Craig
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? How did it relate to God's promises to David? Hezekiah's healing was important for his nation to provide continued leadership until a heir to the throne was prepared to assume the duties of head of state. Stan
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? How did it relate to God's promises to David? It is important in that it showed them that again God answers prayer of those who follow Him and do His will. It allowed for the time to bring up another king from the line of David as God had promised. It allow Hezekiah time to get his family ready for his death and it allow him time to consider that God is merciful and just and honors those who keep His commnadments. iam4-1god
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? How did it relate to God's promises to David? He didn't want to leave his people without protection and leadership while they were still in danger from the Assyrians. Since he was a descendent of David he invoked the promise to David's seed for healing, so that he could get his house in order-physically, and spiritually! Gloray! Hezekiah had no son and heir, and his death would have more than likely resulted in chaos and power struggles for the throne. How did it relate to God's promises to David? God had promised David that he would never fail to have a descendent upon the throne. Hezekiah entreated God on the basis of this promise. RickJW
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? How did it relate to God's promises to David? For Hezekiah to die at this time, would have left Israel in a state of turmoil. Sennacherib was waiting with his Assyrian army, ready to attack. There was no clear successor to the throne of Israel, should Hezekiah die. For him to die without a son would break the Davidic line promised by God, which would then mean that God would have broken his promise to David. swordwoman
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? How did it relate to God's promises to David? To enable healing to flow from Hezekiah as leader to the people...to keep the people from being unprotected. He knew the importance of them having Godly leadership. Hezekiah knew the promises of God and he knew that God promised a king who would lead in a manner favorable to the Lord..despite his lack of having an heir. csreeves
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? How did it relate to God's promises to David? Hezekiah appealed to God's promises for an heir and for a righteous life which God hear and answered quickly. He had walked with God faithfully for a long time and he had walked righteously with God not in only in his judgement but in God's. He was also appealing to God's promises for David's son Solomon for long life and to walk rightly before him.
Tina
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? How did it relate to God's promises to David? It was necessary that Hezekiah was healed because he needed to produce an heir to continue to run the land in the same way that he did, which was Godly and which pleased God as well. God's promise to David was that his line of rulership as king would not be broken and also because the Messiah would come from the same line
Daff
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? How did it relate to God's promises to David? Hezekiah was always honouring God and the people needed to see that when God is honoured He in turn blesses us. It was a witness to the people. If God had allowed Hezekiah to die before he had an heir to the throne of his own blood, the Davidic line would have been broken.
Warring Hands
hEZEKIAH'S HEALING IS IMPORTANT TO HIS NATION INSHOWING THE INTEGRITY OF GOD'S WORD THAT HE DOES WHAT HE PROMISES. HE SAYS WE SHOULD BRING HIM IN REMEMBERANCE OF HIS WORD. GOD'S PROMISE TO dAVID RELATES DIRECTLY TO hEZEKIAH BECAUSE THE LINAGE FOLLOWS AND HEZEKIAH DID NOT YET HAVE ANY HEIR TO LEAVE FOR THE THRONE. During Hezekiah prayer for healing; he felt if he was to die there would be no heir and Godly leadership. Hezekiah remember God's promises to David that each King would come from the Davidic seed. He still had to make Manasse. Without Manasse, the royal line of David would be broken. Then God promise shouldn't have come true. God keeps His promises. patience123
Jerusalem was being threatened by Sennacharib, a terrible time for Hezekiah to die and leave his people without a leader. To be healed was of the greatest importance, not only to Hezekiah and his line but also to his nation. God promised David that his house ( dynasty ) would endure forever, and the throne would be established forever. Hezekiah appealed to those promises trusting that God would allow him the time to provide an heir to continue that line, a line that would bring forth the Messiah. PATCH
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? How did it relate to God's promises to David? Hezekiah was a godly leader. If he succumbed to his illness, his country would be without a godly and righteous leader. At that time, he had no son to inherit his throne. God had earlier promised that one of David's sons will always inherit the throne. This promise will not be fulfilled had Hezekiah died without a son. Kerneydr
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? How did it relate to God's promises to David? Judah had no successor at this time to lead them through difficulties. He knew the faint of Israel would be due to lack of godly leadership. He desired the best for Judah. He knew His God could turn the nation around with the right leadership. He lacked a successor to continue the promise that the future Messiah would be born through David

Trusting God
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? Hezekiah’s healing is important for his nation, because there would be no leader or successor if he died. There would be no heir to carry on the line of Davidic kings promised centuries before that would culminate in a Messiah. 2 Samuel 7:11-16 – “And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house. And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.”(KJV) How did it relate to God's promises to David? God’s promises relate to David, because God had promised an unbroken line of David’s sons upon the throne.
Onerivertrail
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? How did it relate to God's promises to David? At that time of Hezekiah's life he did not have an heir to succeed him on the throne. There would be no one to carry on the line of Davidic Kings. The nation would suffer without a King that could be a strong and godly leader that would lead the nation in the way it should go. I believe Hezekiah prayed with God's original intention in mind, to keep the throne sitted by one who came from the same line as David. God needed to spare Hezekiah's life but not until he had prayed as he did.
Gerbrand van Schalkwyk
The nation needed a king that believed in God to lead them through a.difficult time and to lead by example in trusting God. God promissed that the line of David would be on Israel's throne forever. He knew he had no sons. He also knew God keeps His promises. He believed the David line had to continue through himself. That is why he prayed and put his case before God. Why he pleaded in faith.
trinimama
Q3. Why is Hezekiah's healing important for his nation? How did it relate to God's promises to David There are a couple of reasons why Hezekiah's healing would be important. 1) As a demonstration of how God treats with his faithful followers; Hezekiah was a true servant of God. He trusted in God and removed the idolatrous practices of the people and instituted several practices to bring his people closer to God. His people would have seen his as a true example of Godly behaviour. His people would therefore have a reasonable expectation that such a good example would be blessed by good health and be a recipient of God's saving mercies. 2) At that time Judah had no leadership succession plan in place as there was no credible person who could takeover the reins of power on Hezekiah's demise. At this time the nation security was in a perilous state. Many surrounding nations had fallen to the Assyrians and had penal taxes to pay. Judah remained under serious threat from the Assyrians. It was critical for Hezekiah to identify and groom a strong and God fearing leader who would have the confidence of the people and could protect the nation. God's promises to David included long life for his faithful servants and a continued descendant on the throne of Israel. At the time of Hezekiah's illness he was still a young man not yet fifty years old. Thus his death would really give lie to God's promise of long life for those who faithfully serve him. In addition Hezekiah at the time had no child to ascend to the throne as a direct descendant. In prolonging Hezekiah's life God would merely or importantly be fulfilling his own promises to David .
