Q5. Experiencing the Glory of God

Recommended Posts

Q5. (Romans 8:18-25) In what sense do we expect to experience God's glory when Christ comes? How will the suffering creation experience God's glory? How will our mortal bodies experience God's glory? In what way will our spirits experience God's glory?

We pray for Him to come soon, through us. That makes us part of the "Revelation" when we are more and more transparent. We wait on the one hand and we let His will be done in us each day, each moment, if we can "remain in Him, and let His will work through us..."

He said, "live life to the full... " some of it is painful to learn to be more patient. Then there are moments of solitude when it all seems so easy. How can we try to imagine what it will be like? We are ignorant dirty rags, blessed by the Grace and love of God. We owe every breath to Him. Let us serve in the moment or study the word, or pray. Let the rest take a lesser place. Let us seek higher ground, knowing as humans there is more to walk and we're always going to be sinners, not like Him. Praise God for His Grace and Love.

When Christ comes his glory will be manifested so much that it will transform us and the creation itself will be transformed, because the curse will be lifted. I believe our mortal bodies will be transformed in to immortal bodies like Christ's. The glory will flow through us and our spirits.

We will come face to face with perfection. I believe that we too will shine and reflect His glory. The suffering creation will at last be free and perfect again. Our mortal bodies will be changed in the twinkling of an eye, with no more pain or sorrow. Our spirits will soar!

We will experience God's glory when Christ comes because we have faith and hope in His promise of the resurrection of our new bodies and the new creation of the earth, returning to it"s original condition as it was when He first created it before man's fall from the grace of God. We will witness His revealed glory, we will finally see Him as He is, it will be the Great Day of the Lord.

All of creation will rejoice, the son's and daughter"s of the Lord will be revealed, the earth, the creatures and animals will all be redeemed from the curse it was under our bodies recreated and our spirit will be united with the spirit of God Himself. We will give Him glory and exaltation as never before and nor has been since the beginning of time.

It seems as if Paul speaks of two occasions when Christ will come for us. One is that time of which Paul speaks  in Philippians 1:21-24. Here Paul is speaking of his passing from this life to be with Christ. Surely he would not long to depart and and be with Christ unless Paul saw an more or less immediate being in Christ. Actually it would only be a shift from the present living with Christ to a dying in Christ. We have a sample of the living with Christ as we die for we have the Holy Spirit as a downpayment of that future day of the Lord when jesus romes for us as he did foe Stephen. The other coming than is that great and glorious day when Christ shall come with the voice of the archangel and the blast of trumpets. On that day all of creation will be renewed and released from  suffering. For on that day the Lord  will say "“Come, all you who are thirsty,

    come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
    come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
    without money and without cost.(Isaiah  55.1and2)

and on that day: "You will go out in joy

    and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
    will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
    will clap their hands.

13

Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper,
    and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
    for an everlasting sign,
    that will endure forever.”

of course is the great and glorious day of the Lord

We shall experience God's glory as in Isaiah 54.14:

In righteousness you will be established:

Tyranny will be far from you;
    you will have nothing to fear.
Terror will be far removed;
    it will not come near you.

John expressed it as :

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.... He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, 'I am making everything new!'" (Revelation 21:1, 4-5)[notes]

I don’t really have an answer for the first question, other than it will be greater than anything we could possibly imagine. Just being resurrected and the feeling of knowing that this is it. The creation will go through a major change beginning with a total destruction of the old earth. This is the verse that tells me of getting rid of the old: 2Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up., and the verse that speaks of in with the new begins with Revelation 21:1  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. There are other verses which testify to the changes creation will undergo like the animals in Isaiah 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. There are, of course many other verses which give a hint as to what we can look forward to. It is hard to even imagine being so radiant that others would be afraid. I am sure our spirits will be overwhelmed to far beyond what we would even be capable of imagining at this point. So many things I look forward to like no pain, never ending energy, even though I’m not sure what God has in mind for that.

We will see Jesus in all His glory.

Creation will become like it was in Adam's day. Wild animals will lie down with domestic ones and a little child will lead them.

Our mortal bodies will become like His.

We will see the one who saved us and be with Him forever.

For one we will finally be able to see the Lord as He truly is in all His Glory for the first time. Because we will no longer be in our sinful bodies anymore but in our resurrected bodies instead. For as we are we are not able to withstand looking at His Glory for it would blind us and possibly even kill. It will be remade into a new heaven and new earth and there will also be a new Jerusalem as well. Our spirits will be like that of the angels.

We will be renewed. His glory will be in us. We will be revealed as sons and daughters of God (fellow heirs with Christ Jesus)

Creation will be renewed and remade. It will be a New Heaven and a New Earth. Creatures will be living together in peace and harmony as in Eden.

We will reclaim our physical bodies, which will henceforth no longer experience death or decay.

Our bodies will be as Christ's resurrected body.

If we do not change we would not be able to live in this glory .
