Perry Ford
Q25. (James 4:13-16) What danger is James warning us about in verses 13-16? How can we be humble in our planning without being indecisive and wishy-washy? James 4:13-5reproves them for their boastings and joy in them, as evil, James 4:16, observes, that it is not enough to know what is right and good, unless it is done; and that such knowledge is but an aggravation of the evil of sin committed. Lisema Ralitsoele
Q25. (James 4:13-16) What danger is James warning us about in verses 13-16? In verses 13-16 James is warning us about the danger we face when we ascertain that we shall do such and such in days to come because the future we are presumptuous about may, unbeknown to us, be our death knell. How can we be humble in our planning without being indecisive and wishy-washy? We are humble in our planning when we submit ourselves and our plans to God for His blessing, modification or even rejection at His own time, which we are prepared to accept and live by. haar
Q25. (James 4:13-16) What danger is James warning us about in verses 13-16? How can we be humble in our planning without being indecisive and wishy-washy? James wars us not to plan for tomorrow with arrogance because we may not live to execute the plans. We need to humbly seek the will of God and then plan. Â
Irmela
Q25. (James 4:13-16) What danger is James warning us about in verses 13-16? How can we be humble in our planning without being indecisive and wishy-washy? James is reminding us that our lives are short and uncertain. He warns us not to make plans on our own but to make sure that what we plan to do is indeed what God would have us do. We can submit to God and ask Him before making any plans. Make them known when you are certain that indeed they are God's plans. If you do have a prayer-partner, pray together about what needs to be done and then allow God to move in your mind and to direct your plans, each step of the way. Even then still be sure in your speech and action "If the LORD will's then so and so or such and such." Never leave Him out of the planning and the action. Old Jerry
James is warning us about not including God in our plans. He is telling us that we may not have full control over our lives. We are to give our lives over to God and get guidance from Him.
