Delivered
Q2. (Genesis 28:12-15) What did Jacob's dream of the angels ascending and descending from heaven signify to Jacob? Angels, messengers of God; appear only to those who are good, Abraham being one of them, and now to Jacob. The angels going up and down display to me there is communication going on between heaven and earth, there is communication between Jacob and God, Jacob is able to draw near to God. What did God's blessing mean to him? The reality of the
Eudora
Q2.(Genesis 28:12-15) What did Jacob's dream of the angels ascending and descending from heaven signify to Jacob? That he like the angels would be blessed in his comings and blessed in his goings because he had never heard his dad or mom tell him about this type of thing while he was growing up; this gateway to heaven. What did God's blessing mean to him? All the blessings that his dad had spoken over him were now confirmed by the mouth of God. In what way was this a conversion experience for him? What Jacob had just established, was his own relationship with God because he had just been shown a vision, never heard of mentioned before this time. JanMary
Q2. (Genesis 28:12-15) What did Jacob's dream of the angels ascending and descending from heaven signify to Jacob? He said to himself "Surely God is in this place.".....He'd experienced God's presence in his life, through a personal visitation, and realized there was an open door to Heaven and to relationship with and access to God. In my own life when He came to me, God went from being impersonally "out there", to the most important Person in my life. This kind of encounter changes everything, and Jacob seemed to realize he was now God's, and no longer his own. What did God's blessing mean to him? He had rested his head on a rock while sleeping but afterward used it to set up a monument to the Rock of Ages, naming the place Bethel (The house of God), then anointing it with oil, as a sacred place to Jacob. He stated that God would be his God, since God had declared Himself "for" Jacob, and then vowed to tithe to God. In what way was this a conversion experience for him? This encounter with God was the beginning of a personal relationship for Jacob, replacing the second hand information about God he'd received at the feet of his parents, Rebekah and Isaac. God Himself spoke to Jacob and established "The Blessing" in Jacob's life which he would then pass on to his first born son.

Pearl
The angels ascending and descending signifies a ladder or stairway to heaven, (a gateway to heaven) God's blessing to Jacob confirms to Jacob, the third generation, God's promises to Abraham. When awakes from his dream, he is profoundly moved. His father and his Grandfather's God has just now become his own. God now becomes the one he lives for. He no longer takes what he wants for himself. This is Jacob's conversion.

Jen
Q2. (Genesis 28:12-15) What did Jacob's dream of the angels ascending and descending from heaven signify to Jacob? What did God's blessing mean to him? In what way was this a conversion experience for him? In a sense this was a vallidation for Jacob, who was probably a little overwhelmed and asking himself "is this supposed to be happening", that God Himself was doing this and that He would be with Jacob throughout. God's blessing must have been a very comforting one and must have been a sustaining force in the difficult years to come. When God reaches down and touches man nothing is the same ever again. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 "I know not what awaits me God kindly veils my eyes But on each step of my onward way He makes new scenes to rise." Jacob is not expecting what is awaiting him but he does know that God is with him and He is here with each of us.

Kings Kid
He wakes up, he is flushed with the excitement of this revelation and he immediately declares that this spot is important to God, and the ladder is the port hole to God. He is trying to idolize something physical as representation of God, rather than listening to the very words God gave him. Up until this time, we see little spiritual life in Jacob. Jacob thought that he had walked away from his home the promised land of his father

Magnus
WOW! Talk about a "fear of the LORD" moment. Imagine being Jacob. All you life your Father has told you of the promises God made to Abraham, but apart from those stories, Jacob lived far from those promises. Forever at odds with his brother Esau... conniving the birthright and his Father's blessings... and now on the run from certain death at the hands of his vengeance seeking brother. Then God intercedes in a dream, reinforcing the promises that Jacob recalls from his Father's teaching. God IS present, and near. Jacob hears that he is now the promise carrier, and that God's provision and protection are securely upon him. Dad's stories were true. His casual belief has become real, and Jacob's conversion is every bit as dramatic as Saul's. Click HERE to sponsor a child today
Kerryanne
Jacob was not alone. God is going to be with him. This blessing reveals to Jacob: Who God is, the promise given to Abraham renewed, Promise to multiply their decendents and they will be a blessing to the world. Jacob had met with God. He was given something for himself to trust in God, get to know God, he was not alone and everything will be fine for God is in charge. He just had to begin the walk with God and God would carry him and fulfil the blessing. His conversion gave him an opportunity to get to know God personally. It is his choice to walk with God, God opened the door for him.

linda bass
Jacob's dream of angels ascending and descending from heaven signified that his grandfather Abraham and his father Isaac's God has now become his own. What God's blessing meant to Jacob is that He has renewed His promise to Abraham and Isaac through Jacob. In a way this was a converson experience for Jacob because he has had a mind expanding glimpse of God's infinite greatness.
