ella
The Apostles and Paul had a personal relationship with Jesus. They serve as an example of obedience to God. Minimizing/straying/superceding- we are not in tune with God's word and are following our own desires. Denying- we take away the power of the gospel. AngelOnLine
Q1. (Ephesians 3:2-5) Why is God's revelation to "his holy apostles and prophets" our authority for faith and practice? Because it is the Word of God. We should take His Word to heart without question. What is the danger of minimizing or straying from that revelation? To minimize or stray from His Word, would be to disobey God. What is the danger of superseding that revelation? If we supersede the revelation, we are doing our own thing instead of God
raymond
God's revelation is our authority for faith and practice because the revelation in the Scriptures is inspired or God breathed. To deny or supersede the words of God as revealed through the Holy Spirit is to disobey God. Besides the Scripture is the only standard or measure by which to measure all other revelations. Lynnely
Q1. (Ephesians 3:2-5) Why is God's revelation to "his holy apostles and prophets" our authority for faith and practice? What is the danger of minimizing or straying from that revelation? What is the danger of superceding that revelation? What is the danger of denying that God reveals himself to us and to his church today? Since the Church is God's possession, why shouldn't He be able to prescribe the way it should be formed and carried out? God alone is the Head of the Church. If we were to put into practice (which we humans often do because we think God can't handle things of today by Himself) what we "thought" would be a better idea or way...churches would fail....and do! Straying from God's revelation is not only sinful, but it's promoting failure. Satan would like nothing better than to see an active, Spirit-filled church go down the drain. When we start changing God's plan of the Church by watering it down to fit the standards of the world, we see failure. Today I see many churches changing their names from, for example, First Christian Church to Elmwood Family Plaza. This is so as not to scare the un-churched away??? Give me a break! It's because we're more interested in mega-attendences than mega-scriptural knowledge and wisdom! I believe for the most part God has revealed to us today...and tomorrow...all the things He wants us to know. Have we figured out all His revelations...not yet! But it's there for us to ponder and ingest. The most important revelation is Jesus Christ!
sis. dee
God's word is given through them to us, it is "God-breathed." When we stray from Gods word it will leads us to sin and death.
Jewell
God's revelation to his apostles and prophets is our authority for faith and practice because it is God-breathed, given by His inspiration. Minimizing or straying from or superceding that revelation can lead us in numerous directions with no guidance but our own, which is usually self-centered. The danger of denying that God reveals himself to us and to his church would also tend to lead us to our own understanding, which is very limited. Joshua Ofosu Anim
The Bible says in 2 Peter 1.20-21 that " But know this first of all, no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God". The above verse clearly shows that God himself spoke to men (holy apostles and prophets) by revelation through his spirit therefore we can trust in such revelation or prophecy and act on them confidently. Straying away from such revelation results in disobedience straying away from the path God himself has chosen for us. The danger of denying that God reveals himself to us and to his church is that we lose the rhema word from God and personal encounters with God. Another danger is that we will be playing down on the POWER OF GOD confine him to only the written word. EVERY CHRISTIAN MUST KNOW THAT GOD IS STILL SPEAKING TO HIS CHILDREN TODAY. WE MUST BELIEVE AND ACCEPT PROPHECY FROM GOD. However such prophecy should be measured on the written word.
Lucy T
The reason why God's revelation to His holy apostles and prophets are our authority for faith is because it is God inspired or God-breath and the holy apostles and prophets was God's way of revealing Himself to us and the things that we need to know and understand. The bible says that the Word of God is good for wisdom, for teaching, rebuking, correction and training in righteousness; which is what we need to know and understand in order to live successfully in this life. The danager of straying away from this or minimizing the revelation that GOd has geiven us through His holy apostles and prophets is that it will lead into error; because only God's Word is truth. In addition, we can not learn faith except through the hearing of His Word.

What is the danger of minimizing or straying from that revelation? What is the danger of superceding that revelation? What is the danger of denying that God reveals himself to us and to his church today? this is the foundation of our belief, 1 john chapter1, that which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched, this we proclaim concerning the word of life.we believe their testimony about christ, that he is the cornerstone and their testimony laid the rest of the foundation. anything else added to this would make it impure, like mixing yeast in with the bread, the foundation would not be secure to build upon, it would fall apart. Beadie
This could lead us to sin or even lose our salvation by rejecting the true Christ. Again, if we supercede this revelation with something else, then we are straying away from what God
Suellen
God spoke the word into existence. He used mere people to relay His Word that people would see and believe. If we deny what God has revealed to those before us and thus in our own hearts than we are just floating in the wind.

wunway4u2
God's revelation of his holy prophets & apostles our authority for faith and practice. It's due because our creator spoke to and through these individuals. Through them he enlightened mankind with who we are and how we are to live. He selected these men and gave utterance and with prophecy and power demonstrated that his word is true. Trying to minimize or superceed is an act of rebellion and/or doubting God's word and his provision. Denying God in the church today is as bad as it everway. Denying he who made us, he who gives live, provision, that heat beat you just had, that one, that one and that one are all at HIS good pleasure. In him alone we are, in him alone do we exist, in him alone we live and die. In the shed blood of his son, his resurrection and atoning death for my sin on the cross I have eternal life and an inheritance that I cannot fanthom, one beyond my wildest dreams. The same goes for each and every one reading this. IF we confess our sins, ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and ask him to come into your life and be the Lord of your life. Then, you too can have forgiveness of your sins and life eternal. Thank him in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Vicki Higgins
God's revelation to "His holy apostles and prophets" is our authority for faith and practice because He reveals it to them and they teach it to us. The danger of minimizing or straying from that revelation is, at best we miss out on the full extent of the blessings He has for us, at worst we risk disappointing Him and the punishment that comes for sinning against Him. The danger of superceding that revelation is, according to Rev 22:18, becoming the personal recipient of all the plagues that are prophesied. The danger of denying that God reveals Himself to us and to His church today is, again, missing out on the abundant life He has planned for us and not receiving the instruction we need to follow His will. JanMary
Q1. (Ephesians 3:2-5) Why is God's revelation to "his holy apostles and prophets" our authority for faith and practice? It is because it was revealed by the Holy Spirit to the men who were assigned and chosen to set up the Church. It was not tainted by tradition, supposition, or any of man's ideas, but was God's mystery revealed. What is the danger of minimizing or straying from that revelation? Whenever we stray from Scripture, we introduce "pollution" which clouds God's Word. What is the danger of superceding that revelation? Superceding the revelation removes the authority of the Holy spirit's original teaching, and the new "prophecy" takes precedence, rather than being interpreted by the Holy Spirit's original standard. What is the danger of denying that God reveals himself to us and to his church today? If we do this, we cut off the ministry of the Holy spirit to His church. To deny His ministry, is throwing the baby out with the bath water, so to speak, and is dysfunctional and fear based. God reveals Himself today just as He did in the early church. He does so without contradicting any previous revelation given to the O.T. prophets and N.T. Apostles.

Sasquatch
Q1. (Ephesians 3:2-5) Why is God's revelation to "his holy apostles and prophets" our authority for faith and practice? All Scripture is "God-breathed" and inspired by the Holy Spirit. There is no higher authority. What is the danger of minimizing or straying from that revelation? What is the danger of superceding that revelation? The danger of straying from the divinely inspired Word of God places our decisions above God's purpose for our lives and places man above God. What is the danger of denying that God reveals himself to us and to his church today? Ephesians 3:7 "I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given me through the working of his power" which is written by Paul applies to all of us. Like Paul, none of us discovered God by ourselves. God was not our idea or something we figured out on our own. If we deny God's revelation of himself to us and to the church, the church becomes about man and not a dwelling place of Christ.

What is the danger of minimizing or straying from that revelation? What is the danger of superceding that revelation? What is the danger of denying that God reveals himself to us and to his church today? Why is God's Revelation to "his holy apostles an prophets" our authority for faith and practice? Becasue the apostles and prophets waled with Jesus and he taught them. Paul was favor by Christ and he gave him the management over the New covenant and the proper way to set up the church and reveal the mystery of Christ. (Cross) God want us to understand the Mystery of the Cross, as it was given to Paul. What is the danger of minimizing or straying from the revelation? We will be lost and in darkness and would not be one of the ones who God comes back for. We are to study the inspired scriptues from God that is his Holy Word and as God's people, we are not to deviate from it. What is the dnager of superceding that revelation? The danger is who will you be following, you cannot go ahead of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is the direction we should be going. The teaching would be nothing ut man's worldly junk; definitely not good for God's people. What is the danger of denying that God reveals himself to us and his church today? The danger of denying this is that you do not believe in God, the son and the Holy Spirit. Then the question becomes who or what to you believe? For as the church, what type of teaching would you be receiving if it not the work of God. When you learn the word, yoy will expierence knowing, believing, feeling, and seeing the results from the visitation of God himself.

Old Jerry
The reason that God’s revelation to “his holy apostles and prophets” our authority for faith and practice is because it is God’s word and it was revealed to the apostles and the prophets by God. The danger in minimizing or straying from that revelation is that we would not be worshiping God. We would be worshiping our idea of what God is like and how a person perceived what God would be doing. The danger of denying that God reveals himself to us and to the church today is that when we went to church would not be hearing the word of God. The preacher would be just spouting off about what he thinks.
gricha1
It's God who has created us and not we ourselves. As creator He has the right to establish the way to come to Him. In regard to inanimate object, humans have the ability to dissect, observe, analyze lesser beings to get to know them better. Concerning fellow human beings through communication we come to a better understanding of one another and know learn how best to approach one another. However, when it comes to God, a spirit, who is not does not have a material body, so is invisible, we first need to believe that He exists and furthermore need God to reveal Himself to us and to instruct us how to approach Him. The danger of minimizing or straying from God’s revelation, or superceding that revelation, or denying that God reveals himself to us is that we may not glorify Him as God, and end up worshipping birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Such will endure the wrath of God.
