The Lord's Supper looks backward as a remembrance to the death of Christ for our sins. It looks to the present as a communion with the living Christ, and it looks to the future as a promise of eternal life in the presence of God.

The Lord Supper points to the past the time when Israel was in Egypt. When Pharoh finally let Israel go they slain a baby lamb that is fit to be slain and had supper and the lambs blood was post on all the Israelites house so death would passover them. That was the picture of Jesus being slain on the cross and died for your sins and mines.

The present it points to the communion that we have every 1st of the month or however each church conduct their communion.

Then the future we are waiting upon the return of our Lord Jesus Christ and we'll meet in the air and have the greatest banquest ever.

Q3. In what sense does the Lord's Supper point to the past? How does it point to the present? How does it point to the future?

In Pastor Ralph's commentary, he summarized the past, present and future. His comments are as follows:"The Lord's Supper looks backward as a remembrance to the death of Christ for our sins. It looks to the present as a communion with the living Christ, and it looks to the future as a promise of eternal life in the presence of God."

We must remember why Jesus died, then we can have communion with Him until we see again and finally He promises us with eternal life.

Jesus is/was/will be.

Jesus and the apostles had their last supper in the past.

We have the Lord's Supper in the present to remember Him.

We do this to have a future in Christ.

Q3.

In what sense does the Lord's Supper point to the past?

The Jews had celebrated the Passover for centuries. They were commemorating the fact that God had delivered them from Egypt through the blood of the spotless lamb. But we have the true Passover Lamb whose blood was shed for the salvation of all who put their trust in Him.

How does it point to the present?

Presently we have fellowship with our brothers and sisters who will be spending eternity with us.

How does it point to the future?

The Lord

It points to the past as we remember the Lord's death.

How does it point to the present?

It points to the present as we come together in communion with other Christians.

How does it point to the future?

It points to the future as we look forward to being at the Great Banquet with our Lord's.

The Lord's Supper points to the past to show what Christ sacrificed for us....we are to remember.

It points to the present as a form of our remembering with other believers.

It points to the future with the promise of blessed eternity in heaven.

The Lord's Supper points to the past in that it is our reminder that this life isn't the best life.  We have a much better life ahead of us.  This life points to the present as a communion with the living Christ and to the future as a promise of eternal life in the presence of God.

The Lord's Supper points to the past as a reminder of all the lessons that Jesus taught the Apostles and all of his followers. We are to remember that great sacrifice that he gave to us. We are to remember how he died and how his death actually started the Church we now belong to. He made it possible for people to approach God in a more personal way.

Today, we are to gather in a brotherhood with our fellow brothers and sisters in the ever present living Christ. There is to be a feast of the unity that we share together. It is to be a time of healing and a time of empowering ourselves to live more like Christ in every day of our lives.

It points our hearts and souls to the future where we will be in heaven with our Father and Brother. Where there will be eternal life in heaven.

1. It’s a remembrance of the death of Christ for our sins.

 2. It points to the present as a communion with the living Christ.

 3. It points to the future as a promise of eternal life in the presence of Go

I think of it this way:

The past - we remember the meal Jesus started, transformed from remembering the Passover meal

The present - we re-enact the meal because we use real bread and wine we can feel and taste. I pray it's the most satisfying meal I have that week, even though it may not be the biggest. Satisfaction comes in different forms.

The future - we rehearse for the eternal banquet in the end time.

Remember, re-enact, rehearse. It's my past, present, and future.
