iam4_1god
Q4. (Hebrews 4:12-13) What do these two verses have to do with what precedes them? How is the Word described? What effect does the Word have on us? Why do we need to continually expose ourselves to the Word of God? If we are not reading and studying the word of God every day, our actions, thoughts, intents will tell on us. We can hide nothing from God, and the word can be used to punish us when we try! If we are entering the rest, then we don't have to worry about condemnation. Cause if we aren't doing right, the word will cut us up! It does not take very long at all to start falling away! I know if I skip reading and/or praying one day, I will get spanked! The Father doesn't like lazy children!
blezed
Q4. (Hebrews 4:12-13) What do these two verses have to do with what precedes them? How is the Word described? What effect does the Word have on us? Why do we need to continually expose ourselves to the Word of God? 1) These two verses describes the seriousness of God's word. It tells us the word is the only way to true rest. 2) The Word is described as living and active, powerful and dangerous and it penetrates deep into you. 3) The effect the word has is it reveals who we are and what we are not. The Word discerns what is within us, both good and bad. We must take the Word seriously. 4) We need to continually expose ourselves to the Word of God because it helps to shape our life. jacquie7
The writer is giving a warning not to ignore salvation which is the Word of God. When we study and apply His Word, we can enter into His rest. His word is described as a razor-sharp, double edged sword that is powerful, dangerous, and sharp enough to cut through or pierce deep into one’s soul, spirit, joints, and bone. It is penetrating, and can divide the soul, judging thoughts and attitudes of the heart. It can discern what’s hidden bringing it to the light. We must continually feed on God’s Word so that He can continually wash and cleanse us with His Word. We must expose ourselves to Him daily through His word so that we can enter into His rest. Old Jerry
These two verses are warning us that if we don’t enter the rest that God has provided for us that the consequences will be devastating. The word is described as being all powerful and we had better take heed in what it is saying. The effect that the Word has on us is that we will want to do what God has asked us to do. That is the reason we need to continually expose ourselves to the Word of God so that we can stay close to Him and obey what the things that He wants us to do. lighthouse2014
Q4. (Hebrews 4:12-13) What do these two verses have to do with what precedes them? How is the Word described? What effect does the Word have on us? Why do we need to continually expose ourselves to the Word of God? What the verses Hebrews 4:12-13 have to do with the verse that precedes them is that in verse 11 is that we are to be diligent to enter into the rest of the Lord Today, lest any fall according to the same example of disobedience. The word of the God is described, by the author, as living and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, it is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. The effect this has on us is that there is nothing hidden from the sight of God, all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. We need to continually expose ourselves to the word of God, because if we do not we will fall back into a habit of neglecting his word and going back into the sinful world, where Satan and wickedness reign. We will definitely fall back into a world of unbelief.
Paula Price
The bible, is the word of God and it is his instructions to his church on how to live in order to be in his presences and to receive eternal life with him. It is described as being sharp and cuts both ways in that it can sooth and comfort you as well as chastise you when you sin and do wrong to bring you back to him. The word is filled with love to a people who chooses to believe and do the will of the one who made us. But also filled with fire and brimstone for those who do not believe and choose not to follow. We need to continue to expose ourselves to the word of God because he tells us to, for that is where we gain access to him, through his word. If we plant is word in our hearts and live by them we enter into his rest.
Godswriter
Q4. (Hebrews 4:12-13) What do these two verses have to do with what precedes them? How is the Word described? What effect does the Word have on us? Why do we need to continually expose ourselves to the Word of God? Through the Word we find our identity in Christ and how to live our lives and what to do in times of hardship. Sharper than any two edged sword and living and powerful cuts through bone and marrow as well as a discerner of the thoughts of the heart as well. Since without it we will surely sin,
royk
Q4. (Hebrews 4:12-13) What do these two verses have to do with what precedes them? How is the Word described? What effect does the Word have on us? Why do we need to continually expose ourselves to the Word of God? "Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience." (4:11) "12For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account." (4:12-13) Only sincere fervent prayer, reading the word, serving and sincere fellowship represent "making every effort to enter into His presence (rest). It is a glorious place, moment that connects us with our Creator, our LORD Jesus Christ. All glory to His name. He said/commanded in John 15 "... remain in me..." Thsi si for our own good, to help keep the faith in to one who loves and created us.

Continually meditating on God's word will save us from some sins, and from falling away. It will also remind us to repent and as is possible live in continual prayer and thanks giving to our LORD, for what He did for us while we were lost in sin. Dove81
Q4. (Hebrews 4:12-13) What do these two verses have to do with what precedes them? These two verse tell us what will happen if we don’t heed God’s word. The verses that preceded them spoke of God giving us rest and how those who wont enter his rest is because of their unbelief. They had other motives outside of God’s word. They didn't have faith therefore they couldn’t experience what God had for them. God knows all, hears all and see’s all. He knows if our hearts aren’t in the right place and if we have alterer motives. How is the Word described? Alive and active, sharper than any double edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing joints, bone and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. There is nothing like it and nothing in all creation is hidden from God. What effect does the Word have on us? It’s all powerful and change’s us for the better, while also exposing us. Telling our true motives and thoughts. Why do we need to continually expose ourselves to the Word of God? The only way to grow in your knowledge and understanding of God is by studying his word. It will change who you are for the better and give you hope and a reason to keep pushing forward even in all the chaos of this world.
