UncleBlake
Q4. (Luke 2:11) What are the three titles of Jesus given by the angels? What does each mean? What does this tell us about Jesus' true identity? The titles given Jesus by the Angel were Saviour, Christ the Lord. Saviour-the deliverer, the Messiah, the long awaited one who will deliver all from the bondage of the slavery of Sin. Christ-the Greek word for annointed (the Annointed One) the Lord- from kuros (supremacy); supreme in authority, i.e. (as noun) controller; by implication Mr. (as a respectful title) :- God, Lord, master, Sir. Dar
Q4. (Luke 2:11) What are the three titles of Jesus given by the angels? What does each mean? Savior (soter) one who rescues, savior, deliverer, preserver Christ (christos) anointed, Hebrew mashiah, Messiah Lord owner, master, Yahweh. What does this tell us about Jesus' true identity? Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the promised One of Israel. The Savior Yahweh promised He would send, has come. Christ the Lord is born. Yahweh has sent His Son, the Savior to the world, He will rescue and rule Israel when He comes back the second time. The Christ child is the promise of God to all who delight in, and are looking forward to His coming again, and to the day He will rule God's Kingdom - As we read in Micah 5. love.serve.know
The angel brought good news. The angel proclaimed the message of salvation. When Christ was on the earth He also proclaimed the message of salvation and was the means of salvation. Christ is the savior - the person who rescues someone - in this case all of fallen humanity that accept His free gift. Christ is the Lord - the owner, lord, master,. He was the savior and He came to die for mankind and also to tell people the good news that His death would save us from our sins. He rose - our redeemer lives! JustJeff
The three titles given to Jesus by the angels announcing His birth are: Savior = Deliverer, Christ = Anointed, Lord = Master. As our Savior Jesus saves us from our sin, the Anointed One has been chosen by God for this purpose and the Lord is our Master, at who's feet we sit at to teach us and guide us home. In the name Jesus alone, which is Yeshua, which is Yahweh saves, we find God Himself, further defined by the three names above.
masika
Q4. (Luke 2:11) What are the three titles of Jesus given by the angels? What does each mean? What does this tell us about Jesus' true identity? The titles that the angels gave are, Savior, Lord, and Messiah. Jesus is savior meaning that He is the one that saves or savior of the world. Jesus died on the cross to redeem all people, He opened the way to everlasting salvation by His obedience and death. Jesus is Lord because He is possessing supreme power and authority over everything in this world. Jesus is Messiah because He was to deliver His people from the bondage of sin. Jesus came as truly human and God, so He had power to do anything to His people.
Craig
Q4. (Luke 2:11) What are the three titles of Jesus given by the angels? What does each mean? What does this tell us about Jesus' true identity? This baby was a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Here we have a theology in miniature. First, He is Savior, which is expressed in His name Jesus. Then He is Christ, the Anointed of God, the Messiah of Israel. Finally, He is the Lord, God manifest in the flesh.

Lisa Rupert
Q4. (Luke 2:11) What are the three titles of Jesus given by the angels? What does each mean? What does this tell us about Jesus' true identity? The titles of Jesus given by the angels are; Messiah Christ the Lord, the owner, Lord over all or master, Yehweh which means divinity or divine, royal, holy, and Savior, the one who saves or rescues. "The angel brought good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.'" (2:10-11) He was also connected to David by ancestory, this prophesy was from ancient times 730 years before by the prophet Micah, fullfilling this prophecy that the Jews have longed for. "And this Savior will bring both salvation from enemies and from sin -- but not just to the Jews but also to the Gentiles -- all people!" What does this tell us about Jesus' true identity? Lk 2:11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. Savior (which ties in with the name Jesus-and the Angles declaration because He will save His people from their sins) Christ- which speaks of the promised Messiah Lord- which can speak of someone important, a title of power i.e. it corresponds with slave/servant and/or can speak of God Holy Name Yahweh These three titles together paint the picture of someone very special, someone greater than the world had ever seen, someone pre existent, someone Divine! ljc
About three titles..............I see two given in the scripture. Jesus would be our Savior and he would be Christ the Lord. We understand already that he is from the line of David as told in the Old Testament He will save the souls of both Jews and Gentiles as also told prior to now. Christ the Lord...............might be showing he is part of the Trinity. Holy Spirit, Jesus, and God. Jesus is the baby that holds the key to our destiny.
