they need to pray and get there eyes on the one and true God and not let themselves be swayed by false teachings that there should be peace and quiet in there church and life that they should pray.

that maybe they had gotten away from the true meaning of what they were there for and reverted back to the old ways of the church and that they needed to get back into the right mode of preaching what God wanted which that is God loves each and every human being and he gave us the one true lamb that was Jesus and through him we can be saved and be with God in heaven

Paul wanted to remind the teachers that Jesus came to save even the "tax collectors" and the others that the rest of society thought were not worth saving. It seems that the teachers in Ephesus were forming a clique of the people they thought were worthy of saving.

We read in Timothy 1:15 that "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners" and in Timothy 2:4 he wants " All men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the Truth".But this was not happening in Ephesus.Instead some of the Jewish leaders in the Church were teaching a different doctrine to the Gentile believers and making them follow the Jewish tradition of salvation which require the Gentile believers to be circumcised.

Paul empgasizes "salvation of all mankind" in this letter for two reasons; (1) this is in agreement with the will of God - that all men are saved; and (2) and when those who are in authority are saved it is mor likely that they will put forth a greater effort to please God than being politically correct. . .

Paul's emphisis on salvation is because the false teachers were preaching/teaching that only Jews would be saved. This is false beause Jesus died on the cross to save all mankind. We must remember Christ's Great Commission.

This suggest that even though Paul had specifically told Timothy to take charge I think, Timothy was being railroaded as we call it today by the false teachers. So Paul wrote this letter to Timothy to let him know that this was wrong and he needed to take charge immediately.

This question begs the further analysis of Jesus Christ's own words. When asked "Lord, will there be few saved? He answered "Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able." (Luke 13:24) He goes on to explain with a parable (of sorts) "When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are" . This implies that there will be many who believe that they are saved, and without having the very living Jesus Christ in their heart, living through them, that they will not be saved.

This idea is more fully explained in Colossians 3

I am so thankful and refreshed from reading the scriptures for today. The notes given throughout about the scriptures is so helpful to think upon. Praise the Lord for teachers that God has sent to enlighten us in the Word. Jesus came to save everyone that would believe and put their trust in Him. He is our mediator and God is our Father. The whole main reason that Jesus came to earth and died and rose again is for all mankind to come to trust and believe in Him and be saved.

Bacause the false teachers were leadng people away from the Gospel, telling them they needed to follow Jewish tradition. Paul wanted make it clear that the Gospel was for everyone and to leave the old tradition and focus on Jesus.

Paul emphasized the salvation of all mankiind, to Timothy, for those who would accept it. God's plan of salvation through Jesus the Christ was open to all mankind -- Gentiles as well as Jews. God's desire is the universal salvation of humanity, so the gospel must be presented to all men and women/all the nations. God's call to humanity is inculsive. Sadly, not all men will be saved. This view was contrary to some views in the early church that Paul opposed. False teachers taught only certain people practicing certain rituals could be saved. Some Jews, Greeks, Gnostics, Agnostic, etc. had a spin on God's plan of salvation that was contrary to the gospel presented by Jesus and preached by the Apostles.

The practice of evangelism in the Ephesus church emphazied the truth that all believers are united in Christ because the church is the one body of Christ. People who were normally divided, like Jews and the Gentiles in the first century, were reconciled to each other through Christ. Paul urged the Ephesians to live out the spiritual truth of being joined together with Christ. Whether Jew or Gentile, they had to work together to make the unity of the Church a reality.

Paul emphasize what Jesus emphasized, and that is that the Gospel should be heard by all, and he wants none to perish but all to hear the Truth and come to salvation. It is a statement of total inclusion, and includes male, female, and all races and nationalities, absolutely everybody.

By making this statement it indicates to me that the church in Ephesus was not including everybody as part of their church and evangelism.

Apostle Paul wanted the Church at Ephesus and other churches to be soul winning stations.  Apostle Paul uses the phrase "in Christ" so many times in his Epistles.  He was so blessed to be called by God "...ordained a preacher, and an apostle".  He took this calling very seriously.  Apostle Paul had such a grip on the kerygma that any other teachings were repugnant to him.  Nothing could diminish his love of the Holy Bible and atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Ephesus church was a soul winning church.   Truly a lighthouse in a city of darkness.   Pagan worship was rampant in Ephesus; Diana temple and gnostic teachers deluded many with fables and useless genealogical questions.   Apostle Paul and Timothy lifted up the name of the Lord Jesus Christ constantly; they could not afford to get sidetracked.

Paul emphasizes all of mankind because it would appear that the Jewish leaders or false teachers have indicated that the new movement does not include Gentiles.  Paul had travelled a lot and knew the various prejudices that existed in the culture and the churches.  I am also keeping in mind that the church was still young and that decisions about whether one must convert to Judaism and THEN to Christianity had just been made or were being made.

Regardless, it is good that Paul spoke in very clear terms, with no room for interpretation so we can carry this forward into today's environment!

The church at Ephesus may have initially started with the Jews there and then develop an exclusivity of the church to this population without spreading beyond.  (I would have loved to be a fly on the wall if Paul and John the Apostle had met and chatted there!)

Paul had such a deep understanding of the kerygma.   It was so central to his heart and mind.  It was a Catholic message that Paul was preaching: ALL MEN to be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth.  He was so convinced that God the eternal King, immortal, invisible and the only wise God called him to the ministry.    

No wonder Paul had no use for vain babblings concerning spurious Gnostic genealogies and heterodox teachings.  He was convinced that we as Christians are the Body of Christ.   In water baptism, we have put on Christ.   We have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light; we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, and a peculiar people.   We have no time to end up in arguments about New Age doctrines, theosophical discussions, and arguing with naysayers who aren't EVANGELISTIC .

We are an Apostolic people, evangelistic preaching and evangelistic outreach are in our blood.   We cannot do otherwise.  We take the high road while others are caught up in ashes, arguing about things that aren't biblical, not evangelistic,; we move on and get caught up in divisions  and strifes.  It seems that the Ephesian church was getting sidetracked by heterodox teachers,and confusing young believers.   They were getting caught up in forms of gnostic Judaism instead of going out witnessing  about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Q1.Paul emphasises salvation of all people, and not just Jews because with everything that was going on in the church, false teachers, the inward looking results of their attitudes, the wrong teachings etc, something was being missed. The gentiles were being forgotten and not being prayed for by the church congregation of Jews. This would suggest that they had forgotten about God’s great commission and were not involved in evangelism.
