Godswriter
Psalm 2 teaches us that Jesus is the begotten Son of God. God placed Jesus on the throne and it is in Zion. The nations will become Jesus’ inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth will become His possession. It also speaks of His coming again. Because God was speaking to the Messiah about being begotten. Not only that the fact God could not have a son without someone being appointed for the job as his mother. When we don’t learn to submit to Him he becomes angry and can choose to discipline us like it says in the Psalm because we are His children. We need to realize that God is holy and He wants holiness and purity from us.
Lottie
Q1. (Psalm 2) What does Psalm 2 teach us about Yahweh's "anointed" king? Why do you think the apostles saw this passage as referring to Jesus the Messiah? What does the passage teach about the importance of submission to Jesus the Christ before it is too late? It tells us that He will rule the earth and that nations will rebel against Him. It tells us that He is God’s only Son and has a close relationship with Him. It tells us that it is referring to the Gentiles here and to how Herod and Pilate conspired together to have Jesus crucified. It tells us that God is giving Him authority over the nations to rule them. I think they believed the psalmist wrote beforehand about how Jesus would be tried unfairly by the Jewish leaders and Pilate. Because it is not talking about a Jewish king of Israel here but a king who would rule the world. It says that God laughs at the ones who want to get rid of their chains but He has put His king on Zion; not the people but God himself putting His only Son there. It teaches us that if we do not submit to Jesus and accept Him as Lord we will be destroyed in the end. He will give us our just rewards and judge everyone accordingly. We need to be ready when the trumpet sounds.

Rosesam
Q1. (Psalm 2) What does Psalm 2 teach us about Yahweh's "anointed" king? Why do you think the apostles saw this passage as referring to Jesus the Messiah? What does the passage teach about the importance of submission to Jesus the Christ before it is too late? This psalm teaches us that the “anointed” king appointed by Yahweh is His only begotten Son. The Father will give the Son the right to rule over all the nations and that they are given to Him as an inheritance and for His possession. He shall rule over them and those who are in rebellion to His rule will be judged. According to Davidic covenant the seed of David will rule over the throne of David forever. Jesus was the seed of David, anointed by the Father. In Judaism they thought that this psalm referred to David, but the psalm is not referring to an earthly monarch and the relationship between the Messiah and Yahweh is much closer than that of any king, even David. So the apostles saw this passage as referring to Jesus the Messiah. It is so important to submit to Jesus before the time of judgement comes. Now is the time of salvation, now is the time to call upon the Lord, else it would be too late to be saved.
