MAMA
Q1. In what way do our prayers of praise "bless" God? What do we mere humans have that God desires in a blessing? What are prayers like, that don't include blessing God? God is the fullness and source of all blessings. Our praises doesnt give Him strength but our praises let God know; that we love Him and we our blessed and thankful to be a child of God. What God desires from us in a blessing is to recognize his glory and strength and that all our help comes from Him. A prayer that dont bless God is a"I need prayer"I bought two lottery tickets and would appreciate winning any amount. No acknowledgement of our great His mercy is or nothing. Marloes
We start praying with praising God. He wants us to love Him and respect Him for who He is and not only for what He does for us personally. Without love, we can't have a personal relationship with Him full of trust. Besides this, we can't obey Him because without love, the slightest effort will be to much for us.
patience123
Our prayers of praise "bless" God with our love IF our love comes from the heart, we are giving HIM the GLORY. That is his plan for the whole of mankind, that we give him the glory first by loving him and then one another. So thats what we mere humans can give him in a blessing--- our love. Blessing, praise and thanks seem to be very closely linked. If we are truly thankful we naturally want to praise ( bless ) our Father for all his wondrous mercy and his abiding presence with us, so a prayer without blessing seems empty of feeling. PathFinder51
In what way do our prayers of praise "bless" God? A great part of Spirit-inspired prayer is praise. We are declaring the wonders of God and His deeds of power. We are extolling and worshipping God in his greatness, glory, and splendor. We are giving praise, rejoicing at the willingness and uncompelled free giving of ourselves. What do we mere humans have that God desires in a blessing? Giving that gets to the roots of our faith, our future, and our surrender to God. Giving out of love, "freely, willingly". What are prayers like, that don't include blessing God? " . . . . JoanG
We are reaffirming to God just how great he is in our lives. It is a way of thanking him for all the good things that he has given us. It is a way of showing our love to him. God desires to know that we love, honor and worship him. I feel that there are prayers where a person is begging for forgiveness or healing or something where he would forget to bless God. I have also seen (heard) prayers that were just empty words. There was no feeling or thought behind them. They seemed to be self-praising for the person saying them.
Old Jerry
God is always wanting to hear from us just like we like to hear from our kids. Stanley Tavaziva
To bless God means to recognize his great richness, strength, and gracious bounty and to express our gratitude and delight in seeing and experiencing it. God he is not helped or strengthened or made better off, man’s blessing God is an “expression of praising thankfulness” When the OT speaks of blessing God it does not “designate a process that aims at the increase of God’s strength”
Stanley Tavaziva
We Honor God for His goodness and power. Tell Him the specific things He's done for us and that we are thankful for it. We praise God even if are going through hard times and ask God to continue blessing our lives. To “bless” the Lord means to give Him praise, to actually “kneel before Him;” to recognize His goodness and Sovereignty over our lives, by giving Him respect and honor. God forgives our sin. There are times when we’ve missed the mark, turned our back on Him, or gone our own way, He forgives. He graciously extends mercy for every sin, when we simply come to Him and confess our need. Praying with a prayer of praise blesses God by offering up our heart and love to Him and Him alone. God desires our heart, our faith, and our belief and surrender to Him that is willingly given. Prayers that don't bless God is a prayer of petition, and just going to Him to just ask for something.
