According to Ephesians 2:10, what were we created to do?

We were created to do good works.

Why?

Because our Father in heaven needed us to be his feet and his hands to do on earth to bring others into his kingdom.

(Matthew 5:16) What is the difference between these works and the works Paul discredits in verse 9?

So that when others see us the are actually seeing Jesus through us. Where in verse 9 it was because some were doing good works to show out.

According to Ephesians 2:10, what were we created to do? Why? (Matthew 5:16) What is the difference between these works and the works Paul discredits in verse 9?

We were created by God to do "good works" and we are given spiritual gifts and natural talents to do such good works. We do this in praise of God and for His glory. By this we show His light in the world. By following the teachings of Jesus we also hope to encourage others to open their hearts so the Holy Spirit can enter and be the agent that transforms them into the likeness of Jesus. The works we do are a manifestation of being in Christ. They are an expression of our faith and our discipleship. We do not simply listen to, or read, the Word, but we do what it says. [James 1:22] Our works have nothing to do with our salvation. This is entirely the result of God's grace, which is undeserved; our sinfulness is far too great for that. No works from us can gain salvation and the redemption: only the atoning sacrifice of Jesus on the cross can do that.

Before the foundation of the world God has always had a plan and nothing man has done or will do will stop that plan. We can however stop the will of God in our lives by not sumitting to him and allowing him to lead us into the fullness of what he planned for us before we were even born. If you are saved and submitting to God we will be full of the good works of God but we can not be saved by our works they are a result of being saved.

In Ephesians 2:10 it states that we are God's workmanship and He created us for good works, this means that before we were born we were set apart for Him then once we accept salvation he teaches us what to do and His servants and children. We are saved by faith and not by what we do as humans so we should not go around saying that we are saved because of our own selves but by God who is our Master. The work in verse 10 is because God is part of it all along and in what Paul says is because we think that we have done it by our own strength

Both scriptures shows that it is not what WE do that makes our works know by others but it is God's power through us that makes a difference in our day to day life.

I volenteer at a chronic care facility and there are a number of volenteers there. But it still amazes me that when I'm even doing the littlest task how the residents respone and alot time ask if I am a Christian.

Being a Christian is like breathing.. is natural when we are walking close to our Lord. Like a lamp or light on a hill. Reflecting Christ though us.

So it is how we handle our day to day task that other may see Christ in me..

Not the good works but the real purpose and LOVE behind what we do and the HOPE that lies in all of us.

We were created to do good works and to live as Jesus did- serving others. These works were part of an eternal plan and the gifts of the Holy Spirit guide those works.

There is a difference between works of the flesh described by Paul and the work of serving others that is God given.

According to Ephesians 2:10, we were created to do good works in order that we may fulfill our destiny on earth. Also to give glory to God.

The works in Ephesians 2:9 refer to works people do to try to please God and get into heaven.

We were created to give God glory in everything we do, think, and say. If our works (actions;deeds) are impacted by faith, then they can become beacons that point attention to God. The works are a love response to God - born out of our faith and demonstrate our desire to please Hime. The type of works Paul is discussing reflect an attempt to earn salvation - to purchase a ticket to Heaven, so to speak.

(Matthew 5:16) What is the difference between these works and the works Paul discredits in verse 9?

The works mentioned in Matthew 5:16 are works that bring Honor and Glory to God. The works mentioned in verse 9, are when we think that our works will get us to Heaven, and that

Q3. According to Ephesians 2:10, what were we created to do? Why? (Matthew 5:16) What is the difference between these works and the works Paul discredits in verse 9?

Eph 2:10 says we are created for "good works" Good works comes about when we devote our lives to Christ, because we love HIm and want to obey and serve Him...not b/c we're trying to achieve a goal, salvation or eternity with God.

Mt 5:16 could be misinterpreted...that we should do things for the praise of others; but that isn't so. Our works , good and bad, are always seen by others. Bad works takes away from the love we receive from God. It makes the onlooker think "what kind of Christian are they?"...or "if they are a Christian and do THAT, I don't want any part of Christianity!" Good works shine like a beacon in the night, showing others what God can do to us, through us, and for us! When something good happens to us, like completing a task for God successfully, we need to give Him the glory, for without Him, we can no nothing. Others see this and want a part of the joy we have in pleasing God. Knowing God enabled us to perform might make them see that they, too, can have His love and grace in their lives.

Good works don't need to be tooted on our horns...they will be seen by those who need to see it. Boasting about "our" accomplishments will only turn others away. The "good work" will be tarnished and God will not be honored.

Q3. According to Ephesians 2:10, what were we created to do? Why? (Matthew 5:16) What is the difference between these works and the works Paul discredits in verse 9?

We were created first to worship God and then in Eph. 2:10, to do good works, to give glory and honor to God, so that men will see our good works and they will glorfiy God.

There are times when people do works in the flesh for they can be seen, and for they can boast in what they are doing. The works in V.10 is working for God, to glorfiy God, not ourselves.

We are Created to do the Good works for god..

In Mathew it says that we are Light for others...... And also to be an example for others...

But Paul clearly says that God had Chosen before itself(Before we are created in mother womb)... Its also clear that we blessed by god grace not by man deeds...

That work is that we do.... ;)

This work is that of Gods Grace....

According to Ephesians 2:10 what were we credited to do? Why? Matthew5:16.

Good works so that God will be glorified! What a great calling! Work on O King Eternal!!

What is the difference between these works and the works Paul discredits in verse 9?

These works are the result of salvation and the Holy Spirit working in us. The ones in verse 9 are referring to the human efforts to earn salvation.

God Bless!

Q3. According to Ephesians 2:10, what were we created to do? Why? (Matthew 5:16) What is the difference between these works and the works Paul discredits in verse 9?

We are created to do good works - these are works of love which God prepare long before we were even born. These works were ment to be done not to merit God's blessings or salvation but as light, as witnessing of our faith in God aand as a proof that we are trully His children. Difference is that works on which Paul thinks are laws made by men and people thought if they follow these laws they earned God's salvation. I did good and you god must give me what I earned - and it is not faith or love it is something done without heart.

Q3. According to Ephesians 2:10, what were we created to do? Why? (Matthew 5:16) What is the difference between these works and the works Paul discredits in verse 9?

According to Eph 2:10 we were created for good works - deeds of righteousness and holiness(Gal. 5:22-23). The reason is for for our light (works) to shine before men so they see our good works and glorify Jehovah, our God (Matt. 5:16). Our works will lead men to God or otherwise, the reason for us to practice good works so unbelievers will be led to Christ.

The works Paul discredits in verse 9 refers to the strict obedience of the Law (Torah) as righteousness and salvation as practiced and taught by the Pharisees but the good works in Ephesians 2:10 refers to good deeds as a result of faith in the redemption of work of Christ.

god prepared for us good works to walk in. we are to live out this very life he has given us for all to see and partake of. we might bear fruit, but the fruit is for others who walk by. i never seen a fruit tree eat it's own fruit. we are to bring glory and praise to our father in heaven.the other works are of no use.people might see them and be astonished by them, but they are not for god, they are for our praise to ourselves. they don't bring anything to the table, other than a shallow insincere distastefulness.

As said above, we are created by God to do good works (faith in action) for the glory of God our Savior once the Holy Spirit convicted and saved us through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; these good works are different from the works that Paul discredits in verse 9 because they come after we are saved and thus are for the purpose of helping to fulfill and to be for God

We were created to do good works that God planned and equipped us to do before we were even formed. These were planned so that he could work through us to allow His light and spirit to shine and illuminate others. We are not able to do these works, until we have received the spirit in us through faith in him. All the good works that Matthew refers to are those that we do out of faith and love of God and to try to be more like the person he desires us to be. The works Paul discredits are those done on our own strength, not through the strength of the Holy Spirit and they are done to earn favor with God. We have to have favor with God in order to do those works. To have that favor, we have to accept his gift of grace and salvation first.

according to ephesians 2:10 we are created to do good works. why? so that others may see our good works and it would Glorify God. these good works are the works that we do to please God, the works that Paul was against was the works that we do to edify ourselves, the ritualistic following of the law, just to say look at us at what we are doing.

We were created to do good works, so that God might be glorified in us. These works we do because of our faith, but Paul talks about works that we do because we do not have faith in verse 9.
