When Gabriel appeared to Mary he said the child will become a great person.  His title will be "Son of the Most High".  He will inherit "the throne of his father David" and "his kingdom will never end."

Q1. (Luke 1:31-34) What did the angel's announcement say about who Mary's Child was and who he was to become?

The child was a boy.  He must be named Jesus.

He would be great, given the title Son of the Most High, inherit the throne of His father David, and his kingdom would reign forever.

God Bless!

Jen

Mary was told she was going to have a baby. She said, "How can this be?" (like any virgin would wonder!) And it was explained that with God all things are possible. "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God."

He will be in the line of David (as the Messiah was to be), and His kingdom will have NO END!

(That is a pretty amazing announcement. Especially to a 16 year old girl Jewish girl, dreaming of her betrothed.)

Like pretty much all of the previous respondents have said

Mary would become pregnant

Her child would be a son

His name would be Jesus

He would be a great person

"Son of the Most High""

Inherit the throne of King David

His reign would never end

This passage is packed with so much meaning!

The angel announcement to Mary and who the child will be:

1. Mary will become pregnant.

2. Mary will give birth to a son.

3. The child must be given the name "Jesus,"

4. The child will become a great person

 5. His title will be "Son of the Most High."

6. He will inherit "the throne of his father David

7. Finally, "his kingdom will never end."

Mary was a young virgin between 12 and 13 years old, and apparently found favor with God. Mary's child, therefore, will be Jeus (orImmanaul) mad he will be fully God dwelling with us. He is the promised Mesiah, who will established God's kingdom eternally.

Gabriel told Mary she would have a son, despite being a virgin, the son of the Spirit.  His name would be Jesus and he would be the fulfillment  of prophecy and inherit the throne of David and his reign would never end.  Wow, that's quite an announcement!
