pickledilly Posted May 1, 2010 Report Share Posted May 1, 2010 In His physical death on the cross, Jesus accomplished this unimaginable reconciliation by offering His own blood as atonement for our rebellion and sin against God. That undefiled blood was the only offering that could satisfy the debt, redeem us from the penalty of our transgressions against God, and reconcile us to Him. The "blood of His cross" has everything to do with this reconciliation because it was the only means by which it could be secured. The purpose was to bring all things on earth and in heaven back into harmony with God, specifically making us holy, blameless, and above reproach in the eyes of our supreme Judge. Vincent Paul DiMino Posted May 1, 2010 Report Share Posted May 1, 2010 Jesus accomplished reconciliation between God and all his creation by obedience to the Father,Love for our God, and through that love,love for His creation.This was accomplished by sacrifice through pain and suffering of the "blood of His cross",and his very life,which no man could take from him,but he laid down of His own free will."The life is in the blood".And now,His life,by the power of his shed blood,is our life.Part of the purpose of this reconciliation,is our salvation,part is to glorify God,and part,is to make ready for the new Heaven and Earth.The complete fulfillment of the will of God is beyond our understanding,but by His Grace,will be within our ability to receive with joy and thanksgiving.We will be presented to our Lord Jesus,transformed in His likeness,by His Grace,in order that He may present us to the Father,as His own. charisbarak Posted May 2, 2010 Report Share Posted May 2, 2010 Jesus became a sacrifice for our sins. His shed blood was the sacrifice called for to forgive us our sins. It was the only way to satisfy a holy God. The purpose is to save us out of God's love for us so we would be without blemish & holy in God's sight!! The Contemporary English Version says, "God made peace by sacrificing His (Jesus') blood on the cross. The significance is in meeting the law's requirement for blood sacrifice. "Heb 9:22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." The purpose of this reconciliation was to pay for our sin and make us righteous before God. Because of Jesus' sacrifice, we are presented to God holy, without blemish, and free from accusation. Jesus shed His blood on the Cross and died for us. Only a man, in this case a perfect Man, could shed blood that satisfied our Heavenly Father and could tear the barrier, allowing us believers to be reconciled to God. He made "peace through the blood of His cross." The purpose is to bring man into communion with God. God in His grace and mercy decided to reconcile us as believers to Him. By shedding blood on the cross, Jesus has washed us clean from all our sins. He represents the sacrificial lamb. (verse 22) Jesus reconciled us to God by taking the punishment for our sins on the Cross. His blood was innocent because He had never sinned. So His blood is the accepted payment for our sins. This reconciliation makes us now friends of God. We are presented before God now as righteous, without accusation and holy. We don't see ourselves this way, but God sees us this way if we have confessed our sins and accepted His Son's blood as the atonement for our sins. We must continually come before God in repentence to make sure we are walking in the light and not falling into error or sin, allowing Him to shed His light on our lives by the washing of the Word. The Word is a mirror that shows us what we lack and corrects us. It is our responsibility to humble ourselves, repent, and obey the leading of the Holy Spirit. Without the New Birth we are powerless to do this, or to even desire it. But once we have been born-again, we then have the power and the desire to follow after God's heart. Jesus who is the Son of God, came down from heaven and became a man like all of us. He who did no wrong willingly gave Himself up to die on the cross for our sins. For our sake he was crucified - nailing all our sins to the cross. Through his sacrifice, all our sins have been forgiven and we have been restored to a right relationship with God. What does the blood of his cross have to do with it? To whom are we "presented"? In the OT, an unblemished animal was sacrified and the shedding of blood provided forgiveness. Jesus became the unblemished sacrificial lamb to shed his blood for the forgiveness of our sins and cover us with His blood to present us as righteous before a holy God. For christ diead for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous to bring you to God (1 peter 3:18) The purpose of his reconciliation so we able to have relation with God... And only through Jesus that we can meet God... John 14:6 I m the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the FAther except through me... We will be presented to God... and we need to be holy...how we can be holy? is by Jesus blood... y we need to be holy? because our Father in heaven is holy... It is through the blood of the Lamb that this is accomplished. None can boast that they are reconciled through any other means, because only through the blood of Jesus are we saved! This is our Faith and our hope! Hope for anyone who will believe! Oh believe in Jesus!!! Jesus blood bought us. What a price we were purchased for! Jesus is the innocent lamb, sent for the final blood sacrifice for sin. He lay down His life willingly to bring about our reconciliation with our Father. There is wonder working power in the blood of Jesus. Our redeemer. He bought us back with His blood so we can be at peace with God and to make us holy in God's sight. Mankind "fell" into the hands and dominion of Satan when Adam chose to disobey God in the Garden of Eden. The reconciliation God required was the shedding of innocent blood, since the "life is in the blood". Jesus came to earth, fully man and fully God, lived a perfect sinless life, which He laid down in crucifixion, death, burial, then resurrection, which purchased mankind form Satan's dominion. Now each individual can make the choice to either stay in the fallen state, or to choose to receive God's provision for reconciliation with Him, through Jesus, His Son. What does "the blood of his cross" have to do with it? God's requirement for the forgiveness of sin is the shedding of innocent blood. When Adam and Even sinned and fell from their glorified state in the Garden, they tried to cover themselves with leaves. God Himself killed an animal to cover them...the first shed blood to cover sin. Innocent blood is the only acceptable means of reconciliation so at the right time God sent Jesus to be the propitiation for our sins and He died once for all..........that whosoever will may come. What is the purpose of this reconciliation? (verse 22) To whom are we "presented?" (verse 22) God's creation was lost to Him until Jesus provided the only way to be reunited with Him. Jesus became the bridge across the chasm separating sinful man from a Holy God. When we choose to receive Jesus as the Way the Truth and the Life, we cross the bridge, so to speak, and He presents us to His Father. I love the unity of our Triune God....the Father draws us to Jesus (col.1:13), Jesus died for our sins, and when we accept the sacrifice of His shed blood, we are the gift to Him from His Father, (John 17:24) then He presents us to His Father as a gift (Col l:22) All we have to do is to "choose to be chosen", since we did not choose Him but He chose us. (John 15:16). What an amazing and loving God. I have to laugh now....I used to say "When I found God"....I was the one who was lost...not Him....I ran from Him until one day I turned around and ran into the arms of the One Who had faithfully pursued and wooed me.....the Holy spirit, "the Hound of Heaven".
