Rosesam
Q1. (Luke 1:31-34) What did the angel's announcement say about who Mary's Child was and who he was to become? The angel’s announcement to Mary was that she would conceive in her womb and bring forth a Son who will called Jesus. He would be great and shall be called the Son of the Highest and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David, and He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever and of His kingdom there shall be no end. God’s covenant with David will ultimately be fulfilled through Jesus in that He is the Son of David who will rule on the throne of David forever. Jason the Redeemed
The enormity of what is being communicated in these few verses is mind-blowing!! An Angel of the Lord is telling Mary that she is about to be pregnant with a Son. Take a moment to contemplate what this sounds like to those of us in 21st Century "logic world". A teen girl, having never had relations with her fiance, is going to give birth. CRAZY! After letting that sink in for a few minutes, take yet another step back and consider...that virgin birth is the FAR SMALLER IMPACT within the message Mary received. This baby that will come out in nine months or so, is due to be the KING OF KINGS, LORD OF LORDS, SON OF MAN, and will RULE FOREVER!! Holy smokes! The Messiah, prophesied since the time of Genesis, is on his way and this righteous young woman has the honor of bringing him to Earth. As if being told you're about to be insta-pregnant wasn't enough, just tack on that the newborn is going to be the greatest person that will have ever existed in the history of ever and always!
