Q2. May Your Kingdom Come

Recommended Posts

The Father's kingdom is the heavenly realm. It is an all encompassing aspect of perfection. It is more than the human brain can comprehend. We want God to be able to shine throughout the whole world. We want His love to permiate every heart. We want to have a peace that flows freely through everything on this planet. To achieve this goal, we personally must take responsibility for all of our thoughts, feeling and actions. We must be the change that we desire in this world. We need to set the example of what it is like to live in love with of all life. We need to respect all aspects of this world in order to show others how to live.

The sense that we are asking that the Father’s kingdom should come is when we accepted Jesus Christ as our savior. When we have been saved then the kingdom has come to us here on earth but that is nothing like the one we will receive when Jesus returns. This prayer should affect our lives so that we will live as if the kingdom has been put down here on earth. That way we will be trying to be doing the things that God wants us to be doing.

Q2. (Matthew 6:10) In what sense are we asking that the Father's kingdom should come? Why are we asking for the Father's will to be done here on earth? How should this prayer affect our living?

That the Lord should come back to establish his Kingdom on earth.

That his will, the things that need to be done on earth as it is in heaven so the Lord will come back, there are things that need to be established here on earth before Jesus returns.

I believe that we should always be praying and waiting for the Lord's return.

2.1 In what sense are we asking that the Father's Kingdom should come?

We are asking that Jesus come into our lives in the here and now and finally also His soon return physically to take over and rule and reign as Lord and King

2.2 Why are we asking for the Father's will to be done here on Earth?

We want God's perfect will to be done even here while we are on earth.

2.3 How should this prayer affect our living?

We should live Christ-filled lives, serving God with all that we have and in all that we do.

Q2. (Matthew 6:10) In what sense are we asking that the Father's kingdom should come? Why are we asking for the Father's will to be done here on earth? How should this prayer affect our living?

We are asking the Father's Kingdom to come in the full sense.  We've read the end of the book, we know what we ask, and we ask.  Jesus told us He would come back (through two men dressed in white in Acts 1:11) , and we know He will.  We are asking the Father's will to be done here because we know that heaven is a place of no sickness or pain.  (Isaiah 65) Jesus had compassion on people and if we are His disciples, we have that compassion, too. (ex. Matthew 9, 14, 15, 20) We do not want to see anyone suffering--so we pray His will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven.  This prayer should affect our living in a constant reminder to keep our eyes on Him, on His Kingdom.  I'm reminded of Stephen in Acts--though his earth situation was deplorable, He SAW Jesus. Acts 7:56
