Greta
Jesus created all these powers and they were all created for Him, to serve Him. They are all subject to His supreme authority and must answer to Him. We should not fear these powers and governments, but we are told in the bible that we must pray for our governments and all in authority. WALT39
Q3. (Colossians 1:16) "Thrones," "powers," "rulers," "principalities," "authorities," etc. probably refer to both earthly as well as angelic and demonic dominions. What does this passage teach about the relation of these powers to Jesus? How should this affect our fear of them? How should it affect our prayers? Colossians 1:16 - For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him "Thrones," "powers," "rulers," "principalities," "authorities," etc. probably refer to both earthly as well as angelic and demonic dominions. What does this passage teach about the relation of these powers to Jesus? How should this affect our fear of them? How should it affect our pray. In this Scripture, it is told to us that "all things were created by him and for him". Because all were created by Him, we should not fear them because God created them. Our prayers should be that these "thrones," "powers," "rulers," "principalities," "authorities," etc. be guided by God's will and not their will. janspiljard
a. All these things have been created, therefore, all these things are subordinate to Jesus, who is the Creator. Their power will never exceed, nor even come close to the power of our Lord Jesus. b. If Jesus is the Creator of these and therefore he is in control of them as well, then we do not need to fear especially the demonic side of the powers and principalities, how ever it comes to us, when we are followers of Jesus, when we proclaim Jesus our Savior and our Lord/Master. Our Master is stronger than all of these powers and principalities combined. We may not always see it in our lives, but one day this will become visible. We just need in faith to trust Jesus with all our hearts and minds and souls. c. Jesus, being Lord and Creator of all, should make us think about prayer in a much more free and powerful way. We pray in the name of Jesus, the greatest power on earth and in heaven. Let our prayers mirror that power and let's have faith that our prayers, prayed in his name, are very very powerful by themselves. Let's stand in the power of Jesus and pray boldly. Ramon
Answer:Thrones,Powers, rulers, principalities, authorities, wether they are angelic or demonic are all subject under the Authority and Lordship of Jesus, having created them all. The relationship of these created powers is that nobody can be above Jesus, having all of them to worship, and bow their knee weather in love, fear or trembling, and confess that Jesus is Lord.(Phil 2:9-11- 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.)..they are created to serve Jesus. Highohfaith
Q3. (Colossians 1:16) Thrones, powers, rulers, principalities, authorities, etc. probably refer to both earthly as well as angelic and demonic dominions. What does this passage teach about the relation of these powers to Jesus? How should this affect our fear of them? How should it affect our prayers? Jesus is ruler of all earthy and heavenly powers, dominions and principalities, both angelic or demonic,He is preeminent, supreme power. He CREATED ALL and He RULES ALL! We should not have any fear of any other powers, because Jesus is ABOVE all powers, he is the ultimate POWER. We should never pray to angels or demons or to any other power. All prayers should be directed to God and God alone! refer to Romans 8:38,39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the LOVE OF GOD that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." wifee
3a) Jesus is Creator of all things, all authorities & powers. We have the victory in Him over even the demonic powers. B)We should not therefore with Jesus be fearful of any powers if we are walking in his ways, C)If we pray in Jesus name we have his resources to protect us, nothing will separate us from the love of God and He will act for us. Song He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world.reminds us of this promise.
jacquie7
Jesus is superior to and has power over ALL creation. This includes “thrones, powers, rulers, principalities, authorities, any and all angelic beings, etc. Jesus Himself is the Boss over everything. Therefore, we do not have to fear what He created (He gave man back the power and authority Adam lost over thrones, powers, principalities, and powers) and we should pray to Him as He is our Creator and not the things that He created. WinstonY
Q3. (Colossians 1:16) Thrones, powers, rulers, principalities, authorities,. probably refer to both earthly as well as angelic and demonic dominions. What does this passage teach about the relation of these powers to Jesus? How should this affect our fear of them? How should it affect our prayers? This verse teaches us that All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus the Son and that all earthly and heavenly systems are subject to Jesus. Authority, all authority has been granted to him. Since Jesus is our Lord and Our Saviour we need not fear the powers that bee but need only too be subject to the Lord and to pray to him only.
