Brother Clifford wilson Posted November 5, 2024 Report Posted November 5, 2024 Q42. (John 3:30) 1. In what ways are you observing Christ’s influence increasing in you? Jesu must be the center of my being, my mindset is this I am nothing without Jesus directing my steps. I can see the change in my core, The more I align myself with scripture my way is decreasing and his way is increasing. 2. How is your seeking of your own way decreasing? By receiving the written word of God and delighting in that written word. The more centered that I am in seeking Christ. The more He is there guiding me. 3. What are the biggest obstacles to humility currently before you? I am the biggest obtacle to humility, as I navigate my day I must be mindful that He, not me in my guide. As I walk this walk, I remind myself of who I am in Christ, and repent immediately if my earthly walk is not in agreement with my spiritual walk. 4. What are you doing to humble yourself in these circumstances that challenge you? I move forward in Christ knowing this, that he is with me speaking truth to my spirit man. I keep my lines of communication open even if I stumble. I try to place myself in the proper situations in life to allow Christ to grow in me. I seek places and people where I know that I can use my gifts to be a light to others less fortunate. I am looking for the harvest in his name, in my neighborhood.. Quote
Clelie Posted November 8, 2024 Report Posted November 8, 2024 I became more tolerant to those who do not hold to my faith in Jesus Christ but I pray for them. Dying to self in the power of the Holy Spirit helps me to put Christ first . To live among non believers. Be Christ like and show love when critised or judged. Keep quiet and avoid unfruitful arguments which will only make situation worse. Pray unceasingly for God to work out His plan for them and and for me. Quote

Lisa Wolf Posted November 14, 2024 Report Posted November 14, 2024 Q42. (John 3:30) In what ways are you observing Christ’s influence increasing in you? How is your seeking of your own way decreasing? What are the biggest obstacles to humility currently before you? What are you doing to humble yourself in these circumstances that challenge you? Terrific self-reflective questions! John 3:30 is the perfect verse, "He must become greater; I must become less.” As I focus more on the character quality of humility, I find myself more focused on patience, forbearance, and rejoicing in others. This study has opened my eyes to just HOW humble our Savior was as He walked on the earth. I'm doing my best to live as Jesus, "But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (1John 2:5-6) Quote
epiphone8 Posted November 26, 2024 Report Posted November 26, 2024 I desire to live according to the way Christ calls me to. Whereas in my old life it was never a desire. My thoughts, passions, and motivations are less and less focused on the flesh and worldly pursuits and more on submission to God. I find myself becoming less judgmental but I know that I still have much growing ahead of me. One of my biggest obstacles is patience, forbearance, and gentleness when presented with difficult people or life’s annoyances. In those times I confess my sins to God in prayer and ask for him to help me live in a way that glorifies him. Quote
Krissi Posted December 3, 2024 Report Posted December 3, 2024 Christ’s presence grows subtly but consistently in me. It changes my thought patterns and widens the range of "checks" in my spirit. When I was a younger Christian, my growth occurred in spurts – I’d be shown something by the Lord which would result in a cascade of changes, mostly superficial. Now, the changes are deeper and less apparent to those who didn’t know who I used to be. This is how I “observe” His changes in my heart. I feel them more than understand them, and in retrospect I can see how the rough edges are being rubbed off. Circumstances have coerced me into putting others’ needs ahead of my own to such an extent that I have very little opportunity to seek my own. I see God’s hand in these unfolding events. Just trying to pick up near to where I left off is, in itself, humbling. I can't do it. My confidence is broken. LIfe seems bleak and dull. Yet, I pray for restoration and a revival in my heart. My biggest obstacle to humility is my tendency to question God as to why my circumstances are so horrible, occasionally with great passion and anger. Such an approach to God isn’t humble, to say the least. Thank you for another fantastic lesson series, Pastor Ralph. Quote
