ljmnkscart
Seven times at least, numerous times it is mentioned that saved Christians are children of God. We are promised to share Christ's Glory with Him; the creation will be freed from death and decay. We learn that God will cause all things to work together for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. We learn that we are groaning and waiting patiently for the time when God's glory will be revealed in the sons of God. I think we will help set things back in order the way that Christ created things in the beginning.

What are the promises made to these sons and daughters? What do we learn about our future and our role in the future of all creation? I really like it, though my walk is talking me slowly to the truth of my sin and that I can't possibly "change myself" God is just and has given me all the motivations I need to slow down, and let Him lead me through life. Its not easy, but there is no turning back; God's love is so good, what he gives us is too sweet to refuse, though it is not the easy way. Only He can take us to really being his sons and daughters. Where we are going is real luck to be in His family.

What are the promises made to these sons and daughters? What do we learn about our future and our role in the future of all creation? A1. I counted at least 7, hitch is the number of completion and maybe one more. A2. Inheritance, kinsmanship, firstfruits of the spirit, adoption, first born, redemption A3. 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. 14 "Those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 "For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs -- heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory." (8:14-17) Dear friend, you are neither peon nor a nobody. You are a full son of God, a full daughter of God. All God possesses is yours. You are a child of the King of All. lighthouse2014
Q1. In Romans 8:14-21, 28, how many times is the idea of being sons and daughters of God alluded to? What are the promises made to these sons and daughters? What do we learn about our future and our role in the future of all creation? There is approximately 10 to 11 times that we are mentioned in Rom. 8: 14-28 as to ideas of our being adopted sons and daughters of God and co-heirs with Christ. The promises that are made to us as sons and daughters of God is the spirit of adoption; His spirit testifies with our spirit and assist us with our prayers; being set free from the bondage of sin; await the redemption of our bodies; and we are called to the design and purpose of God, in this we have our hope. Because of sin in the world all creation has suffered also, creation groans for the redemption of the children of God, that all things will be restored back to the glory of God. WinstonY
Q1. In Romans 8:14-21, 28, how many times is the idea of being sons and daughters of God alluded to? What are the promises made to these sons and daughters? What do we learn about our future and our role in the future of all creation?  The idea of being sons and daughters of God, heirs, is alluded to eight times. Firstly we have a wonderful relationship with God the father where we are able to refer to him as did Jesus- "Abba, Father". Secondly, as heirs we inherit the kingdom of God. We are not just anyone in relationship but we are co-heirs with Christ. The thought is humbling-that we are in the same relation to God as is jesus, our co-heir of God. Thirdly we share in the glory. This is a wonderful promise for the ordinary citizen of the world who live in the world in a degree of squalor- our existence here is all relative for this present body is somewhat limited. Our resurrection includes the transformation of our body to a new and glorious creation, a new creation in God-a new personality  which is liberated from all disease, frailty, pain, decay and death a transfiguration if you will. There will be a new correspondence between message and medium. The resurrected body will be a perfect vehicle for our redeemed personality.(J W Stott, The Message of Romans , 227)  In God's New Creation in the Day of the Lord, a time when the wolf will lie down with the lamb, a time when all the trees will clap their hands we, as the heirs of God will have full participation in the serving of the new community of the new creation. We will be first and as the first we shall be last and we will have the privilege  to serve in the New Creation.
Uncle Dave
Q1. In Romans 8:14-21, 28, how many times is the idea of being sons and daughters of God alluded to? What are the promises made to these sons and daughters? What do we learn about our future and our role in the future of all creation? 1.     How many times is the idea of being sons and daughters of God alluded to?            My count of 10 is likely disputable (+-), but what I came up with for now. 1.     8:14 are the children of God. 2.     8:15 adoption to sonship. 3.     And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." 4.     8:16 we are God's children. 5.     Rom 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs— 6.     heirs of God 7.     and co-heirs with Christ, 8.     8:19 children of God 9.     18:21 and glory of the children of God. 10. 8:28 who have been called according to his purpose. 2.     What are the promises made to these sons and daughters?   We have the promise of eternal life and being co-heirs with Christ, who is heir to everything God owns. 3.     What do we learn about our future and our role in the future of all creation? I’m not 100% clear on this one but after reading various Bible versions of the verses in question, it appears to me that we would be taking part in the liberation of creation. We will be with Christ, who will dwell with His people forever.
Lottie
In Romans 8:14-21 and verse 28 the idea of us being sons and daughters is alluded to at least 6 times. We become heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. Whatever He receives we also receive once we get to heaven. That one day this earthly body will become like His and we will no longer suffer anymore. Because we will be like Him. It is far better than what we have here. For one day we will share in His glory. One day we will reign with HIm. Â

Krissi
Being a child of God is an amazing promise, one not yet fully fulfilled but to-be-fulfilled in the future. In the interim, we suffer. I think that's the point of the passage, that in this life, we're expected to suffer with Christ, as that is part of what it means to be in God's family. So, our near-future is one of suffering; our far-future is one of being in heaven.
