We are Gods by reason of receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour and having the Holy Spirit of God comes into us to lead us to live a Godly Christ like life. Q. What does the Holy Spirit have to do with this "new birth"? How does the new birth change us? A. See b part of the answer above please. How does the new birth change us? We are His children if we carry His family name, meaning Christian. It is in a spiritual form when we become children of God, the day we accept His Son Jesus as our best friend and saviour. We are anointed with the Holy Spirit , and it is this within us that changes us day by day as we hear the voice of the Holy Spirit instructing us, convicting us, guiding us, and revealing to us. We become children by being born again , as Jesus said, we need to born of water AND the Spirit, and this means putting away the old me and being born again, a new me. The new birth is what salts us as we continue to walk with this changed spirit walking in the light . It is this obedience to the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit teaching us the ways and truths of Jesus that will continue let us grow in HIM. Because we have accepted Jesus Christ, and have been baptized with water, we have received the Holy Spirit. In God’s eyes, we have been “born again.” What does the Holy Spirit have to do with this "new birth"? Since we are reborn by the Holy Spirit (and our acceptance of Christ), we are now children, once again. We will remain children of God as long as we continue to accept him as our Father. How does the new birth change us? We have New Life. God now expects us to grow and mature in our faith. Though we remain “Children of God,” for the rest of our eternity, while we are alive on earth we must mature in our understanding of His Word and speak that Word out loud to bring others to the Faith.
