pickledilly
Daniel was obviously a devout student of God's Word and had been gifted by the LORD with prophetic understanding. As he read from Jeremiah, Daniel discerned the meaning of the 70 years of the desolations of Jerusalem and exile of God's people into captivity. He realized that this 70-year period was soon going to be completed, and he knew that the people of Israel needed to prepare themselves for their return to the homeland. They had spent decades in a foreign land where they had rebelled and sinned against their God. They needed to turn back to Him, be made clean before the LORD, and renew their commitment to Him. This would require great mercy from such a righteous God who had been rejected and offended by His own people. Daniel's whole life had been faithfully devoted to the LORD. I think he was encouraged because he knew God and had experienced God's great and faithful mercy. His life had been preserved more than once by miraculous intervention from the LORD. He was encouraged by knowing God would keep His Word, that His covenant of love and this prophecy would be fulfilled - because of God's righteousness and His mercy. class1fox
Daniel was encouraged because he knew that Yahweh was faithful to his word and to those who are faithful to Him. Daniel life style was faithful to Yahweh.

TennLady01
Q1. (9:1-3) What encourages Daniel to seek God for the forgiveness and restoration of Israel to its homeland? Daniel was encouraged by the bible itself he had read the book of Jeremiah and had studied this out to know that the end of the 70 years was at hand. He knew of Gods faithfulness and he stood on the word of God's prophet to believe it was the time for this to happen. What trait on Daniel's part brings this encouragement to pass? The fact that Daniel did not just do what others told him to do. Even the law did not stop him from calling on God three times a day. Daniel had put God to the test and found him faithful and true. Katzen
Daniel Seeks forgivenes for Israel, because he was reading the word of God and what was revealed to Jeremian. The trait of Daniel was that he read and studied the word of God regularly and faithfully...no matter what! His loyalty and faithfulness are quite inspiring! maggiemuggins
What encourages Daniel to seek God for the forgiveness and restoration of Israel to its homeland? He realized while studying the Scriptures that the 70 years of exile for the Israelites is almost finished, and that the prophecy of destruction of Babylon is near at hand. What trait on Daniel's part brings this encouragement to pass? Daniel was a prayer "warrior". He prayed to God three times a day, and he was not afraid to stand his ground for his beliefs. He believed the Scriptures and God's promises.

Lisa Rupert
Q1. (9:1-3) What encourages Daniel to seek God for the forgiveness and restoration of Israel to its homeland? DANIEL UNDERSTOOD THE SCRIPTURES GIVEN BY THE PROPHET JEREMIAH THAT DESOLUTION ON JERUSALEM WOULD LAST 70 YEARS BECAUSE OF UNFAITHFULNESS TO THE LORD. ALL OF ISRAEL HAD TRANSGRESSED THE LAW AND TURNED AWAY FROM THE LORD. SO DANIEL ASKED FORGIVENESS AND RESTORATION OF ISRAEL BECAUSE HE WAS A RIGHTEOUS MAN AND HE KNEW OF GOD'S MERCY. DANIEL WAS INTERCESSOR FOR THE ENTIRE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE WAS PRAYING TO THE KING INSTEAD OF PRAYING TO GOD. What trait on Daniel's part brings this encouragement to pass? BECAUSE DANIEL WAS CONSIDERED ONE OF THE MOST RIGHTEOUS MEN IN HISTORY, RIGHT ALONG WITH NOAH AND JOB. HE WAS DEVOTED TO GOD AND WHEN HE KNEW THAT PRAYING TO ANYONE EXCEPT THE KING WOULD LEAD TO PUNISHMENT HE DID IT ANYWAY. BECAUSE DANIEL KNEW GOD AND KNEW THAT THE 70 YEARS WERE ABOUT TO BE OVER SO HE PRAYED FOR MERCY FOR THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL. DANIEL NEVER COMPROMISED HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD EVEN AFTER SERVING 60 YEARS UNDER THE PAGAN GOVERMENTS.
ekila
Q1. (9:1-3) What encourages Daniel to seek God for the forgiveness and restoration of Israel to its homeland? Daniel understood that Israel was punished and scattered because of their sins, they have disobeyed God. He longed for his people to go back and berestored their homeland so that they would serve and honor God. Daniel understood also that what the prophets have said had come to pass. "'This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years. But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt,' declares the LORD, 'and will make it desolate forever.'" (Jeremiah 25:11-12; see also Jeremiah 29:10; 2 Chronicles 36:20-21 and Zechariah 1:12) What trait on Daniel's part brings this encouragement to pass? Daniel was faithful and uncompromising to do what was righteous in the eyes of the lord. He prayed that Israel must be restored for the people were named after the God and for his sake, Daniel prayed for forgiveness of his people. 15"Now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand and who made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we have done wrong. 16O Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our fathers have made Jerusalem and your people an object of scorn to all those around us. Help me o Lord to do well in this lesson.. MannyVelarde
Q1. (9:1-3) What encourages Daniel to seek God for the forgiveness and restoration of Israel to its homeland? Daniel was a man after God's heart. He studied the Torah and the Prophets, he was obedient and understood that Israel was in trouble. Israel's history of going away from God and their actions shows their disobedience of God's law. Daniel knows God and knows God's lovingkindness - Hebrew - Chesed Daniel had stood firm to God's law even in captivity - - he didn't eat the king's choice food - he ate as God had instructed. he was contantly believing God and living as God instructed. He knew God answered obedience and He knew God blessed obedience. To seek God is to know God will answer - Daniel Did.
Sadie Stromberg
Daniel was encouraged to pray to God for Israel because of his relationship with God in the past. God had been faithful to him by sparing his liife more than once. Daniel was true to God even though it could have meant that he would have lost his life for disobeying orders from the rulers. We, like Daniel, should pray for God to deliver our nation from the hands of our enemies even though we have gotten far away from God as a nation. We should pray that our country as a whole will turn back to God and to the principles established by our forefathers when our nation was founded. winevine03
The 70 year prophecy was just about up, and Daniel believed God and His word through His prophets, so Daniel figured he'd better get busy! Daniel's faith in God, and His promises and his willingness to humble himself and take on the sin's of the whole nation in intercession. Roberta
Q1 What ecourages Daniel to seek God for the forgiveneness and restoration of Isreal to its homeland? What trait on Daniel's part brings this encouragement to pass? Daniel pleaded with God to bring about the promished return of his people to thier land. The prophet Jeremiah had written that God would not allow the captivds to return to their land for 70 years (Jermiah 25:11, 12, 29:10)a Daniel had read this prophecy and kew that this 70 year period was coming to an end. Daniel knew just how to prayHe had read God's words and believed them. As he prayed he fasted, confessed his sins, and pleaded that God would revel his will. He prayed with complete surrender to God and with complete openness to what God was saying to him.
Rebekia
Even though Daniel was considered one of the rightous, he realized that they had all sinned. When he prayed to God he prayed a prayer of confession, because the disobeyed God. He asked God to forgive then because the was God people. Daniel appealed to the rightousness of God. I do not have an answer for part 2 of this question.
farmboy
1. Daniel was a man of God and knew God's word. Daniel knew that God could be counted on to live up to his word. Daniel knew the importance of Israel. 2. Knowing that if God gave his word it would happen, Daniel didn't take the easy way out and sit back and wait. Daniel knew exactly where he stood, no more no less, and he had to do his part. How often do we get lazy and say 'God said this will happen, on to the next item' , giving no more tha a casual thought to anything. We have more responsibility than to sit back and wait for the goodies to roll in.
lee trainor
Daniel was a student of the word and a prophet. He appeals to God's merciful character. Daniel believes that by taking it upon himself to pray a "confessional" prayer, praying for everyone mind you, that God will hold true to his word and forgive his people of their sins. The trait that Daniel possessed was humility.
June
The covenant that God made with the Israelites. That Prophecy was about to be fulfilled. Daniel knew that the 70 years was just about up. Daniel didn't want Babylon (Jerusalem) completely destroyed and made desolate Daniel was always the Intercessor for his people. Believing the prophecy of Jeremiah. Knew that God would answer his prayers because of his faithfulness and persistance.
ajtmaestro71
Q1. (9:1-3) What encourages Daniel to seek God for the forgiveness and restoration of Israel to its homeland? What trait on Daniel's part brings this encouragement to pass? Daniel seeks out God's forgiveness after learning of the punishment God dealt the Israelites for their sin. I think Daniel feels so bad for them that he is moved to intercede for them. He seems to feel compassion.
Helenmm
Daniel has been studying the scriptures of prophecies concerning the desolation of Jerusalem and the number of years that the people would be absent. This brought him to realise that those years were nearly complete and that the return of the Jews to Israel was imminent. Therefore he went before God in prayer for the return and the re-occupation of Jerusalem by Jews. WFe also need to study the scriptures and be fully aware of consistent prophecy of these times. As he sought to repent on behalf of the nation, so weneed torepent on behalf of our nation and church, and seek true knowledge of God for these times. The trait in Daniel was consistent study of the word of God written by the prophets, and his daily prayer times - three times a day. All his consciousness was filled with God. All his days were lived in godliness. O brothers and sisters in Christ, may this be true of us today. Let us build a life of consistent study and prayer, obeying eery word of our God. For these days are the very last days, and Jesus is returning sooner than we think! Let us all be like Daniel, mindful of our Jesus in every moment. Elder9
Daniel was encouraged by the writings of the Prophet Jeremiah, and knowing that God had said their deliverance would be after 70 years (and those years were now ending) knowing the faithfulness of God to His word Daniel was truly encouraged to ask and to interceed. Throughout Daniel's lengthy life in Babylon he'd become quite the intercessor. So it was rather natural for him to speak on behalf of a speachless nation. The trait, ... God had shown Daniel quite a few things, and had been with him and his friends through several tight situations. Through this Daniel learned to trust God and rely on His written and spoken word. Daniel found God to be Faithful. Relying on God became a trait that pronounces the relationship between Daniel & God. Prayer was a key to their relationship, they talked constantly. Daniel talked and God listened, God talked and Daniel listened. And nothing would stop nor interfere with that.
revking88
Daniel's knowledge of the scriptures told him the 70 years was almost over and that Israel needed help in getting started. He knew the consequences of not praying to Darius alone, yet he took on the sins of the nation of Israel anyways. TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART!
