Debra
Pauls's teaching in 1 Corinthians 10:17 says ''Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf'', this in relation to Mark 11:25 and Matthew 5:23-24 shows how we all need to forgive and be reconciled with one another. The accounts in both Mark and Matthew teach about forgiveness, we cannot partake of the Lord's supper righteously if we have sinned against our brothers and sisters. First we must examine our own hearts, if we find we bear a grudge, this must be settled before we can gather around the Lord's table and partake of the one loaf. We must be at one with each other, so we can all be in the one body of Christ.
Marci
Q2. Read Mark 11:25 and Matthew 5:23-24. How do these relate to Paul's teaching on the One Loaf (1 Corinthians 10:17)? What must we personally do to achieve unity to prepare ourselves to partake of the Lord's Supper righteously? Just as we partake from the one loaf, one loaf for all, we remember that Jesus died for all, the sins of all. He loves us all despite are weaknesses, our sins. Therefore, when we are preparing to partake of the Lord's Supper, if we still harbor unforgiveness toward someone, we need to ask God to help us forgive them and love them as He has forgiven and loves us. That way we can be right with them and with God, when we partake of the Lord's Supper.

Commissioned
Q2. Read Mark 11:25 and Matthew 5:23-24. How do these relate to Paul's teaching on the One Loaf (1 Corinthians 10:17)? Both passages Mark 11:25 and Matthew 5:23-24 speak to reconciling with a brother that you have an issue with; Paul's teaching on the One Loaf teaches that when we are out of fellowship with a brother we are actually out of fellowship with ourselves since we are one in Christ. What must we personally do to achieve unity to prepare ourselves to partake of the Lord's Supper righteously? To prepare ourselves to partake of the Lord's Supper righteously we must personally examine our relationship with others and if there be a wrong go and make it right prior to partaking of the Lord's Supper. PASTOR D
The teaching of Christ are basic - if and when we break fellowship with the brethren it results in broken fellowship in the Body of Christ. . . As members of the Body of Christ we should do all that it takes to remain unified. . . We must settle all disputes - forgive our offenders - and make amends when we have offended before partaking of the Lord's Supper. . . We must also repent and forsake all sinful activity in our lives. . .

Foofee's Nana
How do these relate to Paul's teaching on the One Loaf (1 Corinthians 10:17)? What must we personally do to achieve unity to prepare ourselves to partake of the Lord's Supper righteously? Mark 11:25 Jesus asked that we make sure that we have a clean heart when we come before Him. Prayer is not all about asking, but also about forgiving. Matthew 5:23-24 if we come to worship and give our offering and remember we holld a grudge, we need to go make it right with that person before we honor and worship God. We are held accountable for our actions. To achieve unity before partaking of the Lord's Supper we really need to dosome soul searching and make sure that we are right with God....and have done what He has asked of us. This is not an acto to be taken lightly....we honor Him for the shedding of His body and blood.

jacquie7
Forgiveness is the key in here. Believers are the body of Christ and Him being the One Loaf, requires unity….To rightly partake in the Lord’s Supper we have to put aside ill feelings against other Christians and make an attempt to rectify relationships that need mending. That’s to say that people have to be best friends, but there needs to be reconciliation with in the body of Christ in order to be one with Him. tgandy
The verses in Mark and Matthew relate to Paul's teaching on the One Loaf in that all are concerned with unity. One cannot come to the Table harbouring grudges against another. We must be in fellowship and love our neighbors as ourselves. Personally before Holy Communion we must be right with God, our fellow man and with ourselves. We must pray and be in "touch" with our heart and our Heavenly Father. JoanG
Both readings in Mark and Matthew say how we have to have the good will with our fellow man before we go before the Lord with any type of prayer or offering. There must be peace within ourselves and within the hearts of those we might have hurt. we need to take responsibility for our actions and thoughts. We need to be an example of the ideals of Christ. There needs to be a peaceful and loving calm in our souls before we can get the true blessings of Christ. Only, with peace, can we feel the Grace of God within our hearts and souls. Otherwise, we are acting out the actions of the service and getting none of the benefits or graces from God.
