The Virgin Conception, Jesus being concieved of the Holy Spirit, means that He is wholly God. Pure and Undefiled. This is also in keeping with the fulfillment of scripture (Isaiah 7:14). It is also central in upholding the theology of the sovereignty of God throughout the entire Bible.

The virgin conception teachs us that Jesus is God, not human. Without the virgin conception, he wouldn't be God; therefore nullifying the entire message of the gospel.

Being miraculous it teaches us that He is miraculous! Jesus of course already existed as the Eternal word that was with God and was God (John 1, Phil 2 etc) we are talking about the word becoming flesh and we see something miraculous and mysterious. How did the 2nd Person of the Trinity, who was very God of very God become both fully God and fully man?- there is a mind twister! I think the doctrine of the virgin birth is important, without it how did Jesus come about? Without Him experiencing life as a human (He would have been just Divine without the virgin birth) how could He understand our plight? There are some wonderful passages in Hebrews that speak of Him becoming like us in every way-but without sin!

The nature of Jesus is of a devine nature and being born of a virgin means that he does not have the sin of Adam or of the sin nature pass by man seed.

This is very important because then if Jesus was born of mans seed then how could he be the lamb of God with out spot or blemish?

The doctrine of virgin conception is the cornerstone of the Christian message because if He had not been of God He would have been born of sin, not into sin, making Him fully human just as any man is, therefore come resurrection day the tomb would have still held the body of a mere man.

The virgin conception shows us that Jesus is God! He is conceived by supernatural means and is a divine being. It teaches us and shows us that Jesus is the Lord, the one true Son of God, and fulfills the prophecies of the old testament.

The virgin conception is central to the Christian message because of the fac that Jesus is the Son of God. Because Mary was a virgin we can't dispute the supernatural power of Jesus' conception. It is the point that shows us who Jesus is - He is Lord! Also by Jesus being born of a virgin scripture is fulfilled which shows us that the Word is a true account.

This point is one of the most crucial points in the Christian message, along with saved by famith through grace, and the resurrection. I consider these the three most important things for a Christian to understand.

I was saddened to read the results of a survey once that led me to believe that ALL Christians do not believe in the Virgin Birth. For me, this miracle has to be at the very core of my faith. Jesus is the Son of God. That means he could not have been conceived by the human sexual act as the rest of us were.

1. The virgin conception teaches me that Jesus is Holy and came about by a divine miracle. It also proves to me that there is nothing too hard for God. He can do the impossible.

Jesus is not human - He is of the same substance as God Father - he is SOn of God; the other miracle is that such a Son is the offspring of Mary the human and God.

This doctrine of being of the same substance as Father is so important that Credo of our faith was changed in its expression at Nicene to stres it more - it is the same nature, same substance, same essence, not just conceived by God nd born of Mary.

The virgin conception teaches us that our God is a God of miracles and He will do ANYTHING to rescue fallen humanity! If this had not happened the Christian message would be empty just like all the false religions of the world.

Nothing is impossible with God and Jesus is a divine and Holy being born to human,therefore he has the nature of God and Man. It is essential that we believe that God sent his Son to be born of a virgin in order for us to be born again.

The virgin birth illustrates to us that Jesus is wholey devine and devinely holy. By His Immaculate Conception and incarnation we have the basis of our faith, confirmed by His word with signs following.
