"Living a life worthy of your calling" has everything to do with maintaining unity in the Church in verses 2-6. If we are not living according to the principles the Lord gave us, we are not building a Christian body. Unity is "worthy" in that it brings everyone together for the purpose of serving the Lord and living in His word. By keeping a separation from fellow Christians we are "worthy" by keeping our personal beliefs personal in our walk with Him. Our "calling" is to build a relationship with the Lord and to be obedient to His will.

By living a totally surrendered dedicated life to Jesus Christ, not just talking the talk but walking the walk,others in the church will see Christ s` light shining through me and they will unite with me --its contagious. By this we can maintain unity in the church.

Our calling is wonderfully described in Chapter 1-3 of Ephesians, and yet further asPaul goes on to desacribe spiritual gifts and the fruit of the Spirit, personal relationships and spiritual warfare. it is marvellously summned up in Ephesians 1:4, that we were chosen before the foundation of the world that we should

If I am having an operation in hospital, I am certainly hoping that each one of the medical team are up to scratch - walking worthy of their calling in various areas of medical practice. Otherwise I would be very distressed. So each individual Christian needs to be "up to scratch" in their walk with God, if the church is truly to walk in the "good works that God has prepared for us to walk in".

As in question 3 much greater things can be achieved as a team than can be achieved indicvidually.

We have each to make sure our personal walk with God is all that it could be. No-one can do that for us. This precedes being an effective part of the wonderful body of Christ.

"Living a life worthy of your calling" is a call for us to walk on a plane even with the position we have in Christ. Philippians 1:27c "Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel". We are to walk in the light of the Word of GOD.

Those of us who have received Jesus Christ as our personal Savior are baptized into the body of Christ and we are to keep the unity which GOD's Holy Spirit has made. We cannot make that unity, only GOD's Holy Spirit makes the unity, but we are to maintain it. If we are not walking in the Spirit there will be no unity.

There are times that there must be a separation of Christians such as in 1 Corinthians 5.

Our "calling" is when GOD's Holy Spirit calls us from our dead life into eternal life with Him. We are called to live worthy of our calling.

We all have a calling and we must fulfill that calling. We are to live as God has called us to live. To conduct our lives all the time as God has called us. In the body of Christ we are one with one goal to glorify the Father, we must stand in unity to get this done.

Jesus called me to follow him and and dress Him be like Him. He loves all of us and He wants us to be one in Him and love one another. When we live the life we were called to live, then it is inevitable that we maintain the unity of the church as we all drink from one spirit and all have one God.

The unity of the children of God in His spirit is actually the basis for the strength of the kingdom of God. Where ever there is unity there is blessing and there His power and grace works to bless those who believe in Him.

It is not thus worthy of our calling to allow divisions to occur, since we are one in Christ. We need to hold on the one God and concentrate on our mission on earth, which is our calling. To follow and serve His purpose is our prime calling.

" Holiness is the quality in God that cares about our sin, and the capacity in Him to do something about it. When sinners worship gods of their own making, they drag the gods down to their own level. When sinners worship the God of holiness, they are lifted up to His level."

I recently received this quote in a daily devotional and it had great impact on me in my daily walk and in understanding devotion to the God I serve.

I appreciate the prayer Paul prayed in Chapter 1:15-19. He prays for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so others may know Christ better. He prays that the eyes of hearts are opened in order to know the hope we are called to and to know of the inheritance we receive with the saints. He asks that we would know of the incomparable power given to us if we believe. That power is in Christ Jesus through the Holy Spirit.

When we choose to live a life worthy of our high calling, we have come to KNOW who gives that power and that His power gives us understanding in how to act. We can do even what we thought was impossible through the power of the Holy Spirit.

" Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all things will be added unto you."

The Holy Spirit will lift us up to His level of holiness once we seek Him with all of our heart and soul and mind.

When a body of beleivers comes to know God and they truly beleive they are one in the Spirit and with each other a new awakening happens and the power of the Holy Spirit really starts to pour out through them.

We see we are worthy to serve by His power. We serve Jesus and this we know to be a high honor given to us. We are devoted to Christ and His ways. We become servants with a humbleness and love just as He did. We keep the bonds of peace with each other through the Holy Spirit staying connected to Him always and asking for the power of His love to be evident in us.

This is our calling, " To be completely humble and gentle; to be patient, bearing with one another in love. Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace." We are, " One body, one Spirit. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father who is over all and through all and in all." We, " build up in love" as we each do our own work, using our gifts, to prepare God's people for works of service and maturity in faith to attain the whole fullness of God.

"Living a life worthy of your calling" means living a life as a true disciple of Jesus. He called us and we have committed to follow Him. Jesus said to His disciples, "Love one another. As I have loved you. you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." As disciples and members of His body, His church, we should be as one and we must live and behave in a manner towards fellow Christians that encourages unity. We should not be separated from other Christians. We must work to find common ground (which is much greater than we first imagine) because Jesus wanted there to be one church. In our efforts to follow our Lord, with His Spirit within us, we must project values and behave to encourage copoperation and unity. While we must be alive to the dangers of false teaching and adhere rigidly to the truth as we see it through God's Word, we should have sufficient forbearance and humility to accept other Christians as brothers and not potential enemies. Jesus is the judge of our faith. He will determine who He welcomes to heaven to be with Him always. Without needing to compromise what we hold as essential, we should work towards a church that can embrace all true Christians. Jesus clearly wanted one church and one band of disciples, following one teaching.

Living a life worthy of our calling is to realize that its not all about me but its all about HIM. If we put God 1st then we will prefer higher than ourselves. God is our Father so that means we are all brothers and sisters in the Lord. One family with one Father. No Father enjoys his children fighting and bickering. Separation from other Christians is really not a good thing because we are to help one another and love one another and you are not doing that if you separate yourselves. Our life should reflect Jesus' values and commands. We should be humble, gentle, patient, and loving. All of these traits are key in maintaining unity in the body of Christ.

Without unity, there is chaos and confusion. Without unity in the Church, the world cannot see the love of Christ. Our God is an organzied, orderly God; there is no confusion in him. Unity makes a place for all believers to participate in spreading the Kingdom of God on this planet, in this world. Unity provides an avenue for Christians to exercise the gifts and talents that God has given them.

There is nothing worthy about separation from our fellow Christians. It causes confusion and it is satanic. Division works into the hands of satan. When the world sees a divided church along racial and dominational lines, it wonders whether the church really has any answers or not. Is there really any difference between the church and the world? Unity clears any clouds of confusion. Unity is of the utmost importance. The world sees the love and power of Jesus Christ in the unity of believers.

Our calling as Christians is to be united in Christ. To be one as the Father and Son are one.

The calling is to be Christ disciple. "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."(Jn 13:35) The New Command that Jesus Himself give us. So if are divided, how can love each other.

How good a pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity(Ps 133:1). It s hard to tolerate others' misunderstandings and they multitude of differences cause usually we are not different, but others do... We are not called to facility, by following Jesus; We are called to do what He appeared for: destroy the Devil's work.(1Jn 3:8) And the separation from our fellows clearly means that The Devil is still rejoicing cause we disciples, who suppose to destroy his work, are building for him in a certain way, because of our ignorance.

Our calling is to follow Christ in Word and deed; it is an equal calling for all who have been drawn by God. We are to follow Christ's example and Spirit no matter our station or position in life. To lead a life that is worthy means we are demonstrating Christ as best we can while being living examples of the fruit of the Spirit. How and who we conduct ourselves with says alot about our commitment and faith in our calling to Him. Our lives and living should reflect the scripture- not seeking perfection or personal glory- it is a means to delighting God and receiving what God has for us. So by contrast, we should not be in association with or in the habit of being anyone or anything that God has not prepared us for; God knows what we are capable of so His calling is that which He has made us able to bear, accomplish and bring Him glory.

Worthy of our calling means for me accepting Christ's life, death and resurrection and living faithfully for His return as a living witness of faith.

In order to maintain unity each member of the body must strive to walk as Christ walked. Because it is not possible to maintain a constant spiritual unity (we are all at different stages of growth) the elders should be a constant example to the younger.

It is in unity that we experience "the fullness of the Godhead bodily" that is we are of one mind and one accord which is a prerequisite for the operation of the Holy Spiri in the church (see Acts 2:1-4).

As we are called to walk as did the Lord we need to bear in mind that the only time He was alone was in His time of "closet prayer". Otherwise, He was always with the body of believers. There is nothing worthy of be a lone wolf.

Christ. To me, walking worthy, is wearing the armor in Eph 6, and living in tune with the Holy Spirit. Prayer is very important here because without prayer, you would not be in tune with God.

Our "worthiness" comes from God and not in ourselves, so to live a life "worthy" of our calling is to live a life in Christ. Our call to live in Christ is a very high calling and an honor. When we are given any high position or honor, we are expected to live up to the standard set for that privilege. So as we live a life worthy of our calling, we live up to the standards of Christ in us. We will as a congregation live in unity, because we will live to the high standard of maintaining unity. We ARE unified in the Spirit and we need to remember we are one in Christ. Paul always talked about a "more excellent way" and that way was through love and humility and esteeming others as more important than self. Devotion to Jesus is always manifested in love and that behavior shows we are living a life worthy of our calling.

I don't think there is anything worthy about separation from fellow Christians. It goes against everything there is about a body growing and moving together. It's against everything that speaks of giving to and getting along with others.

Our calling is to live as Christ taught us to live and to be His hands and feet so others can be drawn to the truth of who He is and can come to believe and be saved, redeemed by His blood and become children of God.
