l.a.
I confess, I didn't count the references but truly was warmed in my spirit at pickadilly's response. It is hard to believe that we are given the opportunity to be adopted by the living God and joint heirs with Christ. I am looking forward to the day Christ turns our swords to plow shares to care for the great garden of God.
Sasquatch
Q1. In Romans 8:14-21, 28, how many times is the idea of being sons and daughters of God alluded to? What are the promises made to these sons and daughters? What do we learn about our future and our role in the future of all creation? The idea of being the sons and daughters is alluded to many times. The promise is that we have been adopted as full sons and daughters of God. We are full heirs; we have full status in the family; we are seated in the heavenly realm. What Christ who is our brother inherits, we inherit as well. "If indeed, we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory." This comes at the resurrection of our bodies when Christ returns. Patricia A
Q1. In Romans 8:14-21, 28, how many times is the idea of being sons and daughters of God alluded to? 14 Those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs -- heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. 18 "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will. 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:14-28) What are the promises made to these sons and daughters? We received the Spirit of Sonship as we are God's children. There will be redemption of the body for God's children. The Spirit will intercede for us when we do not know how to pray. All things will work for the good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose. [/color] What do we learn about our future and our role in the future of all creation? We know that all things will turn out good for those who love God and are called according to His purposes. What are the promises made to these sons and daughters? What do we learn about our future and our role in the future of all creation? Rom 8:14 Certainly, all who are guided by God's Spirit are God's children. Rom 8:15 You haven't received the spirit of slaves that leads you into fear again. Instead, you have received the spirit of God's adopted children by which we call out, "Abba! Father!" Rom 8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Rom 8:17 If we are his children, we are also God's heirs. If we share in Christ's suffering in order to share his glory, we are heirs together with him. Rom 8:18 I consider our present sufferings insignificant compared to the glory that will soon be revealed to us. Rom 8:19 All creation is eagerly waiting for God to reveal who his children are. Rom 8:20 Creation was subjected to frustration but not by its own choice. The one who subjected it to frustration did so in the hope Rom 8:21 that it would also be set free from slavery to decay in order to share the glorious freedom that the children of God will have. Rom 8:28 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God-those whom he has called according to his plan. The amount of times that I read about us being sons of god is about nine times. The promises he made are: 1) The creation will be liberated from decay. 2) We have the first fruits of the Spirit. 3) The redemptions of our bodies. 4) He helps us in our weakness. 5) He intercedes for us. 6) God works for the good of those who love him who have been called to his purpose. We will be with God and Jesus in Heaven.

Vaiden Rochelle
Q1. In Romans 8:14-21, 28, how many times is the idea of being sons and daughters of God alluded to? What are the promises made to these sons and daughters? What do we learn about our future and our role in the future of all creation? In Romans 8:14-21,28, I counted six times where we are alluded to being sons and daughters of God. In verse 29 there is one more. I'm reading the Living Bible Paraphrased text. God promises that since we are His children, we will share in His treasures. Now, if we are going to share His glory, we must also share in His suffering. After we, the sons and daughters of God, are resurrected, He will also give us new bodies that will never be sick again and will never die. He also through the Holy Spirit helps us with our daily problems and in our praying. Also, according to verse 28, we have the promise that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into His plans. In Romans 8:14-21, 28 we learn that God will resurrect His children, sin, death, and decay will all disappear, and we will enjoy life without sin. taray
Q1. In Romans 8:14-21, 28, how many times is the idea of being sons and daughters of God alluded to? What are the promises made to these sons and daughters? What do we learn about our future and our role in the future of all creation? This idea of sonship and daughtership of God permeates through out this section, in the words and images of "adoption", "heirs", "pains of childbirth". The promise is co-inheritence with Christ the kingdom of God, the liberation from "bondage to decay and brought to the glorious freedom of the children of God". We are given great hope for this promised inheritance, "if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory". Let us not lose heart, then, but be steadfast in our faith, and await patiently for our birth as sons and daughters of God to come. Paul says in Galatians 6:9, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Rom 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the coming glory to be revealed in us. Rom 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God. Rom 8:20 For the creation was not willingly subjected to vanity, but because of Him who subjected it on hope Rom 8:21 that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
