Marloes
Q2. What was the purpose of the Passover meal for future generations? Why was it to be repeated? What was to be remembered? What would have happened if the Jews had stopped remembering the Exodus? Purpose: to remember the exodus from Egypt. If we don't repeat, we forget. That God is God and that He's done miracles. Then they would have forgotte it or maybe they would have thought it was just some story.
hanks
Q2. What was the purpose of the Passover meal for future generations? To celebrate the occasion when the Lord spared the first-born of the Israelites, those who had the blood of a lamb spread on their door frame, but struck down all the Egyptian first-born, both man and animal. Why was it to be repeated? It was commanded by our Lord, and it was to be a feast of remembrance. What was to be remembered? The deliverance of Israel from Egypt during the Exodus. What would have happened if the Jews had stopped remembering the Exodus? They would be disobeying a command God had given them
Foofee's Nana
What was the purpose of the Passover meal for future generations? To help them remeber what the Jewish people had gone through during 400 years of slavery in Egypt. Why was it to be repeated? It was to be repeated so they would not forget....a remembrance table. What was to be remembered? Unleavened bread ( no time to let bread rise) Haroseth represents the mortar ( this was a paste of fruit and nuts) Bitter herbs to remember their enslavement Parsley dipped in salt water for the tears of the Jewish slaves. Roasted egg for spring Lamb's meat was part of the meal for the blood from the passover lamb Four cups of wine to mean-- freedom, deliverance, redemption, and release. A fifth cup of wine in the contemporary Jewish seder, the Cup of Elijah, looks forward to the coming of the Messiah. What would have happened if the Jews had stopped remembering the Exodus? If they had stopped remembering the Exodus from Egypt perhaps they would have broken the kind of fellowship that God truly desires with us. This would finally fortell the true Passover Lamb....our Lord Jesus.
Kerneydr
Q2.What was the purpose of the Passover meal for future generations? It was a reminder to the children of Israel of the real and dynamic deliverance from slavery. Why was it to be repeated? It was to be repeated because humans forget. They needed to be reminded regularly. What was to be remembered? They were to remember the dramatic deliverance from slavery which also represented a deeper spiritual deliverance as well. What would have happened if the Jews had stopped remembering the Exodus? They would forget what God had done for them and stray from his covenant. jacquie7
It was a memorial feast that was and is still today repeated to remind the Jews of their deliverance from bondage in Egypt. They are to have a celebration to the LORD for delivering them and passing over their houses sparing them and the lives of their first born when He struck down Egypt. It was too easy for them to forget and take for granted who delivered them from bondage that is why they needed to repeat the Passover meal, so they would remember for generations to come what the LORD had done for them. He redeemed them from their captivity.
tgandy
The purpose of the Passover meal was so future generations would remember the Israelite's hurried exit from Egypt and who delivered them. It was also to be remembered and repeated so they would never forget who passed over the houses of the Israelites and spared their homes when he struck down the Egyptians. It was to be remember that in the rush to leave Egypt there was not time for the bread to rise so unleavened bread is used for remembrance. They use haroseth to represent the mortar in the bricks used for Pharaoh. The use bitter herbs to remind them of the bitter affliction of slavery. Parsley dipped in salt water reminds them of the tears of the Jewish slaves. A roasted egg is a symbol of Spring. A shank bone reminds those of the Passover lamb. Four cups of wine representing, freedom, deliverance, redemption and release and a fifth cup is the Cup of Elijah. All of these used in a Seder are used to remind what the ancestors went though and they will not forget what the Holy One has done for them. I think if the Jews had stopped remembering this meal what happened to their ancestors would have been forgotten. This is most important as it is their heritage. JoanG
The Passover Meal is a commemeratio of the story of Exodus. It tells of their liberation from Egyptian rule. It was to be repeated so that future generations would remember how God saved the Israelites. It signified how God passed over the houses of the Israelites who had put blood on their door posts the night of the last plague where the first born males were killed. I feel that the Jewish faith would not be so strong today had they forgotten how God saved them in the beginning. I feel that this is one of the stongest holidays for them. It gives them their identity as God's chosen people.

Debra Grant
Q2. What was the purpose of the Passover meal for future generations? Why was it to be repeated? What was to be remembered? What would have happened if the Jews had stopped remembering the Exodus? 1. And Passover itself is designed as a feast of remembrance to enable the future generation of how God delivered the Israelites from the Egyptians. 2. It was to celebrate as a festival to the LORD concerning a lasting memory of how God freed his people from bondage. 3. God protected them through the passing over their houses that had blood on the door posts. 4. They would have forgot what God had done for them and go back to living in bondage. Mr.B
What was to be remembered? Yes deliverance but more specifically... "For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to smite you.(Exo 12:23) What would have happened if the Jews had stopped remembering the Exodus? We need not speculate since we have such an example given to us in 2Ki 23:21-25. "Then the king commanded all the people saying, "Celebrate the Passover to the LORD your God as it is written in this book of the covenant." Surely such a Passover had not been celebrated from the days of the judges who judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel and of the kings of Judah. But in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, this Passover was observed to the LORD in Jerusalem. Moreover, Josiah removed the mediums and the spiritists and the teraphim and the idols and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD. Before him there was no king like him who turned to the LORD with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; nor did any like him arise after him."
