Q3. Bring to Completion

Recommended Posts

Plans that are brought to completion has a partner. The analogy is about the church which is the body of Christ and about the individual itself. The religious effort is not just only for the development of our individual spirituality, but the whole church also.

The ministry is like a mirror we can look upon. If we are trying to improveourselve, then wemustalso have a great concern for the body of Christ also.

·        To complete what he has begun in their lives.

·        He is fully confident that God will finish, and bring to an end, everything He started until the day Jesus comes.

·        Paul is talking to the whole Church of which we, too, are a part.

(1:6) What does Paul expect God to do for the Philippian believers? Why does he expect God to do this? What is the basis of Paul's confidence? On what basis can we expect God to do this for us?

Paul expects God to continue the good works that he had began thru completion until Jesus Christ comes again.  Paul expects God to do this because we are his children.  Paul's confidence is based on God's faithfulness.  God is true to his word.

a) Paul expects God to comlete the good work He has started in them

B) -Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith

- God says He will never leave nor forsake us

c &d) God is not a man that He should lie nor the son of man that He should repent, as He said it? will He not bring it to pass? God is faithful to complete the good works in us

This verse is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. In it, Paul asserts what he knows about the God he serves--that He is faithful to complete the work that He begins. Paul's confidence must be based on the life of Jesus, because that is the ultimate evidence that God gives us for his intention to bring all creation under his power and glory. The resurrection is the victory over death--the curse that Adam and Eve brought upon mankind with their violation of God's instruction about what they were to eat.

I struggle, and have all my life, with eating issues, and I find it quite interesting to think that eating was the source of sin and death entering the experience of humans. But this verse encourages me to know that as I rely on God, not food, to fill the voids in my life, He will bring the perfect life He has in mind for me into existence. I love Steve Green's song--"He who began a good work in you--will be faithful to complete it."

God declares us "saints" and He will complete what He has started in our lives when Christ comes.God is involved in our salvation.

Paul is confident that God's help is at hand because he knows the Philippians "heart", the desire to be ambassadors for Christ and God stands by us.

God does the same for anyone who sincerely seek to follow Christ.

Paul is earnest in His expectation here...Truly focused on Christ, He expects God to fulfill His promises....To His followers. Because He is a "just God" and when He commands us to do something...He also gives us the grace by which to do it..Therefore completing the good work He started In His believers....which leads to His Glory.

The basis of Pauls confidence is endurance through faithfulness...the unified sharing of Gods grace.

It is on this basis also...that We too can expect God to do this for us also...knowing beyond doubt that He is a "just and faithfull God"

What does Paul expect God to do for the Philippian Church?

Paul knew of the sufferings for the name of Christ, he knew of the Grace of God, and he also knew that this new church, filled with abounding love, would need faith, to endure and  the Word of God says that Faith . . . cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God .   Paul planted a seed, the letters Paul wrote would  water that seed, BUT it would be God that gave the increase.

Why does he expect God to do this?

Paul knew that God had already begun the good work when Jesus came and  paid the penalty for Sin, and also that Jesus had sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us to also complete  the good work God had begun.  Because of Paul's miraculous conversion, the experiencing of God's Love, Grace, Mercy, and Deliverance, he knew that there was nothing too hard for God.

What is the basis for Paul's confidence?

God's love, grace, mercy, deliverance, and faithfulness

On what basis can we expect God to do this for us?

We, just like  the Philippian church, will also have to go through the process of Christian growth until  we behold Jesus face to face.  God will help us grow in Grace until He has completed His work.  There will be times when we feel unfinished, incomplete, or distressed by our shortcomings, we have to remember God's promises and provisions, and also show much love to one another and encourage one another.

What does Paul expect God to do for the Philippian believers? Why does he expect God to do this? What is the basis of Paul's confidence? On what basis can we expect God to do this for us?

What does Paul expect God to do for the Philippian believers?

While being in prison Paul prays that God who started good works that the Philippians  will continue to  share the manifestation of the Gospel, carry on to completion until the Day of Christ Jesus , and that their love may be abound more and more in the knowledge and depth of insight so that they may discern what is best and remain pure and blameless when the DAY comes.

Why does he expect God to do this? What is the basis of Paul's confidence?

Not forgetting their generosity Paul expects the Philippians continue the wonderful job in living Christ centered lives,.

On what basis can we expect God to do this for us?

We need to be committed to doing little things for the glory of God as mentioned earlier in question #2.

Shalom to the Saints by Faith of Messiah;

1. Paul's love for the Philippines is in their continuous

support toward him. He prays with joy to Yah (God) in that what Yah has for the believers since the start of their conversion that be will continue to work in their lives until the coming of Messiah. WHAT A PROMISE!

2. Paul expects Yah to do it because of their faithfulness in the Evangel in believing and supporting Paul's work as he travels to share the evangel.

3. The basis of his confidence is because they have shared in the support they also share in the reward.

4. We can expect Yah To do this for us because He has told us to go forth to the nation's and preach the evangel. Is. 52:7 "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings th good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, thy Elohyim reigneth."

Halleluyah

Q3. (1:6) What does Paul expect God to do for the Philippian

believers? Why does he expect God to do this? What is the

basis of Paul's confidence? On what basis can we expect God

to do this for us?

  1. "To began a good work in the Philippians and carry it on

to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

  1. Because our salvation and eternal destiny do not rely upon

Our feeble efforts to be righteous. They depend upon God himself

who has declared us to be his ("saints," verse 2) and will

complete what he has begun in our lives when Christ comes

("the Day of Christ," verse 6).

  1. We need to be so convinced that we put our confidence in

God all the way. We can carry it on to completion" or "perform it"

and let him finish something begun, end, bring to an end."

  1. With assurance that is intended for believers who are

sincerely seeking to follow Christ, in spite of their imperfections.

He who began a good work in you will carry it out to completion. Paul have a assurance that it is intended for who are seriously seeking to follow Christ even though they are not perfect. Because God's assurance is for us today also.

Paul expects that as the Phillippians come to know Jesus they will grow in the fruits of the Holy Spirit as he did. He experienced this himself and knows it to be real. Since the word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12) as we study His word we can expect to grow in Christ also. But it is definitely done by His grace and not our work.

I enjoyed the analogy from Daebee about "tough love." I agree that the Lord uses the pain in our lives to get us to focus back on Him. One more sign that He is faithful to complete His work, even if sometimes we are not.

Q3. (1:6) What does Paul expect God to do for the Philippian believers? Why does he expect God to do this? What is the basis of Paul's confidence? On what basis can we expect God to do this for us?

In the Philippine Christian lives God is expected to complete in their live's a change of heart that results in a Christ like life. As the Holy Spirit dwells within them their life will reflect their faith and hope in Christ.

Paul expects God to carry out our completion in Christian life as soon as we become a believer in Christ.

The bases of Paul's confidence in God doing this completion in the Philippine's Christians lives is that God is faithful to his word.

We can expect God in his faithfulness to complete his work in us as soon as we become believers in Christ.

A. To finish or complete the good work he has started in them / for them.

Paul confidence in God is bases of his experience over the years and learning and knowing that Hod is faithful. Our confidence in God too should be based on the fact that God is faithful to perfect in us wherever He has started.

Q3. (1:6) What does Paul expect God to do for the Philippian believers? Why does he expect God to do this? What is the basis of Paul's confidence? On what basis can we expect God to do this for us?

Paul expects God to complete the good work  he has begun in the lives of the Philippian believers when Christ comes.

He expects God to do this because he has chosen us and declared us to be his saints.

Paul's confidence is based on his faith about Philippian  believers who are sincerely seeking to follow Christ, in spite of their imperfections.

On the basis of what Jesus Christ has done for us on the cross and When we sincerely seek after God, repenting of all our sins and turning away from them, then we can expect god to complete the good work he has begun in our lives too.

Q3. (1:6)

What does Paul expect God to do for the Philippian believers?

Why does he expect God to do this?

What is the basis of Paul's confidence?

On what basis can we expect God to do this for us?

Paul expects God to complete what He has begun in the lives of the Philippian believers, for he knows that God will always finish what He has begun.

It is because of God’s work in them that the Philippian’s persevere in the faith and the gospel.

In the same way, God’s faithful work in us will carry on until the day our Lord Jesus returns. Praise the Lord!

The basis of Paul’s confidence is in God’s sovereignty, and it is grounded in Christ (Rom 8:38-39).

We know that nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

He will never let us go, but will continue the good work in us.

We know this confidence is based on His love for us, but also on the work of God before the foundation of the world when He chose us in Christ (Eph 1:4).

Paul expects that God will continue to help the faithful Philippians to thrive in faith and maintain their spirit to last until the day of the return of Christ Jesus.  It is their sincere and genuine fellowship that allow him to be confident and to expect that God would keep them strong and long-lasting.

We can also expect God to help us to grow strong in faith and be able to endure for life, if we also have sincere hearts to live for the Gospel in obedience to God’s commandment.

Our expectation is that God will finish what He has started in us.  God is committed to do what he says and after we repent and do what we need to do to be best of our abilities, the finished work will be approved.  "He who began a good work in you Philippians will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." As we see later in the letter, he is encouraging them to mature as a group."  Maturity in and of itself means responsibility, accountability, and ultimately performing the ultimate task of salvation in our hearts.  It is not a check list; it is a Christ list.  A willing servant.

Q3. (1:6) What does Paul expect God to do for the Philippian believers? Why does he expect God to do this? What is the basis of Paul's confidence? On what basis can we expect God to do this for us?

The God who began a good work within Philipians, continues it throughout our lifetime and will finish it when we meet him face to face. God’s work for us began when Christ died on the cross in our place. His work within us began when we first believed. Now the Holy Spirit lives in us, enabling us to be more like Christ every day. Paul is describing the process of Christian growth and maturity that began when we accepted Jesus and continues until Christ returns.

When God starts a project, he completes it! God will help us grow in grace until he has completed his work in your life. When  discouraged, God won’t give up on us. He promises to finish the work he has begun. When you feel incomplete, unfinished, or distressed by your shortcomings, remember God’s promise and provision. Don’t let your present condition rob you of the joy of knowing Christ or keep you from growing closer to him.

Q3. (1:6) What does Paul expect God to do for the Philippian believers? God expects us to do the work that Paul has started and carry it on till our last breath.  In sickness, in health, we must do the work of our Lord Jesus Christ till He returns or we passed to the other side.

Why does he expect God to do this?

By becoming His children, we are to do this faithfully.

What is the basis of Paul's confidence?

His complete TRUST and FAITH in our Lord Jesus Christ

On what basis can we expect God to do this for us?   By having the same confidence that Paul has during his lifetime and so we must have this confidence and assurance in God.

Continuing the line of a slave's work is never done Paul may have been looking at each member of the Church and seeing much "unfinished" business.  A slave to the church knows what is expected and strives to achieve that.  And it is not accomplished in one day and we are not perfect and not near where we are supposed to be.  But, God is not finished yet either.
