masika
Q1. (1 John 2:18) What is this antichrist that John expects to come? What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? The Antichrist, is a false messiah, he will be a counterfeit of Christ Antichrists are false teachers who pretend to be Christians and who lure weak members away from Christ. It goes without saying that the spirit of the Antichrist is a deceiving spirit. And in a world filled with the spiritually dead, deception is not a major challenge. "And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others" (Eph. 2:1-3). The spiritually dead can neither see nor hear the voice of the Shepherd (Jn. 10). Nor can they "see" or "enter the kingdom of God" (Jn. 3:3-7). Antwan
Q1. (1 John 2:18) What is this antichrist that John expects to come? What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? The anti-Christ that is expected to come is a leader lead by Satan that will have control of a world-wide government. He will attempt to set himself up above everything called "God", and will desire to be worshiped as God, setting himself up in God's temple in Jerusalem; in other words, he is the one that opposes and tries to take the place of Christ, who will come to power in the world. The difference between the anti-Christ that is to come and the anti-Christs that were at work in John's day up into the present is that the ones at work then and now bring in heretical teachings to secretly ensnare believers in Christ; some don't out right come against Christ, but twist the true doctrine. Some ways we can see the spirit of anti-Christ at work today are things that downplay the principles of God, from taking prayer out of schools, to taking the ten commandments out of public places in fear that it will offend those who don't believe in them. Sandra K
Q1. (1 John 2:18) What is this antichrist that John expects to come? What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? The antichrist is the very one who will oppose Jesus and the church and according to the book of Rev. exalt himself above God. While all evil will abound in him, there are others before him who have the spirit of antichrist and oppose God and His kingdom. Today I see the spirit of antichrist at work more than any time in my past. Currently there is a ramped up war against Christianity in less than subtle ways. And our president seems to oppose the Lord.

What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? As ye have heard that antichrist will come He speaks as of a thing well known. The difference is the faithful had been taught and warned from the beginning respecting the future disorder of the Church, in order that they might, carefully keep themselves in the faith they professed, and also instruct posterity in the duty of watchfulness. For it was God

What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? antichrists are enemies of Christ. Antichrist is an enemy of our Lord but hasn't yet come. we see many ways the spirit shows itself-taking prayer out of schools, taking "In God we trust" worn at work for personal reasons yet he was fired, and taking God's name off our coins. What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? The antichrist that John expects to come has not yet been revealed. The antichrist is anyone who opposes Christ thus opposes the Father. John is writing about the enemies of church who were influence by the spirit of the antichrist. The spirit of the antichrist is at work in many ways; Prayer taken out of schools, Some people are still waiting on the Messiah, Fighting openly against their Pastor's teaching Patricia
haar
The Antichrist John said will come is Satan who will come, rule the wold and lead many to his kingdom of darkness. It is believed that he is not yet here but his spirit is working already in the world and is responsible for false teaching and all activities aimed at leading people lell- wards. Debbie Cambridge
What is this antichrist that John expects to come? What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? The antichrist John expects is the "ruler who will come and set up "an abomination that causes desolation, the beast coming out of the sea who acts as a puppet of Satan, making war against Christian believers. The difference between the one to come and the ones that are in John's time, is the one to come seems to be spoken of as the one who makes himself very public in the world, and will set himself up proclaiming himself to be God. Whereas the antichrists in Johns time seems subversive and anti Jesus Christ. Not as powerful or as dangerous as the one to come. The spirit of antichrist is at work everywhere. I see it in NZ as dumbing down the importance and presence of God on earth. Distracting people to think that they don't need God. As we are safe to worship here people of the world feel there is no imperative to trust God for everything, that they are fine, and almost can't be bothered. What a huge shame! linda bass
The antichrist that John expects to come is a ruler who will set himself up in the Jewish temple and proclaim himself to be God. He will demand worship. He will be a puppet of Satan and will make war against Christians. The different between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to is the antichrist has not yet been revealed. He will come on the scene sometime in the future. The antichrists are enemies of Christ at work in the church today. They have introduced false doctrine that denies Jesus is God incarnate and they practice immoral behavior unbecoming to Christians. This is why it is important to study the Bible and know the scriptures so we can discern between true and false teachings. We see the spirit of antichrist at in our day through the persecution of Christians in oppressed nations such as China,North Korea,Iran,Sudan,Cuba, etc. In America you have prayer taken out of schools, atheists trying to get "under God" removed from the Pledge and "In God We trust" from our coins. Craig
Q1. (1 John 2:18) What is this antichrist that John expects to come? What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? John's antichrist is the spirit of those who deny that Jesus Christ (the Christ), came in the flesh and was God incarnate according the Gospel of the Apostles. This spirit has existed for two thousand years among some on this planet. The difference between the antichrists in the church John was referring to and the "antichrist" is that at a particular time in history, an individual person, used by satan, will try to displace Jesus Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He will seek to be the object of adoration and worship.
glory
THE ANTICHRIST THAT JOHN EXPECTS TO COME IS GOING TO BE A MAN USED BY SATAN TO SET HIMSELF UP IN GOD'S HOLY TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM.HE IS GOING TO MAKE WAR WITH CHRISTIANS AND DEMAND THAT ALL PEOPLE WORSHIP HIM.THE ANTICHRISTS IN JOHN'S DAYS WERE THOSE WHO WERE OPPOSING TRUTH OR TWISTING THE WORD OF GOD AND CAUSING OTHERS TO STUMBLE.THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST IS CLEARLY AT WORK IN OUR GOVERNMENT AND IN THE NATION AS A WHOLE.I SEE IT IN MANY FAMILY MEMBERS OF MINE WHO ARE OF DIFFERENT RELIGIOUS BACKGROUND.THEY BELIEVE JESUS WAS A GOOD MAN, BUT CERTAINLY NOT GOD. SOME DONT EVEN BELIEVE HE CAME IN THE FLESH PERIOD.
Debra M.
What is this antichrist that John expects to come? It is the spirit that denies Jesus Christ as the messiah and Lord and Savior. This spirit denies the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is the spirit that will draw people to him, because of rejection of the teachings of Jesus Christ (the gospel). What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? The antichrists are those that pave the way for the antichrist. Similar to Jesus being the Christ and then those of us that are Christians and paving the way for others to come to Christ. Jesus came first and then came the Christian. But with the antichrist, the antichrists come first and then the antichrist. Opposing in nature. In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? There are umpteen religions that either deny Jesus as the Christ or deny His divinity. These religions teach about a god(s), but none are offered salvation and eternal life by their gods. These religions falsely teach that there is no need for a Savior. This is in complete opposition to what the Bible teaches.

What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? THe antichrist is the final adversary. The antichrists up until the final one are all that put self against the gospel. They serve as types and eminate deception, that which seeks to change or distort gospel, by using one of the 3 ways of world described previous as did with Jesus in wilderness. The spirit of antichrist is at work mightly with many deceptions and threads of deception working through out the body of Christ.
kiwidenis
Q1. (1 John 2:18) What is this antichrist that John expects to come? What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? In general John sees 'AntiChrists' coming - people who oppose or twist the true doctrines of the church. Probably the 'antichrists of our day are similar in many ways to those of John's day - people who oppose the gospel or want to use it fo their own gains - for power or control. Today we see people denying the gospel - denying the resurrection and the authenticity of the Bible.. just as some did in the early church. However there will be a major individual with sweeping powers given to him in the last days -- and I believe we are living in those days. Nightwolf
Evidence of spiritual darkness of the anti-Christ is strong in its influence today to intimidate & try to silence Christians from speaking the Truth, ex: Hate Crime laws just legislated. In New York, perhaps other large city's Atheist messages are boldly displayed on city buses Ex" You don't need god to be good, just be good for goodness sake" all might seem trivial to unbeliever, but represent a small evil seed planted in the heart & mind of men, which takes root in the heart to suffocate the truth in their hearts. Greta
The antichrist John expects to come is still not revealed. He is expected to be someone really loathsome, an abomination that causes desolation. Someone who declares he is god and manipulates unbelievers to worship him. The 'antichrists' already in the church John is writing to are people who are really against God and are causing a big disruption in the church. We see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day by the introduction of false doctrine and imoral behavour.

What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? The antichrist that John spoke of is still not revealed. But he is a person who is doing the work of the devil and will persuade people to follow him. He will be someone who appears to be a great leader. The antichrists in the church that John is writing to is the ones who do not love God and try to persuade Christians away from the church. We see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day by the many false prophets either in the churches, tv, or radio. They preach false doctrines and there are many people who believe in them and their doctrines, which are false.

Foofee's Nana
The antichrist that John expects to come is the forerunner to end times, the ultimate enemy of Christ. The differences in the antichrist and the antichrists already at work in the church are ...the antichrist has not yet appeared but in reality the enemy is at work within the churches, with false doctrine, the lawlessness of unbelief. We see this power already at work today by the decline in the church, the spiritual fall of many.
maddog
Q1. (1 John 2:18) What is this antichrist that John expects to come? What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? This Antichrist is an emissary from below and whants to undermine Christian's faith and belief. The antichrists they are faced with are very different: (1)they are not the last and final one; (2) they are the ones who have come to establish a foothold in that metropolitan Christian community. We can go on-line, read many books, listen to the conversations around us. We can see the upheaval that's fouling the environment, children, schools, things in print, radio, televison, dysfunctional families: abuse, incest, immortality. and refusal of some to be attached to a Christian community. What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? I believe the antichrist John expects to come is the same one described in Daniel. The one who will come forth at the begining of the end of times. The difference between the two is one is will be The antichrist, who the others are working through. The ones in the church are those who are teaching false docterine and are working to lead people away from Christ. The way we see the spirit work today is the teachers of false doctorine, those who speak against Christ, all the ungodly acts of today, that are supposedly "in the name of God". What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to? In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? The antichrist that John expects is the one who will come toward the end of the age to rule the world and th lead a great rebellion against Christ and the New Testament faith. The difference is the antichrist in the church are those professed believers who love the world and its sinful pleasures and distort the gospel and its message of the cross, placing themselves against Christ and His righteousness. We can see it today because of the division in the church. christians are not willing to give up the world entirely and follow God with their whole heart.
