June
They refer to God's character and who He really is. Hezekiah sees no limitation to God's power and that He can control anything within heaven and earth because He made them. If we never ask God for Great things our vision of God says we think Him to be small. Asking and believing you'll receive builds your faith. When you have the faith to believe for Greater things, God loves to answer in our favor to please us. He wants us to be happy.
Linda Stanley
THE FIRST TWO SENTENCES COMPARED TO THE FIRST SENTENCE OF THE LORDS PRAYER IS, HE APPROACHED GOD WITH SOVEREIGHTY AND RESPECT, FOR WHO GOD IS,HEZEKIAH HALLOWED GODS NAME.IT IS IMPORTANT TO FAITH BECAUSE WE NEED TO KNOW GOD AND WHO HE IS,KNOWING GOD CAN DO ALL AND ABOVE ALL,WORKING OUT ANY SITUATION WE ARE GOING THROUGH,OR EVEN ASKING FOR SOMEONE ELSE.I BELIEVE IT IS IMPORTANT TO GOD BECAUSE GOD WANTS US TO COME TO HIM.GOD LOVES US .ONLY GOD IS THE ONE WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR ACHIEVEMENTS,AND WE SHOULD GIVE GOD HONOR AND CREDIT,WHICH IS DUE TO ONLY HIM.THIS SHOULD PLEASE GOD KNOWING THAT WE COMPLETELY DEPEND ON HIM IN ANSWERING OUR PRAYERS. revking88
They both lift God up to the place of honor where He belongs. They both recognize that God is all powerful and the One True God. Praising God for who He is and what he can and what He has done for us. We need to know that God is all Powerful. Praises to God are important in our faith. We recognize Him as bigger than we are and both prayers remind us of this. I don't want to say that is is like we are praying, jumping up and down saying "Hey God, I'm down here and I'm giving you praise, listen to me. Now I have this little problem with the Assyrians and could use your help." Really though, we have to know way down, deep in our "knower" that God is devine, all powerful, maker of heaven and earth in order to have faith that He will deliver us in our time of need. He will answer the earnest, honest prayers. TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART!
Elder9
It recognizes and declares who is being addressed, not just anybody, but THE LIVING GOD. It honors and exalts the receipent of this prayer. Hezekiah acknowledges the position of GOD. Faith has to have an OBJECT, the object of our faith is GOD. So when we pray faith is important because there has to be a reason or purpose why we're calling on GOD. If I didn't believe (through faith) that GOD is real or wouldn't hear me why pray? It becomes vain words. My faith is increased and rewarded knowing that my GOD is alive. Knowing full well that an omnipetent GOD hears me, causes me to be at ease. GOD expects us to expect great things from HIM. The greater the obsticle, the bigger our GOD is. Psalm 25 says when my heart is overwhelmed lead me to that ROCK that is higher than I. DEIRDRE INAMDAR
Q2. (19:15) How do the first two sentences of Hezekiah's prayer (verse 15) correspond to the first sentence of the Lord's Prayer? How are they important to faith? How are they important to God answering the prayer? Both The Lords Prayer and Hezekiah's prayer begin with salutation to the Most High God.They acknowledge Him as Sovereign Almighty and Majestic, and so He is. It is important to acknowledge God for who He says He is and what He does.It is a faith booster when we know we are talking to the God of the Universe ,and when we know that He is in control of everything. When we seek God diligently, knowing He has the answer to all our problems He will reward us.
farmboy
1. A very powerfull recognition of who God is, His power and majesty, and there is one true God who created all. 2. Our Father - the God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim-who are in heaven, The one and only true God, who created all: without taking this corner stone into our heart there is no faith. Without this we are too close to having faith in gods mentioned in v18. 3. Without this faith in our heart we are praying to the wind. Of course God has the ability, but we must know that. God's power, honor, majesty, love, must be taken into our heart. We must also know that He alone is God.
grace
How do the first two sentences of Hezekiah's prayerCorrespond to the first sentence of the LOrd's prayer? How are they important to faith? How are they important to God in answering the prayer? 1. Both acknowledge that the kingdom belongs to God and that He is Maker of heaven and earth. Both give God HIS POSITION - between the Cherubims, and who art in heaven. 2.They are important to faith because our faith in placed in the Most High God who watches over every detail of our life. 3. They are important to God in answering prayer because He knows that we are the work of His hands and as such we are to exalt Yawheh with our whole lives. fran
Both prayers recognize who God is. They are words which give form to our faith, more importantly, to the object of our faith,. I suppose God "turns a deaf ear" to prayers which are not addressed to him.
linda bass
Both Hezekiah's prayer and The Lord's prayer begin with a vision of who God really is. "Oh LORD, God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God over all kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth." (2 Kings 19:15) " Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name." They are important to faith because this helps us to realize that all kingdoms and nations on earth are under God's control. They are important to God answering Hezekiah's prayer because the basis of the appeal is that God be seen by the nations as the only true God. The Real Truth
Q2. (19:15) How do the first two sentences of Hezekiah's prayer (verse 15) correspond to the first sentence of the Lord's Prayer? How are they important to faith? How are they important to God answering the prayer? By setting the stage God is to be put on. Higher than anything in Heaven or in Earth. They both give God all the glory, honor, and power. They are impotant to faith because is labels God as the creater of Heaven and Earth. Without faith one cannot believe that. They are important to God because it lets him know who he really is. And to see if you give enough respect and ackowledgement that his is Lord of all.
dantanc
Both these prayers start with the recognition and reiteration of the absolute sovernity of Lord God over everything in the universe and stating what He is to us, as well. These statements put us on a faith level at a platform able to approach Him with absolute confidence, at which our prayer operates and is acceptable to the Lord. Barbara1
Both prayers acknowledge God as the creator of heaven and earth, and honor Him as such. They are important to faith because if you don't beleive it you can't say it. LisaZ
Q2. (19:15) How do the first two sentences of Hezekiah's prayer (verse 15) correspond to the first sentence of the Lord's Prayer? How are they important to faith? How are they important to God answering the prayer? They acknowledge the greatness and majesty of God. They are important to faith because they reflect Hezekiah's view of God and if he didn't see God as powerful and great it would be difficult to have faith in God and in His ability to do amazing things. In the Bible it says that without faith it is impossible to please God. The Bible also says that if you pray believing that you receive, you will have what you ask for. Faith is a key to having prayers answered.
Dolly
The prayers both start by acknowledging who God is and giving God praises and thanksgivings. You have to realize and know who God truly is, how great he is and powerful in order to put your faith in him and trust him without a single doubt. You must put God first in everything you do, If you cannot humble yourself enough to come before God and reconize him for who he is, then God will be slow to reconize you, and your prayer will probably not get answered. masika
Here we see that , although Hezekiah came to God boldly , he did not take god for granted or approach Him flippantly.Instead , Hezekiah acknowdged God's sovereignty and Judah's total dependence on Him.Hezekiah's prayer provides a good model for us .We should not be afraid to approach God with our prayers , but we must come to Him with respect for who He is and what He can do . God is also our personl Father who can never reject our reguest if asked in good motive.
JustJeff
In both instances, Hezekiah's prayer and the Lord's prayer, we see an immediate acknowledgment and submission to God's position as the only true and living God, ruler and creator of everything. Our faith is only as great as to the degree that we are able to accept this position. A response by Adonai is as certain as our belief that our prayer is in His will and acceptable by Him. anthony s. rapaglia
Prayer is the never-failing resource of us,whether we struggle with difficulties or the center of something. At the mercy-seat of our "Almighty Lord",we open our hearts, spread our case, like Hezekiah ,an make our appeal. We have to understand that the glory of God is engaged on our side, faith gains the victory. The best pleas in prayer are taken from God's honour
oblay
Q2. (19:15) How do the first two sentences of Hezekiah's prayer (verse 15) correspond to the first sentence of the Lord's Prayer? How are they important to faith? How are they important to God answering the prayer? "Our Father in heaven, holy be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven.." Hezekiah's prayer acknowledged God as the God of heaven and earth. Being this therefore makes His will manifest not only in heaven but on earth as well. And so does our Lord's prayer say. This faith can make us communicate with God, looking at Him as the real true God. If we aknowledge God, He also acknowledges us. In many ways and occasions, he answers our prayers positively. In many ways and occasions too, He may also have answered it negatively. The point is that, real communication can only occur if we totally acknowledge the one communicating to and with us. This is very important for the faith. Without acknowledging God, we can never pray to Him.

Shelly1728
Hezekiah's prayer, like the Lord's prayer, began extolling God and His greatness. This is important to our prayers because it increases our faith, and faith is the most important ingredient in our prayers. Once we are done extolling God and praise Him for how great and righteous and powerful He is, we realize He can answer any prayer within His will. HE CAN! HE is ABLE! Our faith rises up in powerful prayer. The focus on Him also allow us time to get in tune with Him so that our will is more in tune with His, and we can pray accordingly. Commissioned
Q2. (19:15) How do the first two sentences of Hezekiah's prayer (verse 15) correspond to the first sentence of the Lord's Prayer? Hezekiah begins his prayer with an awesome vision of who God really is. In the Lord's prayer, God is envisioned also, as holy and in heaven. How are they important to faith? This vision of God drives our own faith in Yahweh's power even as it did Hezekiah. How are they important to God answering the prayer? We have placed Him above all and recognize His power and authority.
nancychua
Q2. (19:15) How do the first two sentences of Hezekiah's prayer (verse 15) correspond to the first sentence of the Lord's Prayer? How are they important to faith? How are they important to God answering the prayer? 1). Both prayer show the awesome majesty of God`s sovereignty above all things that need to bow down in humble submission to Him alone. Hezekiah magnify God making Him appear bigger than his problem and seek the Lord for help. He praise Him, adore Him and all honor and glory be to Him alone. 2). It`s a confession of faith that we declare to His Holiness above all, thanksgiving and the living God as a confirmation. God is enthroned above all the earth, the Creator and Lord of all. 3). Our prayer must be directed to the one True God who is able to answer our prayer. It acknowledges that we know who is in control and we are in total dependency on Him in our life. plethra
Q2. (19:15) How do the first two sentences of Hezekiah's prayer (verse 15) correspond to the first sentence of the Lord's Prayer? How are they important to faith? How are they important to God answering the prayer? Both show God as all powerful and awesome God. A brief realization of the fact that God is God - mighty, awesome, powerful, in control, and God of the universe! If you expect to receive any thing from God you must know who He is and what He can do. You must know His character and His abilities. Is any thing too hard for God. Of course not. But if you don't know HIM you don't know that fact. When you know who HE is then you have the faith to believe that HE loves you and can do all things. How are they important to faith? How are they important to God answering the prayer? The first two sentences of Hezekiah's prayer correspond to the first sentence of the Lord's Prayer: "Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallow be Your Name." These words are important to faith in that they are the very basis of faith - a belief that God is Our Father who art in Heaven and Hallowed is His Name.
