Both Abraham and Melchizedek believed that God is the creator of heaven and earth and controls everything. Even though his ancestors worship many gods and idols, Abraham worshipped El Elyon. Melchizedek could have served many gods too but he chose to serve only the most high God. Inspite of all the idolatry and praying to other gods, both men were confident of their fath in El Elyon, who is the one true God and had supremacy over all.

They believed He was the God above all gods. They believed Him to be a personal God, willing to be involved in their lives and powerful enough to conquer their enemies. They worshiped Him and Him alone. They worshipped and and I believe incorporated in that, they feared Him with that healthy fear of God that embodies respect, worship, adoration and total obedience.

These men share bread and wine in fellowship and agreement. They refer to God as "God Most High", creator of Heaven and Earth. They believe that God was the One who enabled the victory over the enemies. Abraham recognized Melchizedek as priest of God Most High, and gave him a tithe of the spoils. Melchizedek blessed Abraham.

They both believe that God created both the Heavens and the Earth.  That he is the Most High God. He rules over everything and deserves to be praised.  They also both know that without God Abram would not have been able to rescue them from their enemies.

Q1. (Genesis 14:19, 20, 22) What did Abraham and Melchizedek seem to believe in common about God Most High?

They both worshipped God the Most High. They both believed God to be the "One in charge of everything". With no scriptures yet available, anyone who sought God had to find Him on a personal level, as Abraham had. God had to reveal Himself to them in order for them to know Him at all. Most likely God had revealed Himself to Melchizedek at a time prior to when he met Abraham. Perhaps Abraham had met Melchizedek earlier but the meeting was not recorded in Genesis. Let's remember that Abraham moved about a lot as a shepherd. It's likely the two men had met previously and even compared notes as to their respective beliefs about God. I think, although it's not suggested in the passage, that Melchizedek came to greet Abraham after the latter's victory to congratulate and bless him as a friend. I don't think that's too much of a stretch. The fact the Abraham gave him a tithe suggests that Abraham knew Melchizedek and knew him to be a priest/king and a fellow worshipper of God the Most High.

Both Abraham and Melchizedek agreed that the Most High God was the maker of heaven and earth.  Even though they seemed to come at the situation from different positions, they both acknowledged Him as the most supreme God who is the ultimate Creator.

Abraham identifies himself with the God of Melchizedek in the presence of the king of Sodom. They both believed in The Most High who is the Creator. They both acknowledged the blessings from the Most High God and that he is to be blessed.

Abram the most high God, is the possessor of heaven and earth; the most high God delivered thine enemies into thy hand.

SInce God is over the eath and eveything that is in it, He is exalted to the possessor of heaven and earth (everything).
