a consequence of how other people view us (as a failure, power/status-less, weak or abused, “boundary-less,” functioning socially as a doormat, living without goals or aspirations, etc.) The worldly view of humility is decidedly negative, then, a characteristic secular people don’t value. So, recognizing the disdain with which seculars regard the value of humility, Christians are commanded to be humble anyway, to depend on God and not care what other’s think. I don't see Moses as innately humble -- Moses, when young when his character was fully revealed, has a huge **** for power and prestige. This can be seen in his early life when his schooling in power at the house of the Pharaoh came to fruition when he murdered a civilian. Forty subsequent years in the desert destroyed his hope, future, goals and aspirations and sense of self. He had been crushed in the desert, not only humbled – though prepared for his future calling. He had been afflicted and oppressed, as the word origin of humble connotes. Also, note that God, in His conversation with Moses, never praised him for his humility, but chastised him for whining and complaining. So, the essence of humility in Moses was a consequence of being destroyed and devastated in midlife. It’s the beaten-downness of Moses that we see, his giving up of dreams, the devastation of the promise he thought had been given to him. etc. Sometimes submission is coerced by God, and in the case of Moses, 40 years of isolation in a hot desert surrounded by dumb sheep … made him dependent on God, that is, humble.
