Jonathan Edwards
To be filled with all the fulness of God is possible today as it was for St Paul, and as possible as the other things prayed for here and in Ephesians 1:17-19; John 14:12. Like Elisha we can pray for the double portion of the Holy Spirit. There are no limitations in getting things from God according to the promises (2Peter 1:4). We can believe for the Pentecostal outpouring in our lives. God wants to use us for his glory; we must be very circumspect about ",log jams" in our spiritual lives. Careful examens must be done frequently. Yes, I believe that the Confirmation ceremony has immense importance in the lives of a young man or woman. We need fresh "anointings" from on high: we are still human and prone to straying from disciplined Christain lifestyle. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is so necessary for so many today. We need the Holy Spirit to fulfill our callings in accordance with 1 Peter 2:9. God has predestinatinated us to be conformed to the image of Christ. This plentitude of the fulness of God--divine perfection is for us; Christ is the Brightness of God's glory. Our souls need to filled with the love of Christ. We who have renewed hearts have capacity to receive the things of God. We plunge into God's fulness and renewed by the Holy Spirit. Being strengthen in the inner man is referring to giving us graces to Spirit filled control of the inner man: manifestation of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Old Jerry
To be “filled with the Spirit” means that we are trying to be more like Jesus. This is a continual reality because if we don’t will start going back to our old ways. I think that being “filled with all the fullness of God” is the same as being filled with the Spirit. After all He is a triune God and this is just one part of Him.
