Q2. Seeking God Expectantly

Q2. (Hebrews 11:6) The first element of faith is belief in God's existence. Why is the second element just as essential to true faith?

Hebrews 11: says,

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

The second element of faith is to believe that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. This is essential because just mere belief that God exist is not the evidence of faith, as James puts it, "...the devils also believe, and tremble." Our faith says that when we seek God, we have the confidence that He will reward us. Whatever we are diligently seeking God for He will give us a reward which will come as the answer to our seeking.

What does it mean to "seek" God?

To "seek" God means to exert some effort to find out or learn something about Him. It means that we diligently read His Word, that we pray for understanding of His Word, that we stay in communication with Him.

What difference does it make whether or not you believe God will reward seekers?

Reward seekers, please God. If you do not believe that God will reward seekers, you will not seek him and you become like the unregenerated. Reward seekers have confidence that God will reward them.

Believing that God exists is only the begining; even the demons believe that much

( James 2:19-20 ) God will not settle for mere acknowledgement of His existence. H e wants a personal dynamic relationship with us that will transform our life. Those who seek God with all their heart and soul will find that they are rewarded with His intimate presence.

God assures us that all who honestly seek Him--- who act in faith on the knowledge of God that they possess--will be rewarded. and be dilgent in the serch of the truth in the word.

( Hebrews 11:6 ) With out Faith it is imposible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exist and that He rewards thos who earnestly seek Him.

The second element - knowing that He rewards those who seek Him - is important because if He would never respond to us, what would be the point? But He does! And we can experience this at any time in our lives that we come to Him. This is the beginning of relationship, which is what God is all about. Hallelujah!

To realise that the world could never just happen, but that it had a creator, raises the curiousity of diligent men to find out more. Proverbs says "it is for a man to seek out hidden things" and that is what God has put in us, so we'll seek him out. Abraham sought Him out and became the "friend of God". God was so delighted with him that He promised and gave him everything. If a man really wants to discover truth, he will, in Jesus. If he is half-hearted about it he probably won't, because God can't respond to off-handed games.

It makes all the difference whether you understand that God rewards seekers because it's no good going after something if there's going to be no hope of interaction. However, this is not true of our Father. He waits there for us to approach Him, and welcomes us warmly. This idea that you can't know God is the basis of agnosticism. It's a lie from satan himself to stop people searching Him out. They can agree that there might be a cause of creation out there, but they insist that you can't know or interact with Him. Therefore they won't try. How sad! Also, how arrogant to "know" this about God and thus shut Him out, and preclude all possibility of interaction! When you look at Christ, this situation becomes an impossible one to maintain for a person of integrity. Once you look at the historical facts surrounding Jesus there is no way you can maintain a stance that God does not interact with humanity. Therefore agnosticism has no integrity!

6.And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Becuse with out faith you would have no reason to believe that He in fact does exist and therefore no reason to seek Him out as you Lord and Saviour. We must first believe He exist in order to have faith.

Seeking God is a continual process of doing what He has commanded us to do. Love one another and keep His commandments. If we do all we can to live the life He has laid out for us then we will find Him and as we continue to draw closer by study and faith He will reward us with the strength to live the way we should and find Him in the end.

If you don't believe He rewards seekers then how can you say you have faith what is your faith based apon. P believe that God rewards those who digently seek Him not the one who say I believe then go and do it their own way. I athink as a true believer is't our struggle to remain in the faith by first seeking God and His rightousness and waiting as He sees fit to provide the other things He desires for us to have.

It is one thing to believe that God does exist. It is entirely another matter when we seek Him. When we are hungry for food, we know that food exists and if we eat, we will be satistfied. When we seek God, which is the second element of faith, we need to be filled with Him and all of His benefits. We desire to know Him, His character and nature, in order to be like Him and join Him in true fellowship. It is solely by seeking Him that we can be filled for if we do not we hunger and starve to death, spiritually.

1) The second element is just as essential, because when you have faith in God, you want to have a closer relationship with him. This relationship pleases God and shows him that you truly trust and have faith in him.

2) To "seek" God is to look to him for everything; to study his Word more; to pray constantly; and to know his ways.

3) It makes a difference when you will be rewarded, because it increases your faith whenever you are rewarded as you were promised in the Word.

The second element of "Believe that God rewards those who seek after Him" - to me is just as essential because it confirms that God is listening for us and hears every prayer -- the reward being His loving guidance into His righteousness. To seek God is to dwell on Him as the foundation of our lives. - to depend on Him to answer our prayers with His guidance - to learn how to relinquish our human nature "need to control" our own lives and turn everything over to Him. It also means to be continually thanking Him as we start to realize how lovingly attentive He is to our personal lives. Knowing God will reward seekers by drawing us closer to Him -- guiding us into His righteousness, is so important because that is the very road He puts us on - to the eventual destination of Eternal Life with Him. We are in a walk with Him. It is a reward just to have this privelege alone. All of this is such assurance of His love for us.

Believing that God exists is only the beginning; even the demons believe that much. God will not settle for mere acknowledgment of His existence. He wants our faith that leads to a personal, dynamic relationship.

Seeking God means to put God first in your life, to fill your thoughts with His desires, to take His charecter for your pattern, and to serve and obey Him in everything.

It makes big difference becuase says very clreally that God will reward those who truelly seek Him.

The 2nd is knowing God will reward those who seek Him.

To seek is to search & discover what you can about God in the Word. This would be a consuming desire to seek Him.

This is where a true relationship with God exists. Knowing the facts without action being taken is foolish & not rewarding!

The first element of faith is belief in God's existence. Why is the second element just as essential to true faith? What does it mean to "seek" God?

What difference does it make whether or not you believe God will reward seekers? I think the big difference whether you believe in the reward is when the reward comes. Noah's reward didn't come in the midst of mockery, but with the destruction of the world. God asked and Noah obeyed, in faith for 120 years he was obedient. He built an ark, informed the people of the short life expectancy, gathered animals, and waited upon the LORD. And then he recieved his reward.

When is our reward to come. Is it now with fancy meals and fine wine, fast cars and big houses, is it with large bank accounts and spendy clothes, or is it in heaven for eternity??? Jesus asks why do you chase after this (worry about) for you will be clothed and fed much better. But when??? And what are we to do with the short life expectancy?? Gather these things to praise God, or to share what we have and inform others about the coming of the LORD????

Jesus also says the person who seeks the reward for now will have used the reward for later!!!!

If you have the faith to believe and come to Christ, know that you have rewards coming. There would be no need to have faith if we were not looking or searching for something.

To really seek God means to diligently and earnestly exert all efforts to learn more about Him.

It doesn't matter whether you believe that God will reward seekers--- just know that He will because He said He would. He does not lie.

The second is an essential to true faith because this cements our relationship with the Father.

If we just beleived and not do anything else eventually our beleif will fade out but to be actively seeking Him for everything, not just our physical needs but also to keep ourselves in His will.

Seeking = is to find out, search more. Like any relationship we need to delve into knowing more about the God who loves us and bestows His grace and mercy on our lives.

God has promised that to us right through the Scriptures we just have to make sure we don't glorify the gifts/rewards and forget who is the One who gave the gifts/rewards.

Seek the giver not the gift.

As Hebrews 11:1 teaches, "... faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Faith defined in this verse is the basis for my seeking God and any reward He gives me as a result of that search. It is being sure that God will deliver on His promises that cause me to seek Him and obey His leadership and guidance in my life.

Faith must have an object, and the proper object of genuine faith is God. The degree of my certainity regarding rewards conferred upon me by God drives my pursuit of experiencing God. My faith is based on God's Holy Scripture and like Abraham and Noah, I believe what God says and follow-up on it trusting my God to act on His promises as He as always acted on His promises -- as recorded in His Word and by the testimony of others.

If I don't believe God will reward as He says, I will not seek Him out with any urgency, therefore nothing will happen in my relationship with God. However, if I believe God's promises, I will seek Him with expectation and urgency.

Q2. (Hebrews 11:6) The first element of faith is belief in God's existence. Why is the second element just as essential to true faith?

He rewards those who earnestly seek him, because when we seek Him with all of our heart, we will find Him. To get to know Him, we seek Him and His ways. To understand His character, we must seek Him out and find Him to know Him. We will not be left empty handed when we do so. He will reward us with His truth. .

What does it mean to "seek" God? Speak to Him, read about His plan and His last will and Testament to us, the Bible. If we do not read His will, how will we ever know what He has left for us?

What difference does it make whether or not you believe God will reward seekers? If we do not believe it, we would not seek Him. Why would anyone look for something if they didn

The second element is just as essential to true faith because it isn't enough just to believe in God. One needs to desire intimacy with Him on a personal level. It is important to desire a relationship with God and to be willing to please Him.

Part of faith is not being satisfied to know God only at a distance.

Seeking God means following Him with all your heart. It means not settling for a long distance relationship, but desiring a close, intimate fellowship.

It makes a difference whether or not God will reward seekers because He promises to reward those who diligently seek Him.

Rewards can come in many forms, not just wealth and material possesions. The Lord can reward those who seek Him with good health or with lots of friends or with a living family for instance.

Q2. (Hebrews 11:6) The first element of faith is belief in God's existence.

God does not begin Genesis trying to proove He is God, He begins with His creation.

Many don't believe in God because they don't see Him, the design of the world in its perfection should be enough to believe.

Rom 1:19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God himself has made it plain to them.

Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes-his eternal power and divine nature-have been understood and observed by what he made, so that people are without excuse.

After sin came into the world dominion that was given to man was no longer, Satan became ruler of the world, therefore we see the results, the world believed in many gods. Idolaty is what God hates, it does not please Him.

As Abraham looked at the world he thought there must be one God, Abraham went out to seek truth, he found God. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the God sitting on the throne. He is the one we must have faith to believe He exists. We must have faith in God (Yahweh) and that He made an everlasting covenant with Abraham and through this covenant the world would be blessed.

The world (Gentiles) would be blessed through faith in Christ Jesus, the Son of God who sits on the throne.

Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

I cannot think of a better reward than to find God and to be able to go directly to His throne room and to call God "daddy"

What does it mean to "seek" God?

God tells us if we seek Him we will find Him. Hebrews tells us to be diligent in seeking Him, that is to search out, investigate, carefully seek for the God Almighty to worship and give honor to.

What difference does it make whether or not you believe God will reward seekers?

If one does not believe God will reward seekers, I would say they do not have "faith" in action.

The second element was that we are to be real with God,approach Him with an open heart to believe that He does exist. It matters very much that we do believe in the faith that we have in God cause when there are non believers, they are only thinking of themselves and not about God at all so when we do really seek Him out then we are awarded.WE are awarded cause we are looking for Him in Spirit and in Truth, praying and searchin the Word for his answers then when we seek for Him and knock on the Door He will open it.Anyone who asks in faith will recieve the promises of God
