charisbarak
Redemption is the releasing of something for a price. Years ago, we had green stamps & blue chip stamps which we saved in little booklets and redeemed for a gift of some sort. The price of our redemption was the death of Jesus Christ on our behalf. Unlike the sacrifices in the OT, this is a once for all sacrifice--lasting FOREVER! PTL!

PATJOE
Q5. (Hebrews 9:11-12) What does "redemption" mean? What were we redeemed from? What was the price of our redemption? How long does our redemption last? Redemption in this case means the releasing of our existence from the bondages of sin and eternal death. We were redeemed from our slavery to sin and from the death of our souls because of sin. The price that was paid for our redemption was Christ's own blood - His loving sacrifice of His life for us. Our redemption was paid for once and for always by Jesus and will last us for the rest of our earthly lives. Jesus covered EVERY sin for us - even those we commit over and over again. This was the ultimate sacrifice for us and it will never be matched again.
masika
Redemption means, to buy back or to save from captivity by paying a ransom. One way to buy back a slve was to offer an equivalent or superior slave in exchange. That is the way God chose to buy us back from our slavery of sins- He offered His Son in Exchange for us. When Jesus came, He substitute His perfect life for our sinful lives, taking he penalty for sin that we deserve. Thus He redeemed us from the power of sin and restored us to God. We must recognize that if we want to be freed from the deadly consquances of our sins, a tremendous price must be paid. But we dont have to pay it. Christ, Our substitute, Has already redeemed us by His death on the cross. Our part is to trust Him and accept His gift of eternal life. Our sins have been paid for, and the way has been cleared for us to begin a realtionship with God.

s8nfighter
We were born with a relationship to God and lost that relationship through sin. God repurchased that relationship whith the blood of His Son and our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ. Can we walk away from that relationship? Yes. Will God walk away? NO, not ever. God's only will for our life is that we receive His Son and in doing so turn our backs on sin... and like the father, who's son spent his inheiritence, He will rejoice if we choose to come to Him and call Him my God. This is an eternal inheiritence we receive, after the heavens and earth pass away, a new heaven and a new earth will appear, and we will be a part of that new heaven and new earth. Rev. 21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. (NIV) Darrell

Helenmm
Q5. (Hebrews 9:11-12) What does "redemption" mean? What were we redeemed from? What was the price of our redemption? How long does our redemption last? "Redemption" is the price of an article once traded for money (or some other value such as birthright), which the purchaser wishes to reclaim. eg People occasionally sell their business and later buy it back, usually at much higher cost. We were originally traded for supposed status with God, the purchaser being satan. However, this trade meant that we died spiritually, leaving us open to evil suggestion and sin and bereft of the breath of life - the Holy Spirit. In order to recover our situation, man had to do business with satan. However, he had traded his power, so there had to be found a man who could step in on our behalf. That's why God sent Jesus in human flesh to trade on our behalf. His life was the price of our redemption. What satan didn't realise was that Jesus, who is the author of life, was able to lay down His life and take it up again, which He did. So the whole price was paid, but eternal life was not defeated. In fact, the whole price has been paid for all time and will never be repeated. Our redemption is eternal - for ever. There are no repeats! Dar
Q5. (Hebrews 9:11-12) What does "redemption" mean? Redemption is God's favor to mankind, found in Christ Jesus who died, paying the price required to ransom sinners. Our hope is in Christ Jesus. What were we redeemed from? The power sin has over us. Jesus has clothed us with His righteousness, how? Through our "faith" in Him. No one can boost of their good deeds, but we will be rewarded for them. God is the only one righteous, it is for this reason we give Him praise. Now that we have been filled with the Holy Spirit, power! we can live lives that please God. Just as Abraham's "faith" seen in his obedience to God, believing God when He spoke, God credited it to him as righteousness. What was the price of our redemption? How long does our redemption last? The price paid for our redemption was Christ's death and His resurrection, once for all who will follow after Him and His teaching.
