Delta Cog
Psalm 95:1-7 uses the terms Lord, Rock, King (above all gods), Maker and the great God. It otherwise refers to God as being the creator and former of the seas, mountains, heavens and earth. The scriptures imply He is our Shepherd or guide and caretaker. It describes us as the people of His pasture and the flock under His care. From the names and titles within the passages, our God is the one and only God. He is our Lord to which we are willingly enslaved (by His love for us and (hopefully) our love for Him). He has given us the very life we breathe. He has created all we see around us. He has given us the gift of salvation that allows us to spend eternity with Him. He is the rock or foundation of our faith. He also shepherds us along our walk through this life, guiding and protecting us. He is the ultimate power, over all that exists. As our creator, saviour, protector and guide He is deserving of our praise, worship and thanks. We are told an appropriate form of worship for includes Him; joyfully singing for Him and giving thanks and praise to Him in music and song. We are told we should bow down and worship Him, as a sign of our recognizing His position. God has infinite power and created our universe; one which is so immense we measure it in light years. Compare how small we, as individuals, are with the scope of all of His creation. In spite of His awesome nature, He still loves and uplifts what is a pretty insignificant life force. His interest in us is so complete that He has

What does the Psalmist call on us to do in response to God revealed in his Names? Why are these actions appropriate? I have found the name Lord, Rock, King, Maker. We are to sing for joy to the Lord, shout aloud to the rock, come before Him with Thanksgiving. Extol Him with music and song. Bow down and worship Him. Kneel before Him because He is God our creator, Maker, Lord, King of our salvation and He made everything. This action is appropriate because we were made to worship Him, and if we don't the rocks will cry out. He is worthy of all our worship and praise and adoration. Rosesam
Q3. (Psalm 95:1-7) How many names, titles, and metaphors of God can you find in this passage, both explicit and implicit? What does the Psalmist call on us to do in response to God revealed in his Names? Why are these actions appropriate? The explicit titles, names and metaphor are that He is the LORD (YHVH), the Rock, God, a great King and Maker. The implicit titles, names and metaphor are that He is the Maker (vs.5 ) and the Potter (hands formed vs. 5), Shepherd (vs. 7) In response to His revealed Names, the Psalmist calls us to sing unto the Lord and to make a joyful noise unto Him. He extolls to come before His presence with thanksgiving and sing psalms to Him. For all things are in His hands, whether it be the deep places or the high places of the earth. He made both the seas and the dry land. But He made us the sheep of His pasture and thus we belong to Him, more intimate than anything else and thus it is a privilege unto us to worship Him. (Psalm 95:1-7) How many names, titles, and metaphors of God can you find in this passage, both explicit and implicit? What does the Psalmist call on us to do in response to God revealed in his Names? Why are these actions appropriate? I can count six names: LORD, Rock of our Salvation, Great God, Great King, Maker, Our God. The Psalmist asks us to extol our God through song and music, and through shouts of joy. These are just some of the ways we can worship Our LORD, our God, and Creator. It is basically the way we should believe in our God-- through joyful songs, and exuberant calls.
Jonathan Edwards
Psal.95:3 we have 3 names of God. Our Jehovah, the Lord ; El,the great God and Elohim the great King. God is the rock of our salvation which means that he is our strong defense and His salvation is all powerful. HE is our Maker. We are to sing, make a joyfull noise, utter our voices of Thanksgiving, worship, bow down, kneel before our Maker and be open to hear His voice. We must forsake having hardened hearts. Now we are called to be inner court Christains as described in the EPISTLE to the Hebrews. We are to rest in Christ and come boldly into the Holy of Holies each day. We cannot provoke God by our self willed lives. The one and final sacrifice for sins has been paid. We do not rely on the Law of Moses nor on our own good deeds to get to heaven. Christ alone is both the Victim and the one offering the one final atonement. Truly our Joshua has gone on before us ! Imagine how wonderfull the status we have! Called to be high priests !
