Kaitlin
The first thing I think of when I see this picture is a peace of restoration--the peace that is found because of Jesus' death and resurection. The complete idea of this peace doesn't come from the reconcilation alone, but rather from God's presence as well, YET reconciliation gives us a peace knowing we are then granted the gift of dwelling eternally in God's presence. (Romans 5) The peace that will be found in the New heaven and earth will truly be peace that goes completely beyond our understanding of peace (Phil. 4:7) This peace is so complete it will make unthinkable things commonplace--little children will play near and with ferocious beasts without fear. But I highly doubt this one benefit of the New heaven and new earth's version of peace is even the tip of the iceberg. I have experienced God's peace that passes all understanding here on earth--amidst all the confusion and distractions that get thrown at me, how much more so will I be able to experience God's peace in this new environment. This New world will be free of the deadlines and distractions and sin that threaten our ability to connect with God and recieve his peace here. In the New heaven and earth, Isaiah 11 says "For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea." I imagine that the peace will be as deep and complete as the water as well. I think we will literally be drowning in peace.
Kaitlin
One last thought--perhaps the most important concept of the peace found in the new heaven and earth, is that it is an eternal gift. Whenever we experience a faint glimmer of peace here in this fallen world, it seems we must ironically alway fight to preserve peace, we remain fearful of the next outburst of strife. In the New Heaven and the New Earth, the peace will be forever, without end, and we will not have to fight to protect the peace. We will live in complete and perfect peace, freely and without fear, forever.

JanMary
Q4. What kind of shalom will the Prince of Peace bring about in the New Heavens and the New Earth? What do we have to look forward to? Shalom means nothing missing, nothing broken. He is Peace, and the New Heavens and New Earth will be as He intended before the Fall of Adam and Eve. There will be perfection, no sin, no more tears, only intimiate fellowship between He and His Bride....the fulfillment of His plans for us. An environment where His is the only light needed... the sun won't shine because His glory will be so radiant it won't be needed any longer. An eternity of joy and wholeness...where His Word says we will see Him face to face and we will be like Him in character...the flesh left behind, and new glorified bodies unhampered by gravity. I can hardly wait....even so, Come Lord Jesus.....I hear You calling Your children home....

Our fallen nature will be no more, because our Messiah will have brought us to true peace and freedom in the New Heavens and the New Earth. 2 Peter 3:

Rosesam
Q4. What kind of shalom will the Prince of Peace bring about in the New Heavens and the New Earth? What do we have to look forward to? The creation that we see now is after the Fall and the Flood. So many cataclysmic changes happened in both the events that the creation we see now may not be how God had originally created it. We see the beauty of creation and are awed by it, but it is actually hurting for we read in Romans 8:20-22 “For the creation was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope. Because the creature itself also shall be delivered form the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now”. When the Prince of Peace reigns there would be restoration of creation, probably to how it was originally created. There would be no more violence even in the animal world. There will be righteousness and peace as satan would be bound for one thousand years. Nations will not war against each other and there will be real peace on earth, when the rightful owner of the earth is on the throne. After the Millennial reign the earth will pass away and there will be a creation of new heaven and new earth. It may be too awesome to describe in words for 1 Corinthians 2:9 says Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things God has prepared for those who love Him. We will not be living in a water based planet then, for Revelation says that there was no longer any sea. There will no sun, no moon, no temple in New Heaven and New Earth. We will be close proximity to our Lord and it is truly something to look forward to. No wonder Revelation ends with the Spirit and Bride saying Come, Lord Jesus. Mona Burton
On 3/8/2006 at 10:11 PM, Pastor Ralph said: Q4. What kind of shalom will the Prince of Peace bring about in the New Heavens and the New Earth? What do we have to look forward to? The kind of shalom that the Prince of Peace will bring about in the New Heaven and the New Earth is one that will eradicate all strife and hostility. Racism, oppression, and depression, will all cease to exist. Diseases, sicknesses and death, epidemics and pandemic will have no place in God's new world. There will be no more wars or rumors of wars. All conflict at every level of life, of human as well as animals, will be eliminated, unrighteousness will be a thing of the past, and all of God's creation will dwell together in His shalom. We, as children of the Prince of Peace, will have the joy of living with Him in a restored world free from sin. A world where true peace will be 'the order of the day,' in which all of God's creatures will dwell together in harmony. There will be no more temptations to face, no more brokenness, and no more tears to dim our eyes. This is just a glimpse of what we have to look forward to. Jonathan Edwards
No more oppression and conflict: hunger, sorrow and disease will not be in the new age. This shalom that will be prevalent will be so evident, no more wars and strife. The vision of the river that the Prophet Ezekiel had summarizes it very well. (Ezekiel 47). Fruit trees that bear fruit all year, Dead Sea will have fish and the Word of God shall go throughout the world from Jerusalem. New boundaries will be assigned to the 12 tribes of Israel. Finally Israel will get its patrimony as promised to Prophet Abraham. In the new age, our personal Amaleks will be no more.
Bianca
A world with no more sin and corruption. No injustice. We have a lot to look forward to such as no more sin and everything being done right and also more wonderful things that we don't know about yet. That's the fun mystery the things we don't know. Much to look forward to.
