Q1. (Luke 1:31-34) What did the angel's announcement say about who Mary's Child was and who he was to become?

Gabriel told her: Your Son will be great, eminent, Divine, the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His forefather David....He will reign over the house of Jacob throughout the ages, and of His reign there will be no end. He was saying that Mary was going to give birth to God, the second person of the Trinity....Who will live and reign eternally. Jesus means Savior.

Jesus is the fulfillment of Isaiah 9:6&7 For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from the latter time forth, even forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

I love that Mary was "chosen" by God....that she did nothing to earn His favor. Just as we are chosen, then may choose to be chosen as Mary did....simply for God's pleasure. I'm so glad she made that choice!

Q1. (Luke 1:31-34) What did the angel's announcement say about who Mary's Child was and who he was to become?

Gabriel says that Mary will bear 'the Son of the Highest' and 'the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David'. Thus, Mary will bear the son of God, a direct descendent of David, to whom God had promised an everlasting reign over Jeursalem.

Q1. (Luke 1:31-34) What did the angel's announcement say about who Mary's Child was and who he was to become?

Gabriel's announcement said Mary's child would be Son of the Most High...that His kingdom would endure forever.

What I love about this is that we who have been chosen of God are highly favored. We are also carrying the Spirit of the Most High...we are blessed as Mary was blessed...we will live eternally (kingdom enduring forever) ...

....and it is all in the choosing...His and ours.

The child will be a "great person" and his title will be "Son of the Most High."

One thought I had that although this happened to Mary in real like, it can also be seen as modelling the process of how Jesus comes into our lives. An angel came to Mary and told her that she had been chosen. And that the Holy Spirit would come upon her. Then a piece of God would begin to grow inside of her. Isn;t that the process we follow as we develop a relationship with Jesus?

Another thought I had was that Christmas isn't really about Jesus in so much in that is about our Father God's great love for us. The amazing part of Christmas is that "God so loved the world that He sent us His son." Don't get me wrong, Jesus is SOOO important too, but that's what we learn in Easter. The birthday celebration is more about our relationship with the Father than with the Son. That is so amazing to me, that it took me this long to figure it out. . .

Mary's child was to be the Son of the Most High - he was Divine and related to God. He was also to be MARY's child - and therefore to have a human lineage. This combination of Divine and human sets the wheels in motion for what he was to become - the Messiah, the only one capable of atoning for our sins and saving us. No wonder Mary was frightened!

Q1. (Luke 1:31-34) What did the angel's announcement say about who Mary's Child was and who he was to become?

His announcement said that Mary's Child was the Messiah, a Savior tat the world needs, not what the Jews expected. He would be truly great because He will be called the Son of the Highest, Son of God. He would rule the throne of David. His kingdom will be eternal, never ending. He is the Holy One.

Mary's Son would save the people from their sins. What could be better for us? His name will be Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us. No other religion has a living God who loves His children the way Jehovah God loves us. He sacrificed Himself so we could live with Him forever.

Q1. (Luke 1:31-34) What did the angel's announcement say about who Mary's Child was and who he was to become?

answer

B) The angel's announcement made it clear that Mary's child whoul be God's Son.

as the angle said" He will be the son of the most High." And when God revealed

Himself to Abraham , God called himself " The Most High God " therefore If Jesus was

the son of the Most High He was Son of the Most High God. Also before this the Angel

announced " He will become A great Person." That Mary's son would inherrit the throne

of His Father David so he would be counted among the Decendents of King David. and

also announced that Jesus's Kingdom would be forever , unending , eternal.

Q1 Mary, a virgin chosen by God to bear a son Jesus who is the incarnation of God

himself. He will be great, the King of kings since he is the descendant of David,

Israel's greatest king. He will be called "Son of the Most High" this shows Jesus

is divine, Lord of lords as Mary's spouse is the Holy Spirit. 'His kingdom will never

end' proclaims that our everlasting God's reign over mankind will be perpetual.

As the Son of man, Jesus will be given authority, glory and sovereign power; all

peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an

everlasting dominion that will not pass away. He is called 'Emmanuel,' God with us.

This baby was clearly identified as the divine Son of El-Elyon, the Most High God. Mary's son would be literally of God, not from God like every other. Jesus would be "great" - of highest position and importance. And the LORD God would establish Him on the throne of David, who was Israel's patriarch king that received God's promise of an everlasting reign through his offspring (2 Samuel 7:12-13). Jesus would be the fulfillment of that promise in an eternal reign over the house of Jacob with a kingdom that will never end.
