Q4. Coming Under Christ's Headship

Recommended Posts

When we are baptized.

We must accept Christ as ruler of our lives. Believe that Christ died for our sin, was crucified, died and was buried but rose three days later just as He said He would and is now at the right hand of The Father interceding for each of us.

When we turn our lives around and stop sinning, we try to live godly lives. Put on the new and off with the old, not doing the things we use to do. Having a conscience that lets us know when we are sinning. Show the Love of Christ to all you come in contact with...

Romans 6:2-5...When Jesus Christ died on the cross, this is where we moved to the headship of Christ.

We must ask forgiveness of our sins, choosing Jesus as our Master. We can be certain that sins power is broken. We are united with him in his death and resurection.Jesus died,we died,Jesus gave us life, eternal life. This is beyond amazement(our understanding)We now can stand with God,in a relationship of such love, grace, mercy.

When we were buried by baptism into Jesus Christ and rose again in newness of life.

We are powerless to do anything to bring it about, Christ did it all on the cross. Now what we must do is look to the cross and Jesus will become our head.

The implications are we are dead to sin, our lives should be transformed into a new one by the grace of God, to live for Him and not serve sin.

Q4. (Romans 6:2-5) According to this passage, at what point do we move from being under the headship of Adam to the headship of Christ? Is there anything we must do to bring about this change in headship? What are the implications of us having died with Christ?

We move from being under the headship of Adam to being under the Headship of Christ when we dmit that we are sinners and that we believe in Christs

death on the cross and reserrection being for me/us. and this is at the time of our salvation.

Besides having faith in the fact that Jesus died for us we have to do nothing else but believe in faith.

The implications of having died with christ are that we are in Christ, unnder his headship. so we will also rise with him to heaven.we are part of his

body, which is the christian family.

We move from being under the headship of Adam to the headship of Christ when we ask him for forgiveness of our sins and make him the Lord of our lives. To bring about this change, our hearts will be made new, the love for the Lord will keep us from wanting to go back to our old selfs. Leave the past behind, walk in the newness that Christ has given us. Walk in the fellowship that we can have with the one that loves us more than we love ourselves. Having died with Christ, we will have Christ like minds, we will have His love in us, we will want to share His love with others, we will be an entirely different person.

WE MOVED FROM BEING UNDER THE HEADSHIP OF ADAM TO THE HEADSHIP OF CHRIST,WHEN GOD IN HIS LOVE FOR HUMAN KIND SEND JESUS HIS ONLY SON TO DIED ON CALVARY CROSS,FOR THE SINS OF THIS WORLD. WHEN CHRIST WENT ON THE CROSS EVERYTHING CHANGE FOR MANKIND,WE WERE NOW REDEEMED. CHRIST NOW BECOMES OUR HEADSHIP. TO BRING ABOUT THIS CHANGE, IN HEADSHIP WE MUST ACCEPT JESUS AS OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR SHOW THE WORLD THAT WE ARE HIS DISCIPLES BY BATIZING AND SHOWING THE WORLD THAT WE FOLLW JESUS CHRIST. THE IMPLICATION OF US HAVING DIED WITH CHRIST IS THAT WE BECOME APART OF CHRIST, WE ARE NOW JOIN HEIR WITH HIM WE HAVE A CHANCE TO SPEND ETERNITY WITH CHRIST.

Q4. (Romans 6:2-5) According to this passage, at what point do we move from being under the headship of Adam to the headship of Christ? Is there anything we must do to bring about this change in headship? What are the implications of us having died with Christ?

1. When we die with Christ. When we are baptized in Him and when as we by our spiritual death are resurrected through Him. We move from death to live only through the remission of our sins and the redemption from the spiritual death Adam caused. We may be seen as any man (women) to the natural eye, but we are seen by our Heavenly Father and our Lord as Christ Himself.

2. Repent and turn from our sins and wicked ways. We must submit and emerse ourself to the love of God and to the ways of His laws. If we could look into a mirror and see ourself the way God sees us, how we would either rejoice at the beauty we see or how we would scream out at the ugly and horror way sin has made us to Him.

3. God can not see us except through Christ His Son. So, if He knew us before we were ever born then He knows we exist. When He looks for us as He looked for Adam in the garden and He does not hear us answer when He calls out then He knows we have not accepted His way of redemption to living with Him for ever and we have rejected His Son.

This passage seems to that that at the time of baptism we move from being buried with Adam to being risen with Christ. As RickJW said so well

The physical act of baptism is symbolic of our having accepted Christ as our saviour, although it could also be thought of as a consummation of our being united with Christ.

To bring this about, we have to identify ourselves with Christ by faith. If we are dead to sin we are no longer bound to live slave to sin. We are free to live for Him!

Q4. (Romans 6:2-5) According to this passage, at what point do we move from being under the headship of Adam to the headship of Christ? Is there anything we must do to bring about this change in headship? What are the implications of us having died with Christ?

When Jesus died for us he defeated death giving us over to his headship. We declared this by our baptism.

We bring about the change by acknowledging that Christ came to earth was crucified and was risen from the grave. We also need to ask him to forgive our sins and ask him to be our Savior. This brings the change.

Him having died for us freed us from sin and gave us eternal life with him in Heaven.

When we accept and when we confess Christ to be our savior and Lord it is the time we put headship to us.

we've to put always our trust in Him - putting our trust in Christ recognizing Him as our head.

Q4. (Romans 6:2-5) According to this passage, at what point do we move from being under the headship of Adam to the headship of Christ?

When we become one with Jesus in sharing His death and resurrection, through being reborn at salvation and receiving eternal life.

Is there anything we must do to bring about this change in headship?

Yes, we do this through a conscious decision and choice, in entering into Covenant with Him,through surrendering our life and will to Him. Rom. 10:9 & 10 tell us that we must confess Him as Lord and Savior with our mouths, which confirms our salvation.

What are the implications of us having died with Christ?

We were buried with Him through the baptism into death, and therefore raised with Him from the dead to newness of life. We left our old flesh-life nailed to the cross, and are no longer slaves to sin. The old JanMary is dead, and my flesh is daily crucified that He might live His life through me to the glory of the Father.

Before I knew Jesus and accepted Him as my Saviour, I was under the headship of Adam. I was dead spiritually and living purely as a human.

Once I knew Jesus, how He died for me and accepted Him as Lord and Saviour, I moved from the headship of Adam to the headship of Jesus.

The change of headship is a gift of grace freely given by all who accept Jesus as Saviour.

Having been baptised and died with Christ, I have ceased to allow sin to have control over me and am now living for Jesus.

Yes, we must make a conscious decision and speak it out loud, confess that we are sinners who repent and ask forgiveness for all our sins.

Having died with Jesus means that we are now new creations, for we have also risen with Him. We now can live (with God's help) a righteous life, becoming more like Jesus every day.

Upon accepting Jesus as the Messiah, thus being made right with God -- then subsequently being baptized to identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are united with Jesus and Jesus takes the position of headship in our lives.

Having died with Jesus, we are also raised with Jesus. Having died with Jesus on the cross, we are set free from being slaves to sin.

We move from being under the headship of Adam to the headship of Christ when we accept Christ as our Savior and are baptised into His death, burial, and resurrection.

The only thing we need to do to bring about this change is to accept by faith that Christ died for our sins on the cross and accept Him as our Savior.

Q4. (Romans 6:2-5) According to this passage, at what point do we move from being under the headship of Adam to the headship of Christ? Is there anything we must do to bring about this change in headship? What are the implications of us having died with Christ?

When we take baptism, we take identity in Christ. We identify with His death and Life. We renounce our old life. It is dead to us. We live and breathe life in Jesus Christ. We do things His way now. We live for Him as a a bride lives for her groom, no longer with her family, but as one flesh with her husband, carrying his name, driving his car etc. Her husband, not her father, is now her head. So is Christ to us.

We have to co-operate with this new status just as a bride co-operates with her new husband. She can't return home to mummy and daddy. Her life is brand new and has to be built from scratch. It's almost like baptism is the betrothal process and everything else leads up to the wedding!

Having died with Christ means we understand His death because of our sin, and choose the same path. abhorring any sin which appears in us and turning from it to His purity and holiness, desiring Him, not our own old life. Implications may mean we dissociate with certain old friends and associates in order to more completely unite with Him and represent Him in the world. It means we depart from certain old habits that do not honour Him and acquire new ones which will expand our parameters in the new life. It means our time is spent differently, studying to understand the things He teaches, and spending time in the Spirit - His gift to us that we may become new creatures. It means our attitudes towards other people change, becoming less dependent on their approval and more dependent on His. It means we have a new concept of love, first for our King Jesus, and then for fellow men. This concept involves truth, because it is truth that sets us free.

We are in the headship of Christ as soon as we accept him as our Savior. When we die with Christ we live in Christ.
