They will not see death but will be caught up together to meet the Lord in the air. At the return of Lord, while he is in the clouds, the trumphet will sound and all the saints will be gathered all though out the earth, the dead will rise up first and will be ressurrected, and then those who are still alive will be raptured and meet the Lord int the air and will live with the Lord forever with uncorruptible bodies, and then after these the judgment will come and judge the dead according to what they have done. " Rapture " Caught up or carrying away, when Christ returns all believers-- dead and alive-- will be united, never to suffer or die again. Because Jesus Christ came back to life, so will all believers, All Christians, including those living when Christ returns, will live with Christ forever. All believers throughtout history will stand reunited in God"s very presence. Christ will judge sin and set up His eternal kingdom. The day of the Lord will include both punishment and blessing. 1. Christ will return visibly, with a loud command. 2. There will be an unmistakable cry from an angel 3. There will be a trumpet fanfare such as has never been heard 4. Believers in Christ who are dead will rise from their graves. 5. Believers who are alive will be caught up in the clouds to meet Christ. The word is resurrection and that will take place at the return of theLord for His chosen ones who have kept the faith and chose to follow Him. It will happen before judgement for then we will stand before God to be judged for the works done in the body. It will come before the glory that God has in store for His elect in Christ. Immediately upon Christ's return, He will be seen in the clouds and the dead will be raised first. Then all still living will be caught up with them together and will meet the Lord in the air. At that time the judgement of all will take place - At the sound of the trumpet, all will be raised imperishable and will be changed n the twinkling of an eye. All will be raised living and dead but those who will believe will be given eternal life. The Great Gathering will separate believers from non-belivers ~~ but God's love will abound on all. First there will be the appearance of Christ in the heavens, Then the angel's trumpet will call to summon all God's people, And all of God's people will be gathered from the dead and alive ("the quick and the dead") including the Resurrection of those who are dead with the changing into their resurrection bodies of those alive at that time. It is the time when God changes our corruptible bodies into incorruptible and eternal bodies so we could with Christ for ever. The resurrection takes place after the trumpet sound (1Cor. 15:51-52). In relation to judgement, the dead will be raised to be judged by Christ whom God has appointed to judge the world. Finally, the elect of God shall be raised to live in Glory for ever. After Jesus appears in the heavens, the angel's trumpet call will summon all God's people. Then Christians will be gathered, both dead and alive with Him (Matt. 13:24-30; 37-43; 47-50; 25:31-46; 2 Thess. 2:1. Then the Great White Throne Judgment will take for the unbelievers (Rev 20:11-13). The words used instead of rapture are: caught up, gather, raised, gave up. When the Son of Man appear in the sky, coming on the clouds of the sky, at the sound of the trumpet call. The dead in Christ first, then us whom remain will meet the Lord in the air. Those who died in Christ before us will be judged first, then us. The rapture and the resurrection are just two different terms for the same event. Just before the rapture takes place, an angel's trumpet will sound, summoning all believers.Then the dead in Christ will be resurrected first, follow by those who are still living.Those who are alive at Christ's return will receive their glorifyed new bodies. Believers will appear before God in judgment at what is known as the "Bema Seat." This is not a judgment for sins since our sins were forgiven when we accepted Jesus as our Savior. Rather, it will be a judgment of our Christian service. The dead who did not accept Christ while alive will be resurrected at the end of millinium. The words used in place of 'rapture' are caught up, raised and resurection. The resurrection will take place right after the angel's trumpet sounds the coming of Christ. I am inclined to believe that the believers will be judged for their service on earth right after the rapture but some form of judgement would appear to occur at the time believers reach the presence of God right after their physical death in order to be assigned some form of service in Heaven. The English word rapture comes from the Latin verb meaning "caught up". When will the resurrection take place in relation to Christ's return? The Thessalonians thought that only those who were alive at the time of the coming of Christ would witness and share in the glory of it. All God's people who have died will be raised first and so go before the living to the gathering in the sky. In relation to judgment? The great white throne is not for the believer, not for those raised incorruptible, it is for the dead. We are no longer dead but alive in the Lord. In relation to glory? The believer will be at the marriage supper of the Lord. We will be judged according our works, our obedience to God, therefore, we will be rewarded accordingly. The best reward I could receive is to be forever with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (This is NOT the place to debate various theories of the rapture and the millennium.)
